Telangana will be a $3 trn economy by 2047: Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has asserted that Telangana will be playing a pivotal role in the nation's economic growth, considering that the state is now in a mission mode to become a $ 3 trillion economy by 2047.
As part of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations on Monday, Revanth Reddy hoisted the tricolour at the Parade Grounds, after paying tributes to Telangana martyrs. Addressing the gathering later, he reiteratad Telangana Raising – 2047 action plan and said that the State government was not only promoting the State as one that would become a $1 trillion economy over the next 10 years, but also as one that would become a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
'Telangana Raising is regarded as the main instrument to achieve robust growth. The government has formulated plans to develop Telangana as the number one developed state in the country as well as in the entire world,' he said, while exhorting everyone's contribution to him in delivering transparent administration and ensuring comprehensive development of the state.
The Chief Minister recalled how Telanganites had struggled for decades to achieve statehood for the larger purpose of attaining emancipation, freedom, and equal opportunities. However, their aspirations remained unfulfilled despite the lapse of 10 years after the formation of Telangana state. 'Vexed Telangana people dethroned the dictatorial rule and gave a big mandate to the progressive People's government,' he said in a veiled reference to the previous BRS regime.
Revanth Reddy underscored the role of women and said that the state government already unveiled plans to make one crore women as millionaires and introduced the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme for the economic empowerment of the women community. He said for generating employment opportunities for youth, the Young India Skills University was established for development of skills among the youth and added that a Sports University would be opened soon to train youth as talented sportspersons could win Olympic medals.
Revanth Reddy said that the government had formulated plans to develop Future City in over 30,000 acres with state- of-the-art facilities. AI City, Pharma City, Sports City, Life Sciences and Health City were also being developed, he added. The Future City Development Authority had been constituted to take up such big projects.
On housing to the poor, the Chief Minister outlined the government's initiatives and said that the government was extending the Rs 5 lakh scheme benefit to beneficiaries under the Indiramma Housing scheme. 'The government is heading fast to construct 4.50 lakh Indiramma Houses with an outlay of Rs 22,500 crore. Rs one lakh scheme benefit had been disbursed to beneficiaries based on the status of the house construction. Rs 53.64 crore had been deposited in 5,364 beneficiaries' bank accounts until May 20 this year,' he mentioned.
Revanth Reddy said that the government was moving fast to promote the youngest state of Telangana as the best destination for global investments. 'We have achieved a remarkable milestone in attracting investments from global giant companies during my Davos, Singapore and Japan visits. State government inked agreements with various companies for more than Rs 3 lakh crore investments. IT giants like Google, Microsoft, Cognizant and HCL are already expanding their operations in Hyderabad. This could be the first stepping stone under the Telangana Raising,' he added.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented cash awards of Rs 1 crore each to nine eminent personalities for their contributions to the Telangana movement. Amongst the recipients include balladeer Gaddar, poet-singer Guda Anjaiah, and revolutionary poet Bandi Yadagiri. Their family members received the award posthumously.
Among other recipients were artistes Ande Sri, Suddala Ashok Teja, Jayaraj, Ekka Yadagiri Rao and Pasham Yadagiri (senior journalist). Noted poet and singer Goreti Venkanna, was represented by his daughter at the ceremony, as he is currently on a foreign tour. The Kaloji Award was given to poet Nalimela Bhaskar for his contributions to literature.

