England captain Harry Kane played a decisive role in Bayern Munich's 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors on June 20, sending his side into the FIFA Club World Cup knockout stage with a game to spare.
Kane opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing calmly from 10 yards out following sustained Bayern pressure.

Boca levelled through Miguel Merentiel, who curled in a well-placed equaliser early in the second half.
With just six minutes remaining, Kane provided the decisive moment again — poking the ball through to Michael Olise.
The former Crystal Palace winger struck a composed, side-footed winner from the edge of the box to seal Bayern's place in the next round.
'Big performance from the guys,' Kane told DAZN after being named player of the match. 'We knew it wasn't going to be easy and we knew we were coming into a hostile environment. It is great to get the goal and qualify.'
Kane added: 'It is a massive tournament, playing against the best teams in the world, but it is us against us. That is the mindset and we have to compete at our best level. So far, so good.'

Bayern need just a point against Benfica in their final Group B fixture to guarantee top spot. That could set up a last-16 meeting with Chelsea, should the Premier League side finish second in their group.
Enzo Maresca's Chelsea currently sit second after falling 3-1 to Flamengo on Friday.
The only concern for Vincent Kompany's side was the sight of Jamal Musiala limping off midway through the second half, having only come on as a substitute.
The extent of the Germany midfielder's injury remains unclear.
Boca Juniors' defeat ended a nine-match unbeaten run for South American teams in this revamped tournament. The Argentine club still have a slim chance of progressing, but would need Benfica to lose heavily and must overturn a seven-goal swing.

Flamengo rally past Chelsea to secure FIFA Club World Cup knockouts spot

Flamengo stormed into the FIFA Club World Cup knockout stage with a 3-1 comeback victory over Chelsea in their Group D encounter at Lincoln Financial Field on June 20. Pedro Neto put Chelsea in front in the 13th minute, intercepting a misplaced pass in midfield and slotting home past Flamengo goalkeeper Agustin Rossi. The Brazilian side regrouped after the break and equalised in the 62nd minute when Bruno Henrique found the net following a clever knockdown by Gonzalo Plata. Three minutes later, Henrique turned provider, setting up Danilo from a corner to give Flamengo a 2-1 lead. Chelsea's hopes of recovery faded when Nicolas Jackson was sent off in the 68th minute, reducing them to ten men. Flamengo extended their advantage in the 83rd minute as Wallace Yan finished off a low cross from Plata, capping off a dominant second-half display. Salah in line for Player of Year award

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was among six players nominated for the Professional Footballers' Association Men's Player of the Year award on Friday. The 33-year-old played a key role in Liverpool's Premier League title triumph last season with 29 goals and 18 assists. The Egypt star was voted Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association — securing almost 90 percent of the votes, marking the biggest winning margin this century — and is the firm favourite to land the PFA prize. Salah is joined on the shortlist by Liverpool team-mate Alexis Mac Allister, Arsenal's Declan Rice, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes. Palmer, who won the PFA Young Player of the Year award for 2023-24, was a surprise choice for the list given his struggles for Chelsea last season. Rice starred in midfield for Arsenal, hitting a career-high nine goals while adding 10 assists in 52 appearances in all competitions. Sweden striker Isak scored 23 goals for Newcastle as they qualified for the Champions League and ended a 56-year trophy drought by winning the League Cup. Fernandes was one of United's few bright spots in the club's worst top-flight campaign since 1973-74, with eight league goals and 10 assists. This year's awards ceremony will be held in Manchester on August 19. Liverpool agree deal for Bournemouth's Kerkez: reports Liverpool have agreed to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in a deal worth a reported £40 million ($54 million), according to reports on Friday. Kerkez is due to travel to Merseyside for a medical before completing his move to the Premier League champions. The 21-year-old caught Liverpool's eye last season with his fine form for Bournemouth, including two goals and five assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
