Clemson freshman announces transfer portal destination, joins Big 12 program
A former Clemson Tiger has found his new home for the 2026 college baseball season.
TP Wentworth, who appeared in 26 games for the Tigers during his freshman season in 2025 and made 12 starts, announced in a post to Instagram late Wednesday that he was transferring to Oklahoma State in the Big 12.
Wentworth started in right field for Clemson down the stretch, beginning with the Tigers' final regular season series at Pittsburgh on May 16 and through all four games of the ACC Tournament in Durham. He batted .220 with three doubles and seven RBIs in 26 games.
On the mound, Wentworth appeared in 11 games and tossed nine innings, allowing eight runs on 10 hits for an 8.00 ERA while striking out eight batters and walking five.
Wentworth was one of two former Clemson players to announce new destinations for the 2026 season on Wednesday. Left-hander Ethan Darden, who spent the past three seasons with the team, announced his commitment to Texas A&M earlier in the day.

It was a very good recruiting weekend for Notre Dame football, one that saw 2026 Arizona wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald having great time during his visit, which also saw a projection for him to land in South Bend. On Tuesday another development in his recruitment happened, as Rivals Adam Gorney posted on social media that the 6-foot, 2-inch and 195-pound prospect has canceled his upcoming visit to North Carolina. Notre Dame added its second 2026 recruit of the day as safety Joey O'Brien committed
It has been a huge week for Notre Dame football recruiting, as they added offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh, cornerback Khary Adams and now safety Joey O'Brien to its 2026 class. The Irish beat out Clemson, Oregon, and Penn State for the O'Brien's verbal, putting the class at No. 19 players. The addition of the 6-foot, 3-inch and 185-pounder continues Notre Dame's hot streak, one that got started last weekend with each one of this week's commitments making their official visits. The future for the Irish secondary is extremely bright, as O'Brien, Adams, and safety Ayden Pouncey are all considered some of the best players in the country. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Notre Dame was able to land each one of these prospects, as they've recently sent multiple defensive backs to the NFL. This could very well end up being head coach Marcus Freeman's best effort on the recruiting trail, as there is still room to add more than a few top players, along with already having one of the country's best collection of commitments. This class should be another piece of the puzzle to keep Notre Dame among the top teams in all of college football.
