As Major League Baseball celebrates Juneteenth and the Athletics celebrate African American Heritage Night at Sutter Health Park, the A's hope to squeeze out a series split against the Houston Astros tonight. After taking the first game of the series on a walk-off bomb by Nick Kurtz, Houston has totally dominated the next two games, outscoring the A's 24-7.
Taking the mound tonight for the A's is 27-year-old lefty Jacob Lopez. He's 1-4 on the season with a 4.80 ERA and forty strikeouts in nine appearances (five starts) and a total of thirty innings. He has never faced the Astros before in his three MLB seasons. Lopez will go up against 26-year-old lefty Colton Gordon for Houston.
