APCRDA offers quick solutions to many issues raised by Amaravati farmers on Grievance Day

In a proactive step towards addressing the concerns of farmers and agricultural workers in the Amaravati capital region, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) conducted a Grievance Day at its Tulluru office on Friday. The event witnessed the direct intervention of APCRDA Additional Commissioner G. Suryasai Praveen Chand, who ensured immediate redressal of several complaints.
During the session, farmers from across the capital region presented their issues to the Additional Commissioner, who instructed officials to resolve the complaints on the spot wherever possible. One of the major issues raised pertained to land-related problems, especially those concerning Lanka lands. Responding to these, the Additional Commissioner stated that necessary action would be taken in accordance with directions from the Guntur District Collector.
Several farmers also reported technical glitches in the GIS portal related to the allocation of returnable plots. Taking prompt action, Praveen Chand resolved the issue instantly.
Officers from various departments within the APCRDA participated in the session and managed to provide solutions to a majority of the 23 complaints received, right at the venue. The remaining matters were delegated for swift resolution, with clear instructions from the Additional Commissioner to avoid any delays.
He emphasised that grievance redressal should be prompt and effective, urging farmers to make full use of the weekly Grievance Day held every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The complaints received this week included 22 related to land matters and one pertaining to social welfare.

A delegation of the World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited various construction sites in Amaravati and participated in an orientation programme organised by the A.P. Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on environmental and social safeguards, health and safety of workers, and other aspects related to the capital city construction, at its head office here on Thursday (June 19, 2025). Mr. Praveen Chand threw light on the Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) through which the issues raised by farmers and residents of the capital were being dealt with. WB senior social development specialists Bayana Venkata Rao and Ranjan Verma, and the ADB team discussed the process of assessment of environmental and social systems in Amaravati, and the resettlement action plan. They gave an overview of the mandates of WB and the ADB in the Amaravati project, and the importance of environmental and social welfare activities. Joseph, senior environmental specialist, and Damanjeet Singh Minhas, environmental safeguards adviser, from the WB and ADB, explained the social safeguards to be implemented by the contractors, environment protection measures and safety protocols to be followed in the event of untoward incidents. CRDA and Amaravati Development Corporation Limited officials, including chief engineers Ch. Dhanunjaya, N. Srinivasulu and M. Prabhakar Rao, superintending engineer R. Hanumanth Reddy, divisional engineer P. Venkateswarlu, and executive engineer K. Srinivasa Rao were present.

CRDA nod to Rs 1,052 crore infra works in Amaravati

VIJAYAWADA: The 49th meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli on Friday . Briefing the media after the meeting, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana said the APCRDA approved the tender process for infrastructure development across 1,450 acres in the capital region at an estimated cost of Rs 1,052 crore. Additionally, the APCRDA gave the green signal for works worth Rs 682 crore to connect the Seed Access Road to the National Highway. Discussions were also held on the concept of Green and Blue City at the meeting. The MAUD Minister said a delegation led by him studied the construction of river bunds in Lucknow, and solid waste management in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh as part of best practices to be adopted in development of Capital Amaravati.

Guntur: Himachal Pradesh state chief secretary Prabodh Saxena and planning department advisor Dr Basu Sood visited AP CRDA office in Vijayawada on Wednesday. AP CRDA additional commissioners G Surya Sai Praveen Chand and Mallarapu Naveen explained about land pooling system and how they acquired 30,000 acres of land under land pooling scheme, how the government maintained transparency and gave returnable plots to the farmers who gave their land for the construction of state capital Amaravati through power point presentation. They explained about the distribution of pension Rs 5000 per month to the poor in the state capital, construction of housing colonies, TIDCO Houses, construction of school buildings, Primary Health Centres, Skill Development Centres for women and employment opportunities. They explained about construction of MLA quarters, IAS officers' quarters, IPS officers' quarters, MLC quarters, High Court towers, housing colony for judicial officers, and Assembly buildings complex. They explained how they mobilized funds from HUDCO, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank for the construction of State capital Amaravati. They explained how greenery is being developed. Later, they visited Undavalli Caves and VIT Campus. They explained how the government is developing Amaravati as an educational hub.
