On3's Mick Walker reported that 2027 five-star quarterback Elijah Haven was set to visit the Buckeyes' campus on Thursday.
The highly regarded signal-caller could be closing in on an offer from Ohio State.
"Ohio State not offered the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Haven, but quarterbacks coach Billy Fessler has been evaluating him," Walker wrote on Wednesday.
On3 ranks Haven as the top quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 9 overall prospect.

Overall, he is ranked No. 22 in the class according to the composite rankings.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has projected Haven to land with the LSU Tigers. Haven also has the Michigan Wolverines high on his list of schools.

Walker wrote that the quarterback has also received offers from the Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes and Ole Miss Rebels.
But an offer from the reigning national champions could always shake things up.
Walker added Wednesday that Haven will be one of four Louisiana prospects in Columbus this week. The other three were expected to be wide receiver Miguel Whitley, offensive lineman Zyion Wesley and safety Emmanuel Moses.
On3's Mick Walker reported Monday that Ohio State was set to host six of the top 25 quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class at their summer camp this week.
The Buckeyes have already received two verbal commitments in the 2027 recruiting class, and one of them is a quarterback: four-star prospect Brady Edmunds.

Former Ohio State offensive lineman Kirk Barton charged after fatal crash

Former Ohio State offensive lineman Kirk Barton has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide following a fatal crash early Saturday in Dublin, Ohio. According to the City of Dublin, Barton, 40, is suspected of driving a Ford F150 Raptor pickup track "at a high rate of speed" before entering Historic Dublin, where he crashed into a Lexus on West Bridge Street around 3 a.m. Advertisement The driver of the Lexus, 24-year-old Ethan Perry, died on the scene, according to the city. Barton sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was eventually released from Riverside Methodist Hospital into Dublin Police custody, the city said. Barton was then moved to Franklin County Jail. NBC4 reported Saturday that Barton was charged with a second-degree felony count of aggravated vehicular homicide while operating a vehicle under the influence, according to Franklin County court records, which also show Barton has been charged with multiple traffic-related offenses in the past. Barton is scheduled for an arraignment Monday at 9 a.m., per NBC4. Advertisement Once a 2008 seventh-round NFL Draft pick of the Chicago Bears, Barton bounced around the league during his three-year pro career. In addition to the Bears, he also spent time with the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers. Barton played at Ohio State from 2003-07. He earned first-team All-American honors at right tackle in 2007. That season, the Buckeyes went 11-2 and finished No. 5 in the AP Poll. Ohio State was ranked the No. 1 team in the country before losing the BCS Championship to LSU 38-24.

Browns No. 1 Pick Named to Preseason All-Rookie Team

Browns No. 1 Pick Named to Preseason All-Rookie Team originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In this year's NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns passed up on a chance to take Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter when they traded the No. 2 pick to Jacksonville for the No. 5 pick and other draft capital. Advertisement With No. 5, they selected Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, who was one of the best players in the country at his position and could be a perfect fit for the Browns' defense. has selected Graham for its Preseason All-Rookie Team, as selected by writer Gennaro Filice. "Graham's NFL career, for better or worse, will always be compared to those of Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter," Filice wrote. "Cleveland had its pick of those two at No. 2, but the Browns decided to trade down, collecting valuable draft currency and ultimately selecting this prospect crop's top defensive tackle at No. 5. Top-five picks always face immense pressure to produce, but this juicy subplot brightens the spotlight. Working in Graham's favor: He gets to line up alongside the force of nature that is Myles Garrett. And he was one of the cleanest evals in this draft class, as a former wrestler who consistently wins with leverage, heavy hands and a non-stop motor. "I anticipate early game-wreckage, inherently spawning an unthinkable development: a whole bunch of Ohioans praising a Michigan man." Advertisement General manager Andrew Berry thinks Graham could immediately help the Browns' defense. "He is a DNA match for our defense, a disruptive interior penetrator ... we thought he was one of the more dominant trench prospects in this year's class," Berry said. Mizzou WR Cracks Prominent List After Luther Burden III's Departure

Mizzou WR Cracks Prominent List After Luther Burden III's Departure originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Pro Football Focus released an X post with its highest graded returning SEC wide receivers ahead of the 2025 season and Mizzou saw a wideout make the list for a second consecutive year. Advertisement Former Mississippi State WR Kevin Coleman Jr., who has one year of eligibility remaining, transferred to Mizzou at the end of last season and found himself on PFF's list as the No. 3 returning SEC wide receiver. During his 2024 season with the Bulldogs, Coleman had a career year, finishing with 74 receptions, 932 yards and six touchdowns — all of which are collegiate career highs for the St. Louis product. The 5-foot-11 WR spent his freshman season at Jackson State, before transferring to Louisville for his sophomore campaign. After a sophomore slump at Louisville, Coleman decided it was time to transfer to the SEC. Burden led the rankings in 2024, finishing with a grade of 88.9 (.4 ahead of Ole Miss' Tre Harris). Advertisement Coleman sits in third with a grade of 79.2 with Alabama's Germie Bernard (79.9) and Oklahoma's Javonnie Gibson (81.7) rounding out the Top 3. Oklahoma's Keontex Lewis (78.7), Ole Miss' De'Zhaun Strubling (77.7) and Arkansas' O'Mega Blake (76.9) round out the list. Notably, Alabama's Ryan Williams was left off the list, likely because he will be entering just his second season of college football. Coleman is expected to lead the Tigers' wide receiver room, with Marquis Johnson and Joshua Manning also likely to start. The team also acquired Illinois State's Xavier Loyd via the transfer portal from Illinois State. In his sophomore season the 6-foot-2 wideout had 66 receptions, 912 yards and six touchdowns. Loyd brings the team a solid fourth option at WR despite the QB race still being in full throttle. Advertisement With a revamped receiving corps, Missouri enters the 2025 season with one of the SEC's most dangerous wideout groups. As the quarterback competition unfolds, the Tigers' playmakers are already in place to give the eventual starter plenty of weapons to work with.
