Nikola Jokic Makes Surprising Game 7 Prediction for Clippers
The Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers are going to the top of the hill in their first-round series, as a Game 7 is coming right up following the latter's 111-105 win at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, LA, Thursday night.
One player who made a difference in Game 6 for the Clippers was veteran forward Nicolas Batum, who scored just six points on 2-for-5 shooting to go with six assists. But he made a much bigger impact on the defensive side of the floor, coming away with three blocks and two steals.

Batum also gave Clippers center Ivica Zubac a big hand in trying to slow down Denver superstar Nikola Jokic in the second half. With Batum playing heavy minutes in the fourth quarter, the Nuggets managed to hold Jokic to just two points on a salty 1-for-4 shooting from the field in the period.
Jokic seemingly acknowledged Batum's effectiveness on both ends of the floor for the Clippers when he said after Game 6 that he expects the versatile French to start in Game 7 in lieu of Kris Dunn.
The ability to defend against multiple positions is one of Batum's most notable assets. While Dunn is also an effective stopper, his questionable jumper and poor outside shooting prevent Los Angeles from having the ideal space on offense, something that Batum can give his team when he's on the floor.

Dunn shot just 33.5 percent from the floor and 33.5 percent from deep in the regular season. Batum, on the other hand, made just 43.7 percent of his field goal attempts but was a 43.3 percent 3-point shooter.

But the decision will be in Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue's hands, as LA and the Nuggets prepare for the winner-take-all Game 7 at Ball Arena in Denver on Saturday.

For all of Harden's success, though, he has developed a reputation for being a playoff dropper. He has come up short one too many times in the postseason by now, and that was the case this year as well. Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers faced off against the Denver Nuggets in a thrilling first-round series in 2025. The series would go the distance, and the Clippers were given a shot at winning Game 7 in Denver. That much-anticipated clash would end up being a dud, though. Advertisement The Nuggets blew out the Clippers 120-101, and Harden was a no-show. He had just seven points (2-8 FG), five rebounds, 13 assists, two steals, and one block on the night. The defeat led to Harden becoming the first player in NBA history to lose a Game 7 with four different teams. While you can't always blame a player for a team's shortcomings, it's not unfair to point the finger at the guard. Harden averages 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game in Game 7s in his career. He struggles with efficiency, too, shooting 35.5% from the field and 22.4% from beyond the arc. This was a second straight first-round exit for Harden, and you wonder if he will ever accomplish that goal of winning a title. He made the NBA Finals in 2011 in just his second season in the league with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but hasn't gotten back to that stage since. Advertisement At this point, you wouldn't fancy Harden's chances of winning a championship with the Clippers either. They had a great opportunity to go on a deep run this year with Kawhi Leonard finally being healthy, but fell at the very first hurdle. Despite that setback, Harden and the Clippers are interested in continuing their partnership, according to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto. He has a $36.3 million player option for the 2025-26 season and is likely to decline it to sign a deal through the 2026-27 season. While Harden disappointed in the postseason, he does deserve to get a tidy extension this offseason. He averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in 2024-25 to make the All-NBA Third Team. It was a great bounce-back campaign, and it's a pity Harden wasn't able to end it on a positive note. Bo Nix has that dawg in him. Going into his second season as the Denver Broncos' starting quarterback, Nix has clearly grown into his role as a leader, and he's been fiery at practice, chirping back and forth with the team's defensive backs. 'I love that," safety Brandon Jones said on June 10. "I never wanted to be somewhere where a quarterback is kind of shy or to himself. I think if a quarterback can show that 'dawg' mentality, that goes a long ways for me and it keeps us battling. It keeps the competition super healthy and very competitive. I've liked what I've seen from him in that standpoint.' Nix, 25, was invited to the Pro Bowl as an alternate last season after surpassing 4,200 yards from scrimmage and scoring 34 touchdowns. He is now more comfortable going into Year 2, and it's noticeable on and off the field. 'I have, and I've seen his overall comfort level on the field," Jones said when asked if he's seen Nix step into more of a leadership role this year. "You can see he's doing a really good job of trying to diagnose the defense, which goes a super long way especially as a quarterback. "A lot of young quarterbacks kind of struggle with that early on. He's done a really good job of dissecting the defense, and figuring out what we are playing and making the right checks that he needs to make. He's definitely made a lot of strides.' Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at ninth-year tight end Evan Engram, No. 1. Before the Broncos: Engram (6-3, 240 pounds) entered the league as a first-round pick out of Ole Miss with the New York Giants in 2017. He spent the first five years of his career in New York, hauling in 262 receptions for 2,828 yards and 16 touchdowns in 65 games. After a somewhat down year in 2021, Engram signed a one-year, prove-it deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. He then totaled 73 receptions for 766 yards and four scores in his first year in Jacksonville and was rewarded with a three-year extension. Advertisement Engram had the best season of his career with the Jaguars in 2023, earning his second career Pro Bowl selection after totaling 114 receptions for 963 yards and four touchdowns. He was then limited to nine games in 2024 due to injury. Jacksonville cut Engram in March to save salary cap space. Broncos tenure: Denver coach Sean Payton spoke about adding a "Joker" to his offense this spring, and when Engram became available, it was clear that he was a perfect fit for the role.
