NYC man wanted undercover cop and his mom to harm ex-girlfriend, authorities say
NEW YORK (PIX11) – A Queens man is accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend and recruiting his mother and an undercover NYPD officer to harm her, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Wednesday.
Brayahan Agudelo, 31, is accused of burglary, strangulation, stalking, menacing, and other crimes, court documents revealed. On multiple occasions in April, he threatened his ex-girlfriend, police said.

In one instance, Agudelo wrapped his arms around the victim's neck and applied pressure, causing her to lose consciousness while her 2-year-old daughter was present, according to court documents. When police were called, the defendant had left.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.
On a separate occasion, Agudelo is accused of entering his former girlfriend's home, brandishing a knife, and threatening her. When she tried to flee the apartment, he grabbed her hair to stop her from leaving and took her cell phone, according to court documents.
The victim was able to escape and opened her front door to yell for help. Agudelo yet again fled the apartment, police said.
On the same day he attacked his girlfriend, Agudelo allegedly engaged in a conversation with an undercover police officer, asking the cop if he could 'make his wife a paraplegic.' Agudelo and the undercover detective agreed on a payment and a date for when the attack would occur, according to court documents.
Agudelo was arrested the next day.

However, this didn't stop him from enlisting his mother to reportedly terrorize his ex-lover. On April 28 and 29, while in jail, the defendant called his mother, Maria Cruz. He directed her to go to his ex-girlfriend's home and her grandchildren's school to convince the victim not to testify against him, prosecutors said.
Agudelo told his mother to confront the former girlfriend with his brother so one could restrain and beat her while the other spoke to her, violating an order of protection against him, authorities said.
Cruz reportedly told her son she followed his instructions, but the victim was not home, according to court documents.
Agudelo faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted. His mother faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted, court documents stated.

The death of Food Network star Anne Burrell is being investigated as a possible drug overdose by the New York City Police Department, according to an internal document seen by The New York Times. Burrell, host of Worst Cooks in America and who appeared on Chef Wanted, Chopped, and Food Network Star, was found dead at her Brooklyn home on Tuesday morning. The document said Burrell, 55, was 'discovered in the shower unconscious and unresponsive surrounded by approximately (100) assorted pills.' Without naming Burrell but confirming details of the incident, including time, location, age, and sex of the deceased, a spokesperson for the NYPD told The Independent that the chief medical examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time. Earlier reports suggested a possible cardiac arrest, citing the 911 call made that morning. The New York-born chef most recently appeared in the cooking competition show House of Knives, which premiered in March. However, in January, fans were surprised when she did not return as the host of the new season of Worst Cooks. Neither she nor the network provided an explanation for the change. In a January 10 Instagram post celebrating an event at Madison Square Garden, cheering on the New York Rangers and serving up a steak pizzaiola hero, fans expressed dissatisfaction with her absence from the show in their comments, many saying they missed her. Burrell replied to one question as to why she wasn't hosting: 'Honestly I don't know.' The Times reports that on the night before her death, Burrell had performed improv for the first time at the Second City New York in Brooklyn, where she had been taking classes. Friends and colleagues said she had recently spoken about taking on some new projects. Chef Andrew Zimmern, who had been with her a few months ago for a food festival in Puerto Rico, said, 'She definitely had something cooking.' 'She was excited about whatever it was she was working on,' he added. A week ago, Burrell attended a special event hosted by Chef Elizabeth Falkner at the Soho House in New York City. The two had been fierce competitors on The Next Iron Chef in 2011 and had lost touch, but they recently started texting more, Falkner told the Times. 'It was so fun to see her. She seemed really content, like there was a warmer side coming out,' Falkner recalled. 'She hung out all night. When she was leaving, she goes, 'I am so glad we have reconnected. Crazed stalker stabs two good Samaritans walking NYC woman who thought she was being followed home
A crazed stalker viciously stabbed two good Samaritans trying to walk a Brooklyn woman who believed she was being followed home. The suspect — a 5'8″ male with dark skin — knifed a 26-year-old man in the chest and shoulder and a 29-year-old man in the face around 1:30 a.m. in Kensington Saturday, according to the NYPD. Both victims had gone out of their way to help the woman after seeing a local social media alert about a stalker, and when they arrived at the reported address, they were accosted by the knife-wielding suspect. Officials cited no credible threats at this time but highlighted the need for vigilance.
