Complaint Lodged Against Karnataka Govt, RCB Over Damage To Bengaluru Park Event

Bengaluru Stampede: A citizen group in the metropolitan has sought an action against Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka state government and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) claiming that the stampede, which occurred last week caused damage to their locality's park's fence.
The Cubbon Park Walkers' Association has written a letter to local police in which it accused the government of negligence, saying the situation was handled without any preparation which resulted the crowd thronging and damaging the park.
'The recent episode of Victory Celebration of R C B, at KSCA Stadium by the organization namely DNA among others including the Govt. of Karnataka, the same was handled without any preparation which resulted the crowd who thronged in to the Cubbon Park thereby damaging the fence, ornamental plants, branches of trees and also defecated the area without any preventive measures taken by the Government," the letter read as reported by NDTV.
The association also directed the complaint against the Army Head Quarters Subarea claiming that they failed in their duty to maintain law and order as the stadium land and wireless Office situate belongs to the Army.
'It is also brought to your kind notice that the onus is also on the Karnataka Sub Area as the stadium land and wireless Office situate belongs to the Army. There is no document to show transfer of the land by the Army to the State Government or to KSCA by the Army. Hence this complaint is also directed against the Army Head Quarters Subarea as they failed in their duty to maintain law and order," the complaint read.
Accusing the state government of 'dereliction of duty," the citizens' group said that the action may be taken against the Government of Karnataka, KSCA Organisation, DNA, Army Sub Area, RCB. Hence the complaint may be taken and action in accordance to law".
The tragic incident took place occurred on June 4 during a victory celebration for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The event, intended to honor RCB's first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title, tragically resulted in 11 fatalities and over 70 injuries.
The stampede took place between 5 pm and 7 pm, as an estimated 250,000 fans gathered outside the stadium. Attempts to enter the stadium led to overcrowding at entry points, causing panic and chaos. The situation escalated when free passes were announced, prompting ticketless fans to surge towards the gates.
Authorities said most of the victims were young men and women, including several students.

'India still has some very experienced cricketers around who have played a lot of cricket. Bumrah is obviously one of them, and Jadeja is still playing. And the young boys are playing so much cricket, and the IPL sets them up quite nicely for pressure cricket,' he said. In his Test career, Kohli made 123 appearances in white clothing, scoring 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries and 31 fifties in 210 innings and the best score of 254*. He is India's fourth-highest run-getter in the format, behind Sachin Tendulkar (15,921 runs), Rahul Dravid (13,265 runs) and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122 runs). India is touring England for a five-match test series, which started on June 20. This is the first test series since the legendary batter announced his retirement. As per a PTI report, DMK Lok Sabha MP Dayanidhi Maran has accused his brother Kalanidhi Maran of 'financial crimes,' and asked him to restore the entire shareholding position of Sun TV and related companies to their original state or face legal and regulatory action.' The main dispute is regarding the shareholding of the Sun Network, which was equally split between the Maran and Karunanidhi families before 2003. As per the allegations, the company funds were misused to launch ventures like Sun Direct TV, Sun Pictures, an FM channel, and IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad after 2003. Kalanidhi Maran accused of 'financial crimes' In the notice, Dayanidhi Maran has accused Kalanithi of committing 'fraudulent practices' and 'misgovernance' during the takeover of Sun TV. As per media reports, Dayanidhi Maran has alleged that his brother was involved in a series of 'calculated and coordinated financial crimes' including cheating and money laundering. If the allegations are proved, BCCI may take actions strict against Kavya Maran and her IPL team. 'White-collar criminality' Such acts amount to white-collar criminality of the highest order and have caused irreparable loss to the legitimate stakeholders of the companies in question, Dayanidhi alleged in the notice. Following this development, Sun TV's stock fell as much as 5.25 per cent to Rs 580 in early trade on Friday. However, it later trimmed some losses to trade 3.41 per cent lower at Rs 591. Kalanithi Maran currently holds a 75 per cent stake in the company, which has a market capitalisation of Rs 24,124 crore.
