World Bank, ADB delegation visits Amaravati
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) hosted a high-level delegation from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for a day-long engagement focused on environmental and social safeguards and made a field visit to capital Amaravati on Wednesday. As part of the city-to-city partnership initiative, Toru Hashimoto, International Partnership Specialist from Yokohama, Japan, shared his insights and experiences on Yokohama's urban development strategies and sustainability practices, offering valuable insights for the development of the capital Amaravati. Hashimoto presented a detailed overview of Yokohama's urban planning models. The session was attended by K Kanna Babu, Commissioner, APCRDA along with Additional Commissioners G Surya Sai Praveenchand and Mallarapu Naveen, and other officials. The discussions during the session were productive and opened new avenues for adopting global best practices in Amaravati's capital development journey. The World Bank and ADB Environmental and Social (E&S) Safeguards team made a visit to various key locations in the capital region. The visiting team comprised Venkata Rao Bayana, Senior Social Development Specialist, World Bank; Saswati Belliappa, Senior Safeguards Specialist (Social), ADB; Ranjan Verma, Social Safeguards Consultant, World Bank; Harshvardhan Singh, Social Safeguards Consultant, ADB; Joseph Akpokidje, Senior Environmental Specialist, World Bank; and Damanjit Singh, Environmental Safeguards Consultant, World Bank. The field visit began with an inspection of the RVR Project Site along the E6 Trunk Road, where the team reviewed labour camps and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) aspects. The delegation then visited the Thullur Skill Development Centre (Job Mela) to understand the livelihood initiatives being implemented for the benefit of local communities. In the later part of the day, the team visited the Ananthavaram Nursery to examine the best practices followed in tree translocation and concluded the visit with a review of water quality monitoring systems at the River Water Quality Monitoring Station. The visit reinforced APCRDA's ongoing commitment to sustainable and inclusive development while adopting international best practices in environmental and social management. The collaboration with global institutions continues to support Amaravati's vision of becoming a world-class capital city rooted in innovation and environmental stewardship.

The initiative aims to provide employment opportunities for youth in Amaravati and surrounding areas. Reputed companies including MVR Infra Project Ltd., Varun Motors Pvt. Ltd., Skillcraft, KVM Projects Ltd., and Shriram Finance Ltd. will participate in the event. Available roles span the construction and service sectors and include Safety Officers, Trainee Engineers, Surveyors, Service & Sales Engineers, Assistant Technicians, Soft Skills Trainers, and Recovery Operators. Applicants holding SSC, ITI, Diploma, any degree, or postgraduate qualifications are eligible. Both freshers and experienced candidates may attend. Job mela at CRDA Skill Hub in Thullur on June 18
The Department of Skills Development and Training is organising a job mela with the support of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP CRDA), at the CRDA Skill Hub Centre in Thullur on June 18, according to a press release by CRDA Commissioner K. Kanna Babu. MVR Infra Projects Limited, Varun Motors Private. Limited, SkillCraft, K.V.M. Projects Limited, and Shriram Finance Limited are the companies participating in the mela, he said. The jobs being offered are — safety officers, trainee engineers, surveyors, service and sales engineers, assistant technicians, English and soft skills trainers, marketing and recovery executives, and recovery operators. Candidates who completed SSC, ITI, Diploma, any Degree, or Post Graduation (whether freshers or experienced) are eligible to attend the job mela. Selected candidates will be paid salaries ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹30,000 and given additional incentives and allowances for certain roles. CRDA nod to Rs 1,052 crore infra works in Amaravati
VIJAYAWADA: The 49th meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli on Friday . Briefing the media after the meeting, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana said the APCRDA approved the tender process for infrastructure development across 1,450 acres in the capital region at an estimated cost of Rs 1,052 crore. Additionally, the APCRDA gave the green signal for works worth Rs 682 crore to connect the Seed Access Road to the National Highway. Discussions were also held on the concept of Green and Blue City at the meeting. The MAUD Minister said a delegation led by him studied the construction of river bunds in Lucknow, and solid waste management in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh as part of best practices to be adopted in development of Capital Amaravati.
