Archery instructor pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting 15-year-old

PETALING JAYA : An archery instructor was charged in the Klang sessions court today with committing sexual assault and unnatural sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl last week.
Harian Metro reported that Faizul Taib pleaded not guilty after the two charges were read before judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.
He is accused of sexually assaulting the victim at a toilet in Klang at around 4.20pm on June 10.
The charge is under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides up to 20 years' imprisonment and whipping.
The father of one was also charged with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with the victim at the same place, date and time.
The second charge is under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which provides for five to 20 years' imprisonment and whipping.
Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Jannah Aimi proposed bail of RM15,000 with the condition that the accused do not disturb the witnesses, whether in person or by proxy.
Faizul was represented by lawyer Daneish Thayalan, who informed the court that his client had a monthly salary of RM4,000 and supported his wife and child.
'He also pays for the medication of his father, who suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. My client has no issue with reporting to a police station monthly and requests that bail be lowered,' he said.
The court set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and set re-mention of the case for Aug 19.

JPJ finalising investigation papers for bus operator responsible for deadly UPSI accident
BUTTERWORTH, June 20 — The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is finalising the investigation papers for action to be taken in court against the bus company operator involved in the accident that claimed the lives of 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students Its director-general, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the investigation is now in the final stages before being handed over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor to decide on the charge recommendation. Regarding the allegation that the JPJ could not record the bus company's operator's statement because he suffered a heart attack, Aedy Fadly said his side was not informed about the matter. 'He (the bus operator) had a heart attack, it has nothing to do with the JPJ and I have not received any reports saying otherwise. We will still take action; if he goes to the hospital we will wait,' he added. In the incident on June 9, 15 UPSI students died when the bus they were in overturned in an accident at KM53 of the East-West Highway (JRTB), near Tasik Banding, Gerik. The bus carrying 42 university students was travelling from Jertih, Terengganu to the university's main campus in Tanjung Malim, Perak when it collided with a Perodua Alza before overturning. — Bernama

Man found dead in vehicle outside Klang motorcycle shop, believed to be shot
SHAH ALAM, June 20 — A man was found dead inside a vehicle, believed to have been shot, in an incident outside a motorcycle shop in Meru, Klang, this afternoon. According to Bernama, Klang North district police chief ACP S Vijaya Rao said the authorities were alerted to the incident at 3.37pm, and when they arrived at the scene, they found the body of a 46-year-old local man in the driver's seat. US singer Chris Brown pleads not guilty in UK nightclub assault case, trial set for 2026
LONDON, June 20 — American R&B singer Chris Brown today pleaded not guilty in a UK court to a charge stemming from an alleged London nightclub brawl in 2023. Brown, 36, wearing a dark suit and tie as well as glasses, stood in the dock in London as the charge was put to him, replying: 'Not guilty, ma'am.' The singer, who is on £5 million (RM28.4 million) bail, waved to people in the public gallery as he left, following his plea to allegedly attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
