ACAP third-grade test results released — how Baldwin and Mobile schools scored (complete list)

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Alabama Comprehensive Assessment of Progress third-grade scores have been released by the Alabama State Department of Education.

According to the results, Orange Beach and Satsuma city schools are the only school districts in the viewing area that had 100% of their students make above the cut-off score, which is 444.
The 2019 Alabama Literacy Act was created to help improve reading skills and ensure that students are reading on grade level by the end of the third grade.
In Mobile County, 3,891 third-graders were tested, with 626 of those being below grade level and 3,265 being on or above grade level.
As for Baldwin County, 2,395 third-grade students took the assessment. 246 students scored below level and 2,149 students scored on or above level.

A 22-year-old Tuscaloosa man died June 21 in single-vehicle crash about six miles east of the city of Tuscaloosa, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Marcos Morales was driving a 2018 Ford F150 on Keenes Mill Road near Hurricane Road around 11 p.m. when his vehicle left the road. Morales' vehicle struck an embankment and hit a tree before catching fire, troopers said. He was ejected from the Ford F150 and pronounced dead at the scene. The Berks County sheriff's office is seeking the following fugitives: Walter Singleton • Walter Singleton, 42, whose last known address was in the 700 block of North 12th Street, Reading, is wanted on receiving stolen property charges. Bern Township police said Singleton was involved with an organization in which Fed Ex employees stole cellphones and returned them for payment in 2023. Investigators determined the scheme resulted in a total loss of $40,207. Charges were filed June 24. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches and 180 pounds. Denise Osorio • Denise Osorio, 33, whose last known address was in the 100 block of West Douglass Street, Reading, is wanted on intimidation, retaliation, or obstruction in child abuse cases charges. Berks County detectives said Osorio failed to comply with an ongoing investigation, failed to protect victims and interfered with an investigation into sexual and physical abuse allegations. Charges were filed on May 14, 2024. She is described as 5 feet 6 inches and 125 pounds. Family of missing Albertville teen offering $3,000 reward for information leading to safe return

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The family of Kensleigh Shelton has raised the reward money for information that leads to her safe return. Kesha Holman, Kensleigh's mother, announced on Saturday that the reward money has been raised from $1,200 to $3,000. 15-year-old Kensleigh has been missing since Monday, with few answers about where she is or what happened the night she disappeared. According to family members, Kensleigh was last seen wearing white pajama pants, a pink PCB hoodie and black shoes. She is 5'4 and weighs around 100 pounds. Family members told News 19 that the teen may be traveling in a red Ford F-250 pickup truck with chrome rims, last seen in the area on the night of her disappearance. They are willing to do whatever to bring her home.
