JoSAA counselling round 1 reporting extended till June 22, 2025.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has extended the Round 1 online reporting deadline for JEE-Advanced/JoSAA Counselling 2025, offering much-needed relief to candidates across the country.
Originally scheduled from June 14 to June 18, 2025, this phase required students to accept their allotted seats by uploading documents, submitting the seat acceptance fee, and indicating their willingness (freeze/float/slide).
However, due to logistical challenges and technical issues reported by several students, JoSAA has revised the schedule, extending the final reporting date to 5 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

What candidates need to do
Candidates who have not completed their round 1 reporting process yet can do it online by June 22, 2025. Here is how:
Visit the official JoSAA website at josaa.nic.in.
Log in with your credentials to access your Round 1 seat allotment.
Upload all required documents and pay the seat acceptance fee.
Complete the physical or online verification as instructed by your allotted institute.
What happens after round 1?
Once round 1 reporting is complete, JoSAA will release the Round 2 seat allotment result on June 24, 2025. Candidates who want to participate in further rounds must ensure they've completed the current steps successfully. Failure to report by the deadline will result in cancellation of the allotted seat and removal from subsequent counselling rounds.

THENI: The state government established residential schools across Tamil Nadu in 2022 to prepare students for competitive exams including NEET, JEE and CLAT. A bunch of students from the first batch of the model school in Theni have secured admission in engineering and law courses in central government educational institutions. According to sources, the school gave coaching to 102 students, of which 40 each appeared for NEET and JEE respectively, and 22 sat for CLAT. Of these, seven scored between 200 and 300 marks in NEET. The rest of the students just managed pass mark. R Naveenkumar, the school topper, secured 464 out of 720 marks. Among the 40 who appeared for JEE, three have got admission in IIT- Bhubaneshwar. Four students bagged admission in Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI). After clearing CLAT, three students have got admission in Dr Ambedkar Law University while another students got admission in Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam. Speaking to TNIE, the HM of Theni model school C Mutharasppan said unlike the other schools which admitted Class XI and XII students, his school took in students who were in Class IX. " The teachers made students revise the lessons thoroughly several times and it has produced good results. Naveenkumar, who topped the school in NEET, will not get the 7.5% quota reserved for government school students as had studied in an aided school", he said.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the revised counselling schedule today, June 20, on the official website at According to the revised schedule, the resolution of fee payment issues for candidates who have made payment attempts before the payment deadline can be done on June 23. Following this, they can respond to queries raised during Round 1 by June 24. The JoSAA Round 2 seat allotment result for 2025 will be announced on June 25. The schedule has been revised after the authority extended the round 1 counselling 2025 online reporting and fee payment deadline till June 22. 'Candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 1 and did not complete the online reporting process, can now submit their willingness (Freeze/Float/Slide), upload all the necessary documents and pay the Seat Acceptance Fee till the above mentioned deadline," reads the official notice. Candidates who have paid the Seat Acceptance Fee via the pre-payment option must, by June 22, indicate their preference (Freeze, Float, Slide) and upload all necessary documents.