Over a month and a half after Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) MLA Jaikrishn Patel was caught allegedly taking a Rs 20 lakh bribe, the party said Sunday that it has concluded in its internal investigation that he was trapped as part of a 'political conspiracy'. Party's national president Mohan Lal Roat told The Indian Express that there are plenty of things pointing towards a political conspiracy. 'There are discrepancies in the press conference by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (following Patel's arrest) and the FIR lodged in the case. It is said there were about 48 calls between the two (MLA Patel and complainant Ravindra Kumar). But our MLA replied 1-2 times but most of the calls were by him (Kumar).' Next, Roat questioned the idea of money being given in lieu of 'withdrawing' three Assembly questions when two of these were already answered last year and were in the public domain. 'What was the idea behind taking money to 'withdraw' the questions put up in July last year, when the government had clearly and promptly answered those questions.' Party MP Rajkumar Roat too has questioned the circumstances, saying, 'Since 1952, there must have been about 3,000 MLAs in Rajasthan; excluding those who repeated, there must have been 2,000 to 2,500 MLAs so far in the state. But this was the first time an MLA was trapped. From what our team has investigated, he was trapped as part of a conspiracy.' 'The person on the other end called 40-42 times. Why would the person, who was the MLA candidate for the now ruling party, get scared and give a bribe to the MLA of a regional party? This was planning and this was a conspiracy,' the MP said, referring to complainant Ravindra Kumar's father Ramniwas Meena. While Ravindra Kumar had contested 2023 Assembly elections from Karauli as a BSP candidate and stood third – behind BJP and Congress candidates – his father, Ramniwas Meena and co-owner of the mines, had contested the 2023 election from Todabhim on a BJP ticket but lost to Congress's Ghanshyam Mahar. On May 4, first-time MLA Patel, and a middleman Vijay Patel were arrested by the ACB for allegedly accepting a Rs 20-lakh bribe – the second instalment of a Rs 2.5 crore bribe – in lieu of withdrawing Assembly questions on mining. The ACB had said this was the first instance of it arresting an MLA in the state, and the mines in question are in Todabhim, about 600 kilometres away from the MLA's constituency in Banswara. Party chief Roat said that things would be clearer once they get to meet the MLA. 'We haven't been able to meet the MLA. They are not giving us time to meet, (but once this happens) this will help us clear more things. Moreover, the BJP candidate too had said that he won't let him (Patel) stay around for more than six months,' he said, referring to BJP leader Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya. 'So, due to all of this, we have concluded that he was trapped as part of a conspiracy,' the party chief said. Malviya was elected from Bagidora Assembly in 2023 on a Congress ticket but had left the party to join the BJP last year. He had then unsuccessfully contested the Banswara Lok Sabha (which includes Bagidora Assembly) against BAP's Rajkumar Roat. In the Bagidora bypoll too, BAP's Jaikrishn had defeated BJP's Subhash Tamboliya by a convincing margin of over 51,000 votes. The party's five-member team which investigated the case included party's three MLAs Umesh Meena (Aaspur), Thavar Chand (Dhariyawad), Anil Kumar Katara (Chorasi), party's national spokesperson Jitendra Meena, and party leader Kanti Bhai. MP Roat also said that Patel was 'trapped by people in power as part of a conspiracy. And the people have understood, because the Panchayat Samiti seat which the BJP had won earlier with 600 votes, lost in the by-election. The people have given a befitting reply.' 'We know that if he has made a mistake then his membership might be terminated. But we will have more clarity only once we meet him, and what is said in the chargesheet etc,' party's national president Mohan Lal Roat said.

Revanth Government Hesitating to Conduct Local Body Elections, Alleges BJP in Ayija
Gadwal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Ayija town have strongly criticized the Telangana state government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, for its continued delay in conducting local body elections. Addressing a press conference organized at the BJP office in Ayija, the town BJP president Kampati Bhagat Reddy accused the state government of intentionally avoiding the elections due to a lack of courage to face the people. He reminded the media that the schedule for these elections was expected to be announced in mid-February this year, yet there has been no progress since. > 'Despite knowing that the delay in conducting local body elections may lead to the stoppage of central government funds, the Revanth government continues to procrastinate,' Bhagat Reddy stated. The 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments were introduced to empower rural and urban local bodies respectively, promoting decentralization, self-governance, and accountability. However, the state government, he claimed, is ignoring this spirit by bypassing elected local bodies and instead routing development activities through various non-representative institutions. > 'Such parallel institutions do not reflect the aspirations and needs of the local population,' he argued, adding that strengthening Panchayats would reduce the financial burden on the state treasury and lead to more sustainable development. Bhagat Reddy accused the government of weakening the financial and administrative autonomy of Panchayats for the sake of maintaining political and economic control, thereby undermining transparency and local governance. He further alleged that the Revanth Reddy-led administration is avoiding elections not only because of public dissatisfaction but also due to internal issues within the ruling party. These include: Failure to implement six key promises made during the elections, A governance paralysis due to the state's reluctance to release funds even for minor works, Lack of coordination among ministers, Public dissatisfaction voiced openly by several MLAs, And the absence of constituency development funds, making it difficult for MLAs to face their constituents. 'Even after more than one and a half years since the expiration of the term of the local body representatives, the government has not provided any clarity on when the elections will be held,' he added. The press meet witnessed participation from other BJP leaders including SC Morcha State Executive Committee member Madanna, Town Vice Presidents Bellamkonda Nagaraju and Veeresh Goud, as well as Lakshmanachari, G. Raghu, Madhavachari, and Raju. They collectively demanded that the state government honor the Constitution, empower local self-governments, and immediately announce the election schedule for Panchayat and municipal bodies.

Patna: A day after CM Nitish Kumar announced a nearly three-fold increase in social security pensions, a war of words has begun in the state with the ruling JD(U)-BJP alliance and the opposition RJD trading accusations of imitation and inaction ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections. On Saturday, the govt raised the monthly pension for widows, the elderly and the differently abled from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100.
