Deadline reports Colin Trevorrow is attached to direct a currently untitled film 'set in the late 1980s' that follows 'the local Las Vegas TV news journalist who first broke the story of Area 51.' Trevorrow will produce the project through his Metronome banner with the help of Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort.
Constantine 2
In conversation with The Direct, Peter Stormare suggested Keanu Reeves is unhappy with the current script draft for Constantine 2.
It's a lot of back and forth, because… I think Keanu [Reeves], which I know pretty good, is not so happy with the scripts and usually what comes out of the studios… Because the first one wasn't that successful in the beginning, it became a sleeper and became a cult movie, and now it is one of the biggest cult movies ever. But to do a sequel, the studios want to have, you know, cars flying in the air. They want to have people doing flip-flops and fighting action scenes.
It turns into an action movie, and not like going deeper and deeper into the characters. I think he wants to do his character again, Constantine, as grounded as it was in the first one. It took a long time for you to become a cult movie, it really worked, and it will work on the audience again. You don't have to add a lot of action and shootouts. You have other movies. Don't turn it into big Marvel… [Don't turn it] into us flying around in harnesses all the time and shooting each other up. Don't bring in the big guns. Let it be.
Fantastic Four: First Steps
In conversation with Empire, Ralph Ineson revealed he prepared for his role as Galactus by standing atop 'a lot of tall buildings.'
He's a cosmic force. He's a god, of sorts. [I drove through the tunnels of Mont Blanc] 'just imagining that as his windpipe and his trachea. I also went to a lot of tall buildings. We went to a wedding at the top of the Gherkin building in London, and I spent most of the afternoon just staring out, ruminating. I got in trouble with my wife — she was like, 'You've got to say hello to the bride and groom at some point!'

During a recent interview with Comic Book, Ready or Not screenwriter Guy Busick stated the upcoming sequel 'isn't even the same genre' as the first.

I don't think so. I mean it's been a long time now, so I am not really sure. I mean I would love to. I was supposed to make appearances and other things but it didn't end up working out and some logistical stuff and COVID stuff and I think also creative stuff. But I mean that was also an amazing show, but I dunno, I'm still waiting for the call to be honest.

In conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Wednesday co-creator Miles Millar reiterated the show's more horror-focused second season will still be family friendly.
Season 2 definitely has some moments which are more straightforward horror, and we're very aware that the show is watched by everybody in terms of the age groups. So we want to make sure that it's never torture porn, but that there's enough bite to it that it feels that there are real stakes and that people die in this world, and it's scary at moments. And I think that's the great tonal shift that the show makes between comedy and horror.

From Fallout's Walton Goggins to Game of Thrones's Kit Harington, Marvel fans are discussing the MCU's biggest wasted castings

The problem with building an ever-expanding universe of superheroes and villains for them to battle is that the cast list can't stop growing, often leading to some stars getting placed in roles when they could've been better used elsewhere. For example, as great as Mads Mikkelsen was as Kaecillius in Doctor Strange, it feels like the world will always have been missing a perfect pick for Magneto, or even Doctor Doom, because he's just that cool to handle either role. Unfortunately, he and a few other big names have also suffered for their spot in the MCU, and fans have recently taken to Reddit to lament how much they never got to show their full potential. One Redditor highlighted Walton Goggins in Ant-Man and the Wasp and Kit Harington in Eternals, when he took the role of Black Knight-to-be, Dane Whitman. There was also the criminally underused Bill Skarsgård as Kro (don't worry, we struggled to remember his appearance, too), as well as Katy M. O'Brien and William Jackson Harper in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Another fan argued there was still hope for some, though, writing, "I think Bill Skarsgard gets a pass here. Marvel could absolutely use him again, and a lot of people honestly don't even know that was him. I also have faith that we haven't seen the last of Goggins." One fan continued to support Goggins' reprisal of his role as black market dealer Sonny Burch, saying, "It's a damn shame that we haven't seen Goggins' character return yet. And it's a bigger shame that we haven't seen Sam Rockwell return either. Such a waste." The good news is that at this point, actors have played multiple roles in the MCU, and thanks to the multiverse, characters have and will be played by various actors, so some of these names can return in a different form. We'll keep an eye out in the hope that there's some space for the likes of Goggins, Harington, and more as the MCU powers on. Marvel Studios is stretching into meme territory with its latest movie tie-in collectible. A new popcorn bucket for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has hit the internet, and it features none other than Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic wrapped around the bucket. The container is gripped by Reed's outstretched, stretchy arm. It's a fun nod to his iconic powers and a rare bit of character-focused merch ahead of the movie's release. But of course, it didn't take long for the internet to... notice things. At just the right (or wrong?) angle, the elongated arm clinging to the bucket has prompted some spicy fan interpretations because, well, that's the internet. This is part of a growing line of First Steps tie-in buckets following the giant Galactus one. Thankfully, this Reed Richards version will only run you $39.99, not pocket change, but also not Galactus-sized debt. While the popcorn bucket is stirring conversation online, Pedro Pascal recently spoke to Empire about what drew him to the role of Marvel's most elastic intellectual. 'I see a limitless amount of layers to this character. He does the ultimate version of catastrophising. A brain that has an overview of threats on a mathematical level, but also being emotionally available. It was a fascinating contradiction.' The marketing machine is clearly warming up. Early tracking puts First Steps on pace for a $125 million to $155 million opening, which would be a much-needed win for the MCU. I know that the 2025 movie schedule just may prove us wrong, if it hasn't already, but I think the biggest WTF is about to be dropped onto the MCU table. That's because it's just been announced that another Marvel TV character is about to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 2026 slate, thanks to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. And considering who they brought in for No Way Home, this seems like a pretty dead giveaway. That's right, kids… it's Frank 'The Punisher' Castle! Jon Bernthal is now set to make his MCU debut on the big screen, as THR broke the news that he's now in director Destin Daniel Cretton's upcoming Marvel movie. That's surely enough to distract us all from trying to guess Sadie Sink's mysterious Brand New Day role, or what this means about Vincent D'Onofrio's 'off limits' comments when talking about a Kingpin intro, right? It's kind of wild that we're now seeing our second street level defender jumping in through the Spider-Man movies. As I previously alluded, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home before he made his huge resurgence in Daredevil: Born Again. And when it comes to Peter Parker (Tom Holland), having him potentially pick up The Punisher's anti-hero as a mentor makes sense, both in the comics and in the wake of No Way Home's ending. We're about to see Peter enter a new era of his life, where he'll potentially be balancing a job at the Daily Bugle and classes with Dr. Otto Octavius. Hence the Brand New Day subtitle, which also cleverly works in a reference to the comic arc that saw Peter Parker embark on a massive redo after the 'One Day More' arc. Maybe there's a clue to this upcoming team up that we've missed, hiding in plain sight.
