The Terrace, Alexandra Palace, London
I've yet to come across a pub with better views than The Terrace at
Alexandra Palace.
On a sunny day, hundreds of punters congregate on the benches outside the Phoenix Bar, where you can see as far as south London.
On weekends, there are also plenty of food trucks to order from.

The Old Neptune, Whitstable
There's not many pubs that can boast having a beer garden right on the beach.
The Old Neptune in Whitstable is one of the few in the UK, and one of my favourites in summer when you are right on the shingle beach, looking out over the sea.

Church House Inn, Devon
Nestled in the village of Marldon, located between Paignton and Torquay, the Church House Inn features a long stretching garden next to Marldon Church.
The Inn has a wide variety of beverages and also hosts regular events and themed nights.
The village green is also located just across the road for a nice stroll.

Carriages, Knaresborough
Knaresborough is one of the prettiest towns in the UK so it makes sense that it always has one of the best pub gardens
While Carriages is technically a wine bar, you can still grab a pint while overlooking the train line.

Pear Tree Cafe, Battersea Park, London
A popular spot among young professionals in London, Pear Tree Cafe is not explicitly a pub.
Whilst a cafe in the day, in the late afternoons and evenings it turns into a vibrant venue on the edge of a pod in Battersea Park, with both and indoor and outdoor bar. The venue also boasts live music events.

The Peat Spade Inn, Hampshire
A stunning country pub, found in a tiny hamlet in Hampshire.
This small but very cute pub garden has so many stunning plants that you feel like you're having a drink in someone's back garden.

The Fox at Willian, Letchworth
The Fox is your classic country pub with an AA Rosette kitchen so getting a bite to eat alongside a drink is always a good idea - I'd personally recommend The Fox Platter which is essentially their own version of a charcuterie board.
Out the front, the pub overlooks the village green and pond.
But out the back is my favourite spot - it's been transformed into a Mediterranean style courtyard that in the right weather makes your surroundings feel less Hertfordshire and more like Italy.

The garden reminds me more of Italy than the UK
Ye Olde Swan Inn, Radcot
Ye Old Swan Inn isn't the easiest to get to, being in the middle of Radcot.
But the drive is worth it, with quaint seating overlooking the river and Cotswolds stone bridge - and even a tiny campsite right next to it.

The Blacksmiths, Isle of Wight
This 400-year-old pub has oodles of charm inside but the best bit is its pub garden with stunning panoramic views across miles of open countryside.
There's also an outdoor children's play area and parents patio.
- Head of Travel, Lisa Minot

The Blacksmiths even has a huge playground for kids
Tap Room at The Old New Inn, Bourton-on-the-Water
Located next to a model village with a convenient gateway straight from the attraction into the pub garden is the Tap Room at The Old New Inn in Bourton-on-the-Water.
The pub offers a great variety of summer spritz', which can be enjoyed in their pristinely manicured dog-friendly garden.

The White Horse, Hertfordshire
The 18th century coaching inn is now a cosy gastro-pub with a new chef serving up delicious food with a Mediterranean bent.
The pub's secluded garden gets plenty of sunshine year-round and has plenty of space for kids to run about.

The Sword in Hand, Westmill
I'm lucky enough to have this pub right on my doorstep and I tend to stop in for a refreshing drink after a very long dog walk around the rolling fields that surround the village of Westmill.
The Sword in Hand has been a pub for over 200 years and was this year awarded the title of 'Best pub' in Hertfordshire by The Telegraph.
Outside is a beautiful patio area with wisteria that blooms in late spring and a grape vine canopy, as well a grassy area with picnic tables that look over the neighbouring farm - where better to enjoy a glass rosé?

The Standard Inn, Portscatho, Cornwall
The relatively new offering by the creators of the hugely popular
Hidden Hut, the Standard Inn has excellent food.
Think meat and veggie sharing feasts as well as frozen margaritas, in a huge, sunny back garden.

White Horse, East Runton
While it might not be the most beautiful or classic pub 'garden', the White Horse in East Runton has recently undergone a makeover and you can't fault the outdoor seating area adorned with sun umbrellas.
It's the location that really does it, just a three minute walk away from East Runton Beach.
I thought it was the perfect pit stop after a long trek on the sand, especially once I got an Aperol Spritz in my hand.
- Travel Reporter, Alice Penwill

It might not be the most glam but White Horse is right by East Runton Beach
River Brew Co, Newcastle
Its location means you get a great view of some of the city's most iconic sites - it's nestled under the Tyne Bridge, so you can see the Gateshead Millennium Bridge in the distance, and it's just a stone's throw away from the unusual looking Glasshouse building.
There's a brewery, taproom, restaurant, and street view vendors. There really is no excuse to go anywhere else.

