If you are on the hunt for a new foundation with a good SPF, then Clinique's Even Better Vitamin Makeup SPF 50 could be the answer to your prayers. It provides up to 12 hours of wear, and promises to create a natural, lightweight feel. You can get it for £39 on Lookfantastic in a variety of shades here.
It is described as helping you to achieve a 'vibrant-looking base' and 'enhances natural features with light, luminous coverage.'
The skincare-makeup hybrid is blended with vitamins B3, C and E to help defend the skin, and it is also sweat and humidity-resistant (great news now we have the warmer months ahead of us). For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here .
It's also won the seal of approval from shoppers. One person wrote in their product review on Lookfantastic: 'Nice buildable coverage and lasted all day! love this product.'
Someone else entitled their review 'Perfect for sensitive skin; noting: 'Foundation usually irritates me but this is the only product I have found that doesn't do this or break me out.
'Perfect if you are acne prone or have sensitive skin.'
One criticism was that you may have to be careful if you are using the product around your eyes, as one person said: 'Great colour for my skin, light medium cool 2.
'No yellow or orange tones which seem to be every foundation brand recently.
'Easy to blend and the perfect amount of glow - really natural. My problem is the high spf, even though I avoid the eye area it irritates them.'
Yet lots of people couldn't fault it, as another person added: 'I have been such a clinique fan for a long time and this foundation has really solidified this.
'I love how this just glides on and blends seamlessly, is super comfortable for all day wear and never feels cakey or heavy.
'Perfect for everyday coverage but is also very buildable. 10/10.'

This £12 K-beauty sunscreen uses rice to fight ageing – so I tested it for 9 months

If you're on the Korean skincare hype, then you'll likely have heard of Beauty of Joseon. Founded in 2016, the brand draws on the power of herbal ingredients; it's named for those used as medicine in the Joseon dynasty through the 14th to 19th centuries. This includes ginseng, green tea and – of course – rice. If you're sceptical about the anti-ageing benefits of Uncle Ben's, I spoke to dermatologists to find out if rice works, or if it's just marketing. Dr Simon Ourian, a dermatologist with clients including Kylie Jenner and Lady Gaga, says that rice has 'impressive anti-ageing benefits.' Dr Ourian explains that it 'delivers a natural plumping effect, making the skin appear more youthful and revitalised.' I also spoke to consultant dermatologist Dr Sina Ghadiri, who agrees and says, 'Rice-derived products can be a beneficial complement to an anti-ageing skincare routine.' However, Dr Ghadiri qualifies that rice isn't an all-encompassing solution to the signs of ageing; he adds that '[rice] shouldn't replace cornerstone ingredients like topical retinoids, vitamin C, or peptides.' That said, he finds that rice extract 'gives a soothing barrier-protective formula, making it especially suitable for those seeking both sun protection and skin-nourishing benefits.' So it's no surprise that Beauty of Joseon's rice-packed sunscreen is doing the rounds on social media, and I first got my hands on the bestseller in September 2024 when reviewing the best Korean skincare brands. I loved it from the off, but you can only really tell if anti-ageing products are worth the money after prolonged use. Nine months later, I've found out if this rice-based SPF actually works. How I tested SPF is important whether the sky's looking overcast or crystal clear, so I've been using my Beauty of Joseon relief sun cream for more than nine months. This included days when my car windscreen was frosted over and, more recently, as temperatures have been nearing the thirties. Following Dr Marko Lens' advice on how much SPF to apply, I used around one teaspoon's worth of the formula across my face and neck, and noted its consistency and finish on the skin. I paid attention to how quickly the cream absorbed and how it wore throughout the day, recording its sticking power and any instances of sunburn. With ginseng, green tea, rice and niacinamide included in the formula, I closely reviewed any positive or negative changes to my complexion as a result of continued use. According to the Which? judges, the £2.99 Lacura sun cream is easily applied and offers effective protection from the sun - while coming in at under £3. Which? judges praised Aldi's Lacura product for its easy application and effective protection, all while maintaining an accessible price point under £3. And thanks to being fragrance free and non-greasy, it's suitable for sensitive skin and "designed to ensure maximum protection without irritation". Like all of Aldi's sun creams, the 50+ Sensitive Sun Lotion has a 5-star UVA/UVB rating - meaning it offers the highest barrier against UVA rays. "This recognition is a powerful testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and performance at great prices for our shoppers," Julia Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said. "To offer such effective sun protection for under £3 truly embodies our promise of accessible excellence. "It means our shoppers can enjoy the summer safely, knowing they're getting first-rate protection without breaking the bank." In addition, Aldi has released two new additions to its suncare range - the Lacura SPF50+ Shine Control Face Sun Lotion and the Lacura SPF50+ Moisturising Sun Lotion. The former has a smooth matte finish that works well as a primer under make-up, and comes in at £2.19 - meaning you save 84% compared to Nivea. I'm a skin pro & here's 5 sunscreen mistakes you make - you need my 13 dot hack While the latter lotion offer 24-hour hydration, meaning the skin is left feeling soft and nourished, as well as being protected from the sun. There are also several effective options for kids - the £2.99 Lacura SPF50+ Baby & Kids Sensitive Lotion. Or for a cool twist, try the Coloured Roll On, which also comes in at £2.29. The green-coloured formula is fun for kids, while also highlighting any areas that may have been missed during application. The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream. The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference - and this matters for all ages - is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed. "The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation," she continued, not because you're "not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday". "If you're not doing in your 20s, get on that now." But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn't go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun. Doing this over your lifetime - and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days - "will reduce the visible signs of photoageing", Andrea said. Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin. It's also suitable for sensitive kids' skin. And if you get burnt in the sun - unlikely with Aldi's range - there's also the Lacura Moisturising After Sun Lotion. The £2.39 cream is "formulated with Glycerin and Aloe Vera to calm and refresh sun-stressed skin". 4 All of Aldi's suncare range has a five-star UVA and UVB rating, meaning it offers the highest barrier against the skin Credit: Alamy

