At first glance, it looks like a forgotten family hauler. But under the weathered wrap and roof-strapped luggage, this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle wagon is anything but mild-mannered.
Nicknamed 'Rusty,' the car is the latest build featured by YouTube channel AutotopiaLA in collaboration with Hood Muscle Cars, and it packs a surprise worthy of street legend status. What looks like a tired old cruiser is actually a nitrous-huffing beast capable of laying down up to 900 horsepower.
The heart of the build is a small-block Chevy 396 stroker, beefed up with performance heads, a roller cam, and a 750 CFM Holley carburetor. Sammy, the engine builder, says the naturally aspirated output hovers around 600 horsepower—but when the nitrous kit is engaged, 'Rusty' turns into a monster.
Backing up the powerplant is a fully built 4L60 automatic transmission with a 2,600-stall converter. The stock frame and suspension geometry have been retained, though upgraded QA1 coilovers help control the chaos. The result is a sleeper that looks like it belongs in a junkyard but drives like it escaped from a drag strip.
Inside, the Chevelle remains largely untouched, maintaining a period-correct sleeper aesthetic. The rust? It's just a wrap—intentionally applied to fool unsuspecting onlookers.
The AutotopiaLA host takes 'Rusty' for a spin, revealing just how aggressive this long-roof legend really is. It burns rubber with ease and keeps pulling like a freight train, all while looking like it should be parked behind a barn.
Built by a team of enthusiasts, each with a hand in different aspects of the car, the Chevelle is a rolling tribute to hot rod ingenuity and deceptive appearances. When it comes to this wagon, looks can—and absolutely do—deceive.

Petrol and diesel cars can last 400,000 miles more with small changes

A top mechanic says petrol and diesel cars could last up to 400,000 miles with small changes. Scotty Kilmer, a mechanic who regularly goes viral on YouTube, has shared his expertise with road users and drivers via his vlog. Scotty said: 'You're driving down a road and you step on the gas and your car doesn't accelerate right, what could be wrong? 'Well it could be a lot of things but check the simple things, make sure your air filter is clean. Make sure you're spark plugs aren't worn out, these are easy to check, they just pop off and you can get right to them. You could also have a bad oxygen sensor but you can see this one's new too, it's all shiny. 'It could also be a catalytic converter that's starting to clog up, if that's the case your temperature gauge will run slightly high and you'll lose acceleration. 'So if you're lucky you just need an air filter or speaker plugs or have to clean the mass airflow sensor. Press one of those.' In reply, a viewer said: "Some people don't even get oil changes and wonder why their car is a pile of heaping garbage." "I had an acceleration problem in my 04 Camry 186k miles and my car felt like it jumped when I pressed on the gas…I cleaned my throttle body and it runs like a dream now," a second said. A third typed: "Hello Scotty , I appreciate all the professional advice and the money that you've saved me over the years ! Thank you brother and God bless you and your family for generations to come." Another said: "Scotty... I refurbished many a car from the 30s 40s 50s but you are the best source on the Tube for me. "Love the no nonsense videos you put out. Keep them coming. Everything I see you do here is mechanically professional. "The tricks, tips, and knowledge are like a college education in surviving when you own a car. Great Stuff..."

Nissan Motor Acceptance Company Submits Application to Form Nissan Bank U.S., LLC

FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nissan Motor Acceptance Company (NMAC), the financial services arm of Nissan North America, has submitted an application to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions to form Nissan Bank U.S., LLC, an industrial bank headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The proposed Bank will focus on commercial financing for dealerships—enhancing the services currently provided by NMAC while enabling greater efficiency, competitive rates, and a deeper ability to serve Nissan, INFINITI, and non-Nissan dealerships across the United States. In addition to operational efficiencies, the Bank is intended to strengthen support for independent, locally owned dealerships—many of which serve as vital small businesses in communities across the country. 'For over 40 years, NMAC has supported our dealer network with stable, relationship-driven financing,' said Kevin Cullum, president of NMAC. 'Forming Nissan Bank U.S. gives us greater flexibility to serve dealers more efficiently and competitively—so they can better serve their customers. It also deepens our support for locally owned dealerships, many of which are small businesses that anchor their communities. From small towns to major markets, this Bank will help dealers access the tools they need to grow—while reinforcing our long-term investment in the U.S. market.' The Bank will leverage NMAC's commercial lending expertise and long-standing relationships with more than 1,200 dealerships. Its charter would allow for more flexible and cost-effective financing options, empowering dealers to better serve their customers. In addition, the Bank intends to uphold Nissan's strong legacy of community investment by supporting financial literacy, affordable housing, and economic development initiatives in Utah and beyond. Consumer auto loans will continue to be offered directly by NMAC. The formation of the Bank is subject to regulatory approval. Nissan worked closely with their advisors, Klaros Group, and counsel, Covington and Burling, in preparing the application.