Urgent warning to Brits trapped in Israel as UK scrambles to launch evacuation flights as tension in Middle East soars

BRITS trapped in Israel have been told to urgently contact the Foreign Office as the UK scrambles to launch evacuation flights. The first could take off as soon as today, with more to follow depending on demand and security. 1 Brits trapped in Israel have been told to urgently contact the Foreign Office Credit: Getty Efforts have been grounded due to airspace restrictions, but the Government says it is working 'at pace' with Israeli officials to get Brits home. The PM said: 'I urge all citizens to make contact with the Foreign Office so that we can facilitate whatever support is needed.' He added that the Government will help evacuate British citizens on charter flights 'as soon as we can'. Only those registering online will get a link to book, and they must not go to the airport unless told to. Seats must be paid for, and the Foreign Office said those in greatest need will be prioritised. Shadow Foreign Secretary Dame Priti Patel urged ministers to act faster, insisting the UK 'must not be behind the curve' in evacuating its nationals. She said: 'The Government's got to start moving fast now in terms of British nationals in Israel. 'They've been talking about this for days… Israeli airspace is shut down. 'The Americans are ready to evacuate 25,000 US nationals — we must not be behind the curve.'

Airline announces rescue flights from Israel to London after '25,000 requests'

El Al is to start rescue flights from Israel from Monday after receiving 25,000 request forms, the airline said. Israel's flag carrier said it would begin operations tomorrow with a strict cap of 50 passengers per flight, in line with government guidance. Under the scheme, passengers who leave Israel on a rescue flight will not be allowed to for at least 21 days. A total of 25,000 people have registered their interest since the system opened on Saturday night. Flights will operate to London, Paris, Athens, Rome, Larnaca, New York, Los Angeles and Bangkok. Currently, passengers can only book flights on El Al from July 15 after the airline suspended regular operations until at least June 27. El Al said in a statement: 'We are subject to and operate in accordance with the directives of the security establishment and the Ministry of Transportation. 'The safety and security of our passengers are our top priority, and we will continue to provide updates on any changes or new directives.' Following Israel's Operation Rising Lion air strikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites and Tehran's subsequent retaliation, the Foreign Office updated its travel advice on June 15, placing Israel on its red list. British citizens in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories are advised to 'follow local authorities' advice'. As well as rescue flights from Israel, the airline is running repatriation flights for Israeli citizens abroad from the same destinations. More Trending The airline said that flights would be 'operated gradually' and subject to government approval. It added that passengers already booked onto flights between June 13 and June 30 would not be charged an additional fee if reassigned onto a rescue flight to the same region. In addition to emergency flights, El Al is offering cruises to and from Cyprus in partnership with Mano Maritime, with each voyage accommodating up to 1,500 passengers. British man 'devastated' after being kicked out of Dubai for face tattoos

A British man's dream holiday to Dubai was ruined after he was refused entry because of his tattoos. Jordan Howman, 34, landed at Dubai International Airport for a week-long getaway with his fiancée Theresa, 38, and daughter Kaic, 16. Jordan, from Crewe, had forked out £3,000 for his third trip to the United Arab Emirates, his 'favourite country in the world.' But on arrival, he was pulled over by customs officers, before being refused entry after a six-hour wait due to his face tattoos. Jordan got the markings on his face around eight or nine years ago alongside words like 'blessed', 'family' and 'crazy life' and said it has never caused problems during his previous two visits to Dubai. He said: 'It has absolutely devastated me. I feel like I've been massively discriminated against. 'My missus has been crying her eyes out.' 'There's no law against face tattoos – there's nothing like that. The plasterer said the experience had made him feel 'absolutely rubbish' and had put him off travelling to Dubai again. He added: 'It was my favourite country, but this has absolutely ruined it. Now I'll never go again. I've lost all of my money because of a pattern on my face.' The UAE has become one of the go-to destinations for wealthy British expats and holidaymakers alike. But the state's socially conservative policies can cause problems for visiting foreigners. Britons have previously faced arrest for public displays of affection, including kissing. The UAE also has a zero tolerance for drugs, with passengers found with even residual amounts of illegal substances facing a prison sentence. Jordan's Emirates airline touched down at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, June 111, at 7.30am. 'It was my third trip to Dubai,' he said. 'I'd had no problems all the other times. But this time, as we got in, I scanned my passport and was just about to go through security when an airport worker pulled us aside. 'We were about to put our hand luggage on the conveyor belt when the man said: 'Follow me'.' After taking Jordan aside, the man asked if he'd had his passport stamped before taking it from him. 'Then he snatched my passport out of my hand,' he said. 'There had been nowhere to stamp it – we'd used the electronic gates. It was just an excuse to get the passport out of my hand.' After being held in a waiting room for over four hours, Jordan was transferred to immigration at around 12pm, he said. By this time, his family had reached the five-star Anantara hotel. He called his partner and she got a taxi to the airport but he says 'they wouldn't let me see her' and she got a taxi back to the hotel, costing a total of £250. Jordan said he was not given his passport back for some time which was 'terrifying'. 'A woman came and took me upstairs to immigration, where they said: 'He's not coming in because of his face tattoos – you're not coming in because of the way you look',' he said. 'One of the staff behind the desk said a more senior immigration officer made the decision, saying I was not to enter Dubai and that I must leave the country immediately.' More Trending At 2.30pm, Jordan was put on another Emirates flight heading back to the UK. 'They sent me on a flight back to Manchester. It was only when I landed that I got my passport back. Friday morning was the first time I got to see my daughter, over Facetime', he said. Metro approached Dubai Airports for a comment and an attempt was made to contact the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigh Affairs Dubai.
