Two well-dressed men could be seen beating on one another in a dramatic exchange in front of dozens of people, with in-person attendees and social media users left dumbfounded
Royal Ascot racegoers were captured violently brawling on camera in a dramatic exchange as temperatures approached 30C at the racegrounds for the second day in a row.
Two snappily dressed attendees were seen on camera fiercely trading blows in front of a stunned audience at the well-to-do Berkshire racecourse on Friday. Temperatures in Ascot, while not quite as hot as they were yesterday, still approached 30C, with 28C highs beating down on members of the public, many of whom were dressed in three-piece suits. Among them were the grey and beige suited fighters, who ferociously beat down on one another in a flurry of fists.
The video starts with the man in the beige suit managing to land an initial punch, before he is quickly overpowered by the man in a grey suit, who is crouched down in a boxing stance.
The two continue to hit and circle one another while a taller man in a waistcoat watches on, attempting to break up the two towards the end of the brief clip shared on social media. Large crowds full of dozens of other people wearing hats can be seen watching in shock from the background.
Others, some of whom are using umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun, appear almost oblivious to the events unfolding in front of them.
The fight only ends when the man who appeared to initiate the fight ends up hitting the concrete floor head first, with blood seen pouring from his face as his grey-suited rival is dragged away. While little could be heard in the video aside from audible shouts of "stop, stop!" social media commenters were much more vocal about the spectacle.
Most people commented on the difference between the two fighters, with one onlooker saying: "You can tell very clearly which guy knows how to fight haha."
Another added: "The guy in the grey suit has defo had some fight training and the other guy hasn't. Plain to see."
One commenter urged a little more decorum to reflect the status of the event, saying: "Imagine behaving like that at Royal Ascot. Irrespective of what's happened, go to the car park at least. Hope they get nicked."
Others appeared to have no issue with the fight at all, with one saying: "Good ol' fisty cuff's, rather a scene like this than a kid getting stabbed. Let em scrap."

Eustace had started the meeting that matters above all with a bang, when Docklands won the Queen Anne Stakes, but things got even better for the 37-year-old, who only started training in 2021; Time For Sandals might have been a 25/1 shot but she hit the line as powerfully as an odds-on favourite. There was heartbreak for connections of 28/1 runner-up Arizona Blaze, who wondered what might have happened had they been drawn on the far side of the track with Time For Sandals, but none of that diluted the wonderment which consumed Eustace. He's certainly bred for this job. His father, James, was an institution in Newmarket and won the 1998 Royal Hunt Cup here; his uncle, David Oughton, landed the Golden Jubilee Stakes in 2005, when Ascot was staged at York, from Hong Kong, where Harry's younger brother, David, now trains. Having the genes is one thing, being able to performer is another. Eustace dropped out of Edinburgh University, where he was studying chemistry, to pursue his dream of training good horses and the last four days, unequivocally, have shown that was the right call. He and jockey Gary Carroll are pillars of this sport in Ireland, the kind of men who keep the wheels turning on a daily basis but rarely get the credit they deserve.
