Lauren Goodger's BBL surgery regret as she looks worlds away from TOWIE debut
Lauren Goodger says she's 'ruined her looks' and looks "abnormal" as she plans to ditch her implants, 15 years after rising to fame alongside Mark Wright on The Only Way Is Essex
Fifteen years on from her first appearance on The Only Way Is Essex, Lauren Goodger looks dramatically different and she's the first to admit it.
When the hit reality show launched back in 2010, Lauren was one of a group of unknowns who quickly found themselves thrust into the spotlight, with their glamorous lives in Brentwood playing out in front of the nation. Fast-forward to now, and Lauren, 38, has spoken candidly about the many cosmetic procedures she's undergone over the years – and the regrets that have come with them.
The reality star, who returned to TOWIE last year, said: 'I've ruined my looks with surgery. I hate my fake boobs and bum now. I feel like my body looks abnormal. I don't need these massive boobs and massive bum.'
She added: 'When I look at myself naked in the mirror, all I see are lumps and bumps everywhere.' Lauren shot to fame as part of TOWIE 's original line-up and quickly became a central figure thanks to her high-profile relationship with co-star Mark Wright, who is now married to Michelle Keegan and has welcomed their first child.
After exiting the show in 2012 following her break-up, she made a short return in 2016 before deciding to rejoin the cast again last year, saying it felt like the right moment to step back into the public eye.
Over the years, Lauren has openly discussed the many changes she's made to her appearance. Back in 2011, she revealed she had undergone a rhinoplasty to fix a broken nose following an accident. She then opted for breast augmentation surgery in 2013, boosting her cup size from 34D to 34E.
But one of the most significant transformations came in 2017, when she travelled to Turkey for a Brazilian bum lift, an experience she revealed in 2023 she regrets and is looking for a way to reverse the procedure.
Speaking honestly, she said: 'I'm not sure how I'm going to do that yet. I'm not sure if there is a procedure that can reverse the BBL. I'm looking into potentially getting the fat sucked out, but I don't know if that's an option. I'm going to speak to lots of different surgeons and figure out my options.'
She went on to call the BBL 'the worst experience' of her life, explaining she now wants a more natural figure again but isn't certain how to achieve that.
Lip fillers have also featured heavily in Lauren's beauty journey. In early 2023, she debuted the results of the 'butterfly effect' filler trend the same one favoured by Katie Price telling followers: 'I've just had the butterfly effect lip fillers by Lift Aesthetics, I've got the tape on at the minute so I'm talking really weird.
'I'm very swollen but literally a new technique, it's so amazing and I can't wait to see the results.'
Despite her long-standing openness about treatments and enhancements, Lauren revealed that her battles with anxiety had previously stopped her from making more permanent changes.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared: 'I have suffered tremendous anxiety due to things I've been through which led me to being caffeine and alcohol free but also stopped me being able go abroad on holiday or have surgery or so minor treatments I've been so bad with anxiety…'
'But today I've spoke to the amazing @simonsmithsurgeon as I want to take the step to get my implants removed in my boobs… I do not want them I just need to get this done and I'm terrified but I know it's also much healthier for me and I don't need them anymore. I can't wait for my natural boobs back xxxx.'
From Essex glam queen to a woman on a journey back to herself, Lauren Goodger is ready to leave the past behind one procedure at a time as she embraces her natural look.

Olivia Attwood hits out at Kardashians after Kylie Jenner's surgery admission
Former Love Islander Olivia Attwood fronts a new series that delves into the world of aesthetic enhancements, but believes honesty is the best policy when it comes to celebrities and their cosmetic procedures Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood has hit out at the Kardashians for being selective with their honesty about cosmetic surgery, as she slammed celebrities for being "disingenuous". The 34-year-old hosts ITV documentary series The Price of Perfection, in which she discusses the issues around cosmetic surgery and aesthetic enhancements. Olivia herself paid £3,000 for a boob job at the age of 20, but later paid around £10,000 to have them removed and smaller ones implanted. Her comments about the Kardashians come after Kylie Jenner, 27, finally gave details to a follower on TikTok that she had a breast enhancement when she was 19. The star was questioned about her cleavage, to which she replied with the size, profile and even the name of her surgeon. It came after her mum, Kris Jenner, admitted she'd had a facelift. But Olivia said Kylie's confession was "too little, too late." She believes Kylie should be honest about the rest of her cosmetic procedures. She added that Kylie and her sisters' bodies "are not created in the gym." Olivia told the Sun: "Kylie came out and said about her boobs, and I was like: 'I've been talking about my breasts for the past 10 years.' I like the Kardashians, this is not me bashing them, but it's too little, too late for me." She went on to say how she feels the Kardashians should be transparent about all their procedures, because it's 'disingenuous' to pretend their looks aren't down to surgery. She continued: "We know Kylie's breasts are fake. "We knew she had lip fillers when she was selling those lip kits. What about talking about lipo and BBLs?," before saying she believes the Kardashians have had more work done. But although she has had breast augmentation more than once, Olivia revealed that a BBL is the one procedure she would steer clear of. Joking that she has a 'pancake bum', the presenter said: "BBL is the only one I wouldn't do, because the risk is too much. It's one of the surgeries that has the highest revision rate." A BBL, or Brazilian Butt Lift, is a procedure undertaken to change the size of their buttocks. Fat is removed to from other parts of the patient's body, including the belly, hops and back, then injected back into the buttocks. It's one of the surgeries Olivia covers in an episode in the first series of The Price of Perfection. She said of the second season: 'We touched on brand new subjects. There's just so many different avenues that you can cover, and each one is an education in itself.' During the BBL episode, she wants to film a 360 liposuction and BBL procedure, which is performed on a woman named Scarlett. But Olivia feared the worst during the scenes in Turkey, when the crew were told they weren't allowed to record the full treatment after all. Speaking about the decision, Olivia said: "They did change their mind at the absolute final hour, so we just told that story and it's in its truthfulness." She added: "It was awful. A lot goes into planning these shoots for my team and I. But I was thinking, 'this is a massive red flag. Why have they suddenly changed their mind?'" Series one and two of The Price of Perfection are available now to watch on ITVX.
