Where are the Virgin Island cast now? A year on from filming, here's what the participants are doing today

Cosmopolitan27-05-2025

After three, very intense weeks, Virgin Island will come to an end tonight (with a literal bang for one of the participants!)
The show kicked off on Monday 12th May, and quickly divided viewers, with some calling it "creepy" and "excruciating", which the show's therapists defended.
A leading sex expert told Cosmopolitan UK exclusively what the show gets right and wrong, with the title being its biggest set back.
Over six episodes, the 12 adult virgins took part in several workshops in a bid to overcome their sexual insecurities. They were also given sex surrogates to explore with if they wished to.
The show was actually filmed a year ago, which means a lot of time has passed, and a lot has happened in the lives of the participants.
So, where are the cast now?
From Dave to Emma, here's where the Virgin Island cast are today and what they've been up to in the last 12 months.
Food worker Emma, 23, described herself as the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) when she joined the show.
A year on, and it looks she's had a major confidence boost. She's been travelling a lot since leaving the show and recently posted a TikTok of her wearing a short skirt, with the caption "not missing out on wearing a skirt because my legs are too long" - too right!
The only contestant to lose his virginity on the show, Dave is now in a relationship with a girl named Katie and they've been together for six months.
Asked how his moves in the bedroom have improved, he told The Sun: "Some of them aren't amazing. But my girlfriend is happy. Our first time together was amazing."
He continued: "I never would have been able to talk to her without this show. But I don't think my girlfriend will watch, for obvious reasons. She watched the first four episodes, but it's getting a bit much now. You don't want to see your partner with someone else, even if it was a year ago.
"She's openly said it's like watching a completely different person."
Viewers will see Dave lose his virginity in the show's finale, as he's guided by sex expert, Kat. After the show, Dave slept with two more women.
As Dave was the only participant to lose his virginity, the group chat name was changed to Virgins and Dave, but it gets updated any time one of them does the deed.
Since appearing on the show, Viraj has been travelling and focusing on his fitness journey after losing a lot of weight in 2024.
He recently spoke out about his experience on Virgin Island, hitting back at negative comments.
"I wanted to make this video because there's been a lot of attention on Virgin Island and since I was a part of it. I've been seeing the jokes, I've been seeing the memes and I've been seeing some pretty harsh comments, so I just wanna share my experience and be honest and open with everyone," he said in a video posted to his Instagram grid.
Viraj revealed that he joined the show for "personal reasons" following a "tough rejection" and that it wasn't about "sex" for him, but rather to gain confidence.
"My goal was to work on my confidence, to work on my social skills, and just feeling okay being me around women," he said.
He continued: "And honestly the experience changed me. I've come out of my shell so much more and I feel way more confident. I feel like I can open myself up very well and that growth, whatever that was that I did on the island, it changed me and I can't thank the therapists enough for those one-to-one workshops. It changed me massively."
Civil service worker Ben was the oldest participant on the show. The now 31-year-old didn't lose his virginity on the show, but has since spoken out about his reasons for taking part. In an interview with The Times, he opened up about being bullied in the past and thanked Channel 4 for the way the sensitive topic was handled.
He said: "If this show helps to clear even a fraction of the stigma associated with being an adult virgin, it will have all been worth it.
"Even if it doesn't, I know I got a lot out of it and I don't regret taking part at all."
Touchphobic Jason has come a long way since appearing on Virgin Island. In the first episode, he struggled to even graze another person's hand. He had a miraculous turnaround when he became the first person to strip in front of the others, saying "YOLO". While he didn't leave the show quite the "sex god" he said he would, he left with a lot more confidence.
Speaking in an interview, he said: "I've met a lot of people now and it's hard to put into words just how happy I am about this."
He added to The Sun: "If I'd never done the show, I would still be sitting there, in summer, long sleeves, coat on in Margate. I'd be on the beach with a cold one."
Nowadays, you can find Jason poking fun at himself on TikTok, saying in a recent video that he's a "grower not a shower".
It looks like the admin worker has changed fields and is now working in farming, based on various pictures on his Instagram which show him working with horses and cows. He's also earned a lot of new followers on TikTok, with fans dubbing him the "funniest" contestant on the show.
Drama student Tom, 24, has been spending lots of time with his pals since leaving the show. He's also been watching episodes of Virgin Island and commenting on them on his TikTok where he shares funny videos on events from the show. He recently shared the full version of his fantasy story, which viewers didn't get to see on the show.
Dog groomer Holly was 23 at the time of going on the Channel 4 show. Unlike the other cast members, she hasn't posted much on her Instagram about her time on the show, but she looks like she's been having a great time since filming wrapped.
In her bio, Holly says she "decided to start being hot again" and she's been posting lots of glam selfies. She recently posted a picture of her paragliding and has been doing some travelling as well. You go, Holly!
Virgin Island airs on Channel 4 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Selena Gomez's Bangs Are Actually a Wig—and Her Reason Is So Relatable

THE RUNDOWN Selena Gomez debuted blunt bangs this weekend—but they aren't a permanent change. This morning, the singer posted an Instagram showing off her wavy lob with messy bangs. She revealed it was a wig and explained in her caption why she can't commit to the cut. She wrote, 'I would, but I'd regret it, then get it redone so I simply won't #bangs.' Gomez first shared the snap of herself with bangs on Saturday. She had been posting to support her fiancé, Benny Blanco, who was performing at the Kids' Choice Awards. She followed up with a second Instagram Story, debunking fan speculation that she had chopped her hair. The actress wrote: 'It was a wiggly wig.' Gomez is back on Instagram after spending years away from the platform. During her Time100 Summit talk in 2024, the star discussed how the social media break changed her life. 'I took four years off of Instagram, and I let my team post for me for those years,' she began. 'I felt like it was the most rewarding gift I gave myself. I think people, especially young kids, it's—you're sitting there so focused on what looks wonderful when everything that's meant to be wonderful to you is not from here. [During my break], I was more present. I was happier. I would actually get real phone calls [from] people telling me about their story, and I could actually hear it instead of going, 'Oh, I already know what you did today.' It's more human.' She added that she is still careful with how she uses social media. 'It's important to take breaks,' she said. 'So I try to—I don't really pay much attention. I'll just do things here and there.'