Popular Elemis cleansing balm alternative is just as good and costs £22 less

Elemis' Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm has taken over 'Beauty-Tok,' but some fans have shared their dismay at the hefty price tag, but I tried a great alternative - and it's nearly half the price If you're a lover of makeup like me, and cannot help but romanticise the boring corporate sludge with a fun makeup look and 'siren-core' outfit - that's HR appropriate - then you'll know how important a quality daily cleanser can be. Especially with the rise of pollution, the dirt of public transport and harsh water, our skin seems to be fighting its hardest to remain a blemish and spot-free zone. So when the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm caused a viral wave through the beauty community, I had to see what the fuss was about. Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm - key benefits New to London, and religiously budget-friendly, my means of trying the £49 cleanser was to nab some in the bathroom I share with my sister. Totally illegal by our terms but I was tired of my skin breaking out. Promising to be the "ultimate cleansing experience," the award-winning product advertises itself as "three indulgent textures in one". Beginning as a solid similar to hard coconut oil, the balm then melts upon contact with your skin, working through the grime and makeup of the day. Satisfyingly, the cleanser morphs into a creamy facewash once water is added, resulting in a thorough cleanse that saves you several cotton pads and a quarter of your micellar water. Perfect for long-wear looks, I believed this miracle balm was my one-and-only saviour - but my bank account disagreed. Never the one to experiment with new products - which my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation can testify too - the only option was to lie in secret wait for my sister to source a new cleanser to try. The results of her consumerism paid off when she bought home a new cleansing balm that was just as good and £22 cheaper. Help us improve our content by completing the survey below. We'd love to hear from you! Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm - key benefits Clinique is a well-known brand often seen in our mothers' cupboards, where we assume its products aren't for us. However, Clinique's loyal fanbase has begun to include Gen Z, who entered via the Black Honey lip balm gateway. Named the second-best cleansing balm, Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm scored 94/100 by Good Housekeeping, the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm has been praised for it's identical results to the Elemis' viral hit, and it's surprisingly affordable. The balm is currently £26.95 thanks to a 21% off sale at LookFantastic. Usually £34, you can now bag the cleanser for £7 less. Alternatively, you can save £11 on the product by shopping at Allbeauty, who sells the cleanser for £22.95. So does Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Compared to the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, which costs £49 for 100g, the Clinique alternative is almost half the price for the same amount at £26.95, so you're saving £22. Having tried both, Clinique is just as gentle and able to break down layers of makeup with one wash. With an oily base, the cleanser is great at washing off stubborn mascara, activating with water into a slight cream-cleanser, and does not strip your skin of any moisture. Emily from Cardiff wrote on Clinique's website: "This balm is the best cleansing balm! I have highly sensitive skin and suffer from dermatitis at times and this product this never causes any flare ups or disturbances. "Despite other reviews saying its smells greasy it most certainly doesn't, it's just fragrance free which should always be seen as a bonus. It's more on the expensive side however will say lasts about 4/5 months if used every single day. 10/10". I personally prefer Clinique as a little goes a long way – having found more of the Elemis product was needed per wash.
