Celestial Park: A gateway to Universal Orlando's Epic Universe
Universal Orlando's Epic Universe theme park will have five new lands, including Celestial Park, the "cosmic heart' at the front of Epic Universe.
ORLANDO, Fla. – From classic monsters to Super Nintendo to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and 'How to Train Your Dragon,' Universal's new Epic Universe theme park has a lot of deeply loved intellectual property — but one of its five worlds is entirely unique to Universal Orlando Resort.
Celestial Park is an original concept world, which Universal likes to say puts the park back into theme park. With elegant landscaping, shimmering fountains and fanciful art nouveau-inspired architecture, it runs through the heart of Epic Universe and serves as a thoroughfare to the other worlds as well as a place to rest and reset between them.
As the first world guests enter, either from the park's main entrance or rear entrance exclusive to Universal Helios Grand Hotel, there's no way to miss Celestial Park, but guests would sorely miss out if they don't experience it at night.
All five Epic Universe worlds are a sight to behold after dark, but Celestial Park was made for it.
At dusk, its synchronized lighting begins to glow with an ethereal warmth, transforming the already otherworldly scenery into a heavenly landscape.
Illuminated cars on the massive dueling coaster Stardust Racers resemble shooting stars as they speed along unlit tracks at night.
Constellation-inspired animals on glass-domed Constellation Carousel sparkle as they swirl like a cosmic ballet.
"If you think of the modern theme park, a lot of them are fantastic experiences, but a lot of them don't have the park-like experiences where you can meander and be in the shade and see water fountains and all these other very park-like experiences, which are super enjoyable, particularly for people who don't want to go on thrill rides," Steve Tatham, executive creative director for all of Epic Universe, told USA TODAY.
Meandering through Celestial Park at night is a must.

Still, an opening weekend tally of $24 million domestically falls far short of Box Office Pro's long-range tracking forecast from May 31, which pegged the film to open in the $35 million to $45 million range. Elio a lot of ground to make up in the long term, since the film cost $150 million before its marketing spend, Deadline noted. By contrast, Disney's Pixar's Inside Out 2 opened with $154.2 million from 4,440 North American theaters a little over a year ago. There's also one other newcomer this week — Bride Hard — though it's not opening nearly as wide as 28 Years Later or Elio. Directed by Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider helmer Simon West, Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp's action comedy Bride Hard is debuting in 2,000 theaters domestically. Bride Hard is the product of Magenta Light Studios, which distributed last summer's indie serial killer thriller Strange Darling. Charlie from 'Love Island USA' on Hannah and Pepe: 'How can I watch that?'
"Love Island USA" Season 7's Charlie Georgiou says the women were too loyal to Huda to vote her out of the villa, calling himself an "easy target." Charlie Georgiou is still reeling from being dumped by his fellow "Love Island USA" cast members. "It's savage; it's brutal," he tells USA TODAY. Since his villa roommates voted to oust him over the controversial Huda Mustafa and Taylor Williams, Charlie has been in a Fiji hotel room watching Netflix — and also catching up on the dozen Season 7 episodes in which the actor/model appeared. But the season's first male bombshell isn't eager to follow the most recent episodes, in which the woman he'd hit it off with, Hannah Fields, is happily moving on with Pepe Garcia-Gonzalez a day after uncontrollably sobbing over Charlie's departure. "When I was watching the episode of my departure, I saw that the next day, obviously they sent Pepe and Hannah and all the new couples on dates. And I was like, 'I can't watch that, man.' How can I watch that?" Charlie says. "Any human being wouldn't want to watch someone that they've just been establishing connections with go off and get to have this intimate experience with someone else." He adds, "Yeah, I don't want to watch the (newer) episodes. It's not a nice feeling. ... I'm just a bit worried I'll see something that makes me feel a bit (bad)."