Taking to her Instagram Stories that evening, the Broadway actress, 56, promoted a message about 'being disliked' as her spin on the national anthem made waves on social media. 'The price of authenticity is being disliked,' Chenoweth, an Oklahoma native, shared with her 1.5 million Instagram followers as the Thunder topped the Pacers, 103-91. ‘Professional girlfriend' makes $1,000 per date — but refuses money for this specific reason

For Ruby Jade, life as a 'professional girlfriend' was all funds and games until she met her perfect match — literally. Taking in over $1,300 per date from her male clients is like taking candy from a baby, says the 24-year-old escort. But when a fellow female fox hired her as arm candy for the night, the 'smitten' Gen Z refused to take a dime for her sex worker services. 'This was the first time I've dated a woman,' Jade, a pro-partner and stripper, from Brisbane, Australia, explained to What's The Jam. 'I knew immediately I didn't want her to pay a single penny to see me again. I was smitten.' 7 Ruby Jade says she always receives money for dates with men, but bent her rules for a woman client who immediately caught her eye. Ruby Jade / SWNS 'When I laid my eyes on her, something just clicked,' said the siren, 'it was a feeling I had never experienced before.' But, like most hotties-for-hire, the only thing Jade typically feels for her guy customers is a yearning for their earnings. While it might be considered the world's oldest profession to some, the 'professional girlfriend' gig — a woman who provides companionship and intimacy to a man in exchange for cash, trips and gifts — has become increasing popular over the past few years. Its recent uptick in trendiness can partly be attributed to the rising buzzy of NSFW platforms like OnlyFans, where virtual vixens make a killing by hawking hot adult content. 7 Hiring a professional girlfriend is making an agreement to transactional relationship, in which the client pays a woman for companionship and intimacy. boyloso – Lucy Banks, a single mom of two, is making bank, raking in $1,700 a day by selling the 'girlfriend experience' to her sex-obsessed OnlyFans subscribers. And Kiirmy, a professional paramour based in Mexico, pockets a cool $12,000 a month from men who happily hand over their moolah. 'It has to be a high price, because this is not something you normally do,' said Kiirmy, an OnlyFans star with over 226,000 Instagram followers. 'It's like a special occasion, and I encourage a lot of women not to [date] for free.' Jade is also a staunch believer in forcing fellas to fork over their funds. 7 Jade is reportedly close to becoming a millionaire, owing to her professional girlfriend status. Ruby Jade / SWNS With a reported net worth of nearly $1,000,000, the breadwinning brunette never accepts dates from men unless she's getting paid. The heartthrob has, too, made it a rule to never get 'physically involved' with patrons beyond holding hands. And her unbending bylaws are paying off in spades. Jade has already accepted over $4,000 in presents this year, including a five-star two-night trip, a brand new Amazon Alex hub and a handful of haute home goods. She's even been propositioned by a wannabe Romeo offering more than $9,800 for a single date. But, when it comes to her lady love interest, the Australian smoke-show says no to taking the woman's dough. 7 Jade is often showered with expensive gifts and trips, courtesy of her gentleman patrons. Ruby Jade / SWNS 7 Jade and her girlfriend both work as professional girlfriends, but don't get jealous when they're out on dates with men. Ruby Jade / SWNS 'I had met her before when she came into the strip club on her birthday and spent [a lot of money] on me,' Jade recalled of her new inamorata, whose name she chose not to disclose for privacy purposes. 'But I hadn't really spoken to her [in person] until she booked me for a paid date,' continued the looker. 'She was a fan of my TikTok, and had seen me at a local club a couple of times.' 'As it turns out, she also has men [pay] to spend time with her, so she understands the business.' The pro-girlfriends — who never experience jealousy when the other is out on a work date — are now officially a power couple, locked in a romantic relationship. However, the twosome has yet to seal the deal by doing the bedroom tango. 7 The Australian eyeful says she and her partner are waiting for the right time to have sex. Ruby Jade / SWNS 'All of these emotions and we haven't had sex yet,' Jade confessed. 'Because of our sex work, we have low drives anyway.' 'I'm just waiting for the right time; I want it to be special,' the head-turner added, admitting that she's grown accustomed to picking up 'the entire bill' for their date nights together. 'I don't want her to ever pay a penny to spend time with me,' said Jade, 'but we're going to split everything going forward to make it fair.' Their agreement to divide future costs 50/50 aside, Jade says she's getting the better end of their sweet setup. 7 Jade feels 'lucky' to have landed her beautiful lady love. Ruby Jade / SWNS 'She's absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and I feel extremely lucky,' Jade gushed. 'After going on all these dates with men, who thought I'd fall for my first woman client,' she continued. 'It's crazy what love can do to you.'
