Varun Dhawan unveils fresh look from ‘Border 2' as production moves forward with Pune schedule
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan unveiled his fresh look on Saturday, as the next schedule of the upcoming film 'Border 2' progressed in Pune. The war epic's new schedule is currently underway at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune.
Varun Dhawan, who plays a key role in the film, was recently spotted on set sporting a clean-shaven look. This marked a sharp contrast from his previously seen moustache look during the earlier shoot. The actor was dressed in a checkered orange-and-white shirt, and was seen interacting with fans at the location. The new phase of filming indicates a shift in narrative progression as the production moves ahead at a brisk pace.
The visuals come after the film's initial schedule had generated substantial buzz earlier this year, with images of Varun Dhawan from the set going viral.
The film is directed by Anurag Singh, and brings together a stellar ensemble including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film aims to celebrate unsung stories from the Indian armed forces.
It boasts of scale, emotion, and authenticity at its core, and promises to be a tribute to the spirit of the Indian soldiers. As filming continues across key locations, the team remains focused on crafting a cinematic experience that honors the legacy of the original while presenting a fresh and powerful narrative for a new generation.
The film is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta's J.P. Films. This sequel continues the legacy of honouring the heroism and indomitable spirit of Indian soldiers, taking audiences on a spectacular journey of patriotism, courage, and sacrifice.
'Border 2' is set to arrive in cinemas on January 23, 2026.

Ranthambore Tigress Arrowhead Dies At 14. Watch Her Last Walk
Last Updated: A heartfelt Instagram post by a wildlife photographer featured a video capturing the final walk of Arrowhead, the beloved tigress of Ranthambore. Arrowhead, the tigress who once dominated the core of Rajasthan's Ranthambore, has passed away at the age of 14. A touching video shared by a wildlife photographer captures her final moments, offering a glimpse into her last few hours. According to NDTV, Tigress Arrowhead (T-84), a favourite among wildlife enthusiasts and Ranthambore visitors, died earlier this week. Her death occurred just hours after her daughter was moved to another tiger reserve. The news of Arrowhead's death has deeply saddened wildlife photographers, forest staff, and frequent safari visitors. One of them, nature photographer Sachin Rai, had been following her story since she was a cub. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rai shared a video of what he described as her 'last walk," recorded near Padam Talab on June 17. In his post, Rai recalled witnessing Arrowhead's final moments on the evening of June 17. 'On the evening of June 17th, I witnessed what would likely be the last walk of the legendary tigress Arrowhead. It was heartbreaking to see her struggle, attempting to rise and take a few feeble steps before collapsing again," he wrote in his lengthy post. He described how Arrowhead, weakened by illness, moved with great difficulty, barely managing a few steps before resting beneath a tree. 'Each movement was a visible effort. In that quiet moment, I knew in my heart that the end was near," he added. But Rai's tribute extended beyond those last moments. He looked back on her remarkable journey—from a young cub to a dominant tigress who once claimed the very lands her mother ruled. 'I have followed Arrowhead's journey since she was a tiny cub. From those early days to watching her grow into a powerful tigress, every chapter of her life was a testament to resilience," he also explained. Posted on June 19, the video has garnered over 6.3 million views, drawing an outpouring of love and grief from social media users who were moved by Arrowhead's final moments. A user said, 'Heartbreaking to see a tiger like this." Another wrote, 'So graceful and resilient. Even in these last few moments. A symbol of strength." 'A wonderful legacy, but my heart breaks to see this queen in pain. She is now at peace," a user wrote on Instagram. 'May the queen find the eternal rest she deserves," an individual commented. Who was Arrowhead? Arrowhead came from Ranthambore's famed tiger lineage, being the daughter of Krishna (T-19) and the granddaughter of the iconic tigress Machhli (T-16). Known to many as the 'Queen of Ranthambore', she held a special place in the hearts of wildlife lovers. Forest officials reportedly revealed that she had been suffering from advanced bone cancer and was being closely monitored during her final weeks.

Umrao Jaan set for 4K revival as Rekha-starrer cult classic re-releases in theatres on June 27
The courtesan of Lucknow is poised for her grand return. On June 27, Muzaffar Ali 's celebrated 1981 masterpiece Umrao Jaan will be re-released in theatres in a digitally restored avatar, promising audiences a cinematic journey steeped in poetry, pain, and poignancy. Backed by the National Film Development Corporation and the National Film Archive of India , the film has been revived under the National Film Heritage Mission, marking a significant moment for Indian cinephiles. Rekha's Finest Hour At the heart of Umrao Jaan lies an iconic performance by Rekha, whose portrayal of the 19th-century tawaif earned her the National Award for Best Actress. Director Muzaffar Ali, speaking to SCREEN, reflected on her layered preparation: 'She had to prepare on many levels—language, singing, dancing. Yes, there were people to guide her, but she performed beyond expectations.' He added, 'Working with her was a gift because this film is woven from quiet emotions. And it takes an actor like her to absorb those feelings and translate them onto the screen.' For many, Rekha did more than just play Umrao—she became her. Her haunting eyes, graceful dance, and restrained agony turned the film into one of Indian cinema 's most soul-stirring experiences. View this post on Instagram A post shared by PVR Cinemas (@pvrcinemas_official) Guns, Grit, and Gharanas Ali also recounted a fascinating moment from the shoot, revealing how a group of fans in Malihabad—some armed—eagerly stormed the set to catch a glimpse of Rekha. 'It wasn't as scary as it sounds,' he said with a smile. 'They were thrilled. And later, I even cast them in the film. You see, I made them all decoys, using the very same guns they'd brought.' The anecdote captures the fevered fandom the actress commanded even in the early '80s. A Story Both Historic and Haunting Adapted from Mirza Hadi Ruswa's 1899 Urdu novel Umrao Jaan Ada, the film tells the tale of Amiran, abducted and sold into a Lucknow kotha, who later reinvents herself as the poetess and courtesan Umrao Jaan. Her entanglements with three men—portrayed by Farooque Shaikh, Raj Babbar, and Naseeruddin Shah—form the emotional skeleton of a film that meditates on longing, identity, and the impossible pursuit of love. 'The idea was always about this girl, set a hundred years ago, yet facing something timeless,' he said. Songs that Echo Through Time No tribute to Umrao Jaan is complete without its music. Composed by the maestro Khayyam with lyrics by Shahryar and soulfully rendered by Asha Bhosle , the soundtrack has attained immortal status. 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai,' 'In Ankhon Ki Masti Ke,' and 'Yeh Kya Jagah Hai Doston' remain cultural touchstones, instantly evoking the film's melancholic grandeur. — nfdcindia (@nfdcindia) In an era dominated by loud visuals and quick-paced edits, Umrao Jaan is a gentle reminder of cinema as an art of stillness and silence. Its return to theatres is not just nostalgia—it's a statement. It invites newer generations to witness a kind of storytelling where poetry meets performance, and silence often says more than words.
