Publishing Standards: The ministry can issue, sell, and publish documents related to standards and measurements through its website.
Formation of a National Committee: A new 'National Committee for Standards and Measurements' will be formed, chaired by the minister and including members from relevant ministries, government bodies, and the private sector. The committee will serve four-year terms, renewable up to two times.
Ministerial Authority: The minister will issue decisions to adopt and approve national standards and technical regulations. These decisions will be officially published in the government's official gazette.
Regulating Use of National Standards: It is now a violation to sell or use national standards or technical terms and symbols without proper authorization.
Implementation
The law takes effect starting the day after its publication in the Official Gazette. The Prime Minister and relevant ministers are tasked with enforcing its provisions.
This move reflects Bahrain's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and integrity of its national standards in line with international best practices, supporting both public safety and private sector growth.

HM King appoints official to Prime Minister office

TDT | Manama His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Decree (34) of 2025, appointing an Assistant Undersecretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, based on a proposal by the Prime Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet. According to the decree, His Excellency Shaikh Abdullah bin Munther bin Majid Al Khalifa shall be appointed as the Assistant Undersecretary for the Development of the Government Performance at the Prime Minister's Office, succeeding Zeyad Adel Darwish. The Prime Minister shall implement this decree, which shall take effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Hundreds of Europeans repatriated from Israel

AFP | European countries on Wednesday repatriated hundreds of their citizens from Israel as its conflict with Iran raged, their respective foreign ministries said. Germany was expected to transport some 200 people via a commercial flight chartered in Jordan, its foreign ministry spokesman Christian Wagner said. A second flight out of Amman was scheduled for Thursday, he added. In Rome, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said flights had been made available to Italian nationals wishing to leave Israel. Greece said it had repatriated 105 of its citizens plus a number of foreign nationals. "The people repatriated were transported to Athens from Sharm El-Sheikh, in Egypt, onboard C-130 and C-27 Greek air force planes," it said in a statement. Along with Greek citizens and their families, other people on the flight included citizens of Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Germany, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States, it said. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said on X that a first group of Poles was able to return to their home country, with another flight scheduled for Thursday. In Sofia, a private plane with 148 evacuated people, including 89 Bulgarians, landed on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Foreigners have rushed to leave Israel after it launched an unprecedented bombing campaign last Friday targeting Iranian nuclear and military facilities, sparking retaliation from Tehran.
