2025 UFL Power Rankings: Battlehawks enter postseason on top

Fox Sports02-06-2025

With the 2025 UFL regular season coming to an end, only one of three Texas teams will finish with a losing record, while the defending UFL champion Birmingham Stallions are rounding into playoff form.
Meanwhile, the St. Louis Battlehawks, winners of six straight heading into the postseason, look every bit as capable of winning their first spring league title.
That said, here's a look at my updated UFL Power Rankings following Week 10: 8. San Antonio Brahmas (1-9)
Current odds to win 2025 title: N/A
Jashaun Corbin ended the season with the UFL rushing title after picking up 55 yards on 10 rushes in the final week of the season. But that's about all the Brahmas will take with them in a season where former head coach Wade Phillips stepped down and Payton Pardee was thrust into the interim head coaching role.
The Brahmas, who made the UFL title game a year ago, will enter this offseason looking to rebuild into a team capable of playing in the 2026 postseason. 7. Memphis Showboats (2-8)
Current odds to win 2025 title: N/A
Not unlike the Brahmas, the Showboats dealt with head coach Ken Whisenhunt stepping down before a third of the season was finished. 6. Houston Roughnecks (5-5)
Current odds to win 2025 title: N/A
CJ Johnson should be a candidate for UFL Coach of the Year. The Roughnecks won four of their last six games this season. Johnson's decision to play and then stay with QB Jalan McClendon was one of the biggest reasons why the Roughnecks get to go into the offseason without a losing record. 5. Arlington Renegades (5-5)
Current odds to win 2025 title: N/A
After completing 26 of 32 passes for 283 yards in the Renegades' Week 10 win over the Brahmas, Luis Perez won the UFL passing title with 2,298 yards while completing more than 70% of his passes this season. He has been the most consistent QB in the league, and he has shown himself to be one of the two best QBs in the league over the past three weeks.
The Renegades scored 20 points in the second quarter and held that advantage until the Brahmas scored their final points of the season in the fourth quarter. 4. DC Defenders (6-4)
Current odds to win 2025 title: +450
In a sloppy-field, rain-delayed final game of the season and with presumptive MVP Jordan Ta'amu on the sideline, the Defenders' offense looked like a shell of itself. Even so, backup QB Mike DiLiello accounted for 202 total yards and a touchdown against the regular-season XFL Conference champion Battlehawks. As this game acted as a preliminary for the XFL Conference Championship Game, no one was expected to show much.
Interim coach Shannon Harris didn't want to jeopardize the health of his star player before the postseason, and that's understandable. But that also means the Defenders bring a two-game losing streak with them to St. Louis. 3. Michigan Panthers (6-4)
Current odds to win 2025 title: +255
Without QB Bryce Perkins, the Panthers missed the kind of playmaking that led to them qualifying for the USFL Conference Championship Game. Backups Danny Etling and Rocky Lombardi completed just 13 of 30 passes for 124 yards with two interceptions.
The Panthers take a two-game losing streak into the postseason against the defending UFL and three-time spring football league champion Stallions. 2. Birmingham Stallions (7-3)
Current odds to win 2025 title: +235
Behind two pick-sixes from linebacker Tae Crowder, the Stallions left no doubt about how they're rounding into form right when they need to with two games left to play for a possible fourth consecutive spring football championship.
After playing five different quarterbacks in a 10-week season, Skip Holtz looks to have found his postseason starter in J'Mar Smith, who finished 13-of-17 for 127 yards with a touchdown in a Week 10 win over Memphis. The Stallions have won four of their last five, with their only loss coming by a single point to the Battlehawks. 1. St. Louis Battlehawks (8-2)
Current odds to win 2025 title: +200
The Battlehawks cemented their position as the best team in the regular season in 2025 with a workmanlike win against the second-best team in the XFL Conference and their starting quarterback, Max Duggan, on the bench. Quarterback Brandon Silvers needed to attempt just eight passes in the win, while the Battlehawk defense held the Defenders to just two points in the first three quarters of their final home game.
With the XFL and UFL championship games taking place in St. Louis, the Battlehawks would benefit from home field advantage for the entirety of the playoffs. All they have to do is win.

NFC West quarterbacks fall into 2 tiers entering 2025

Find out where CBS Sports puts Matthew Stafford, Brock Purdy, Kyler Murray and Sam Darnold in their 2025 QB tiers. The NFL is done with all offseason work and it is the time of year where we get lists and rankings of all sorts. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin ranked and tiered all 32 projected starting quarterbacks for 2025. The tiers? Arizona Cardinals fans will have interest in seeing where the quarterbacks in the NFC West fall? While we did focus on Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray already, let's see about all four starters in the division. NFC West quarterback tiers The four starters in the division fall into two categories: Borderline stars Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams and Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers fall here, and they are fairly tiered. Stafford has been elite talent for much of his career, but now he is a little less consistent and needs his playmakers to do more, while Purdy, after MVP-type production, saw his play level out after he missed top offensive players. Volatile veterans Murray probably should be up in the borderline star tier, but he hasn't looked like that since 2021. He isn't necessarily volatile because, at his worst, he plays at a league-average level. Seattle's Sam Darnold is the face of volatile veteran. While his 2024 season showed the level of play he could reach when he was drafted third overall in 2018, he has been wildly inconsistent in his career, prone to turnovers. he won't have the weapons he had in Minnesota, so he will have to prove himself again with the Seahawks. Lamar Jackson's Appearance at Camp Shows Commitment to Ravens

Lamar Jackson's Appearance at Camp Shows Commitment to Ravens originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL in Lamar Jackson, and he feels that he deserves to be paid as such. Advertisement Jackson is not a free agent until after the 2027 season, but he is only the tenth-highest paid quarterback in the NFL in terms of annual salary. As a result, the team expected him not to make an appearance at camp. But that was not in fact the case. According to multiple reports, the 28-year-old field general was at mandatory minicamp, which would have been a prime time for him to hold out and demand a larger contract. But he showed up to many people's surprise, and this shows just how committed he is to leading this team to a win in the Super Bowl. The Ravens selected the former Louisville quarterback with the last pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he has already become one of the best players in their history since then. Advertisement He has already won two Most Valuable Player awards and been named First Team All-Pro three times in his seven seasons in the league. Even though he has been with the team for seven years, he only became the team's full-time starter in his second season. Jackson is committed to bringing the Ravens their third Super Bowl win in franchise history. As a result, the team is likely to give him the pay day that he deserves very soon. Plucky Pacers keep raising bar for Knicks' coaching search with what-ifs stinging even more

We knew the Knicks were fairly close under Tom Thibodeau. But this close? Nope. With each day the NBA Finals were extended by those plucky Pacers, the bar shifted upward for the Knicks front office and their next coach. Advertisement Because in retrospect, the Pacers, who eliminated the Knicks in the conference finals, are better than we imagined. They've pushed the Thunder to the brink after most inside the NBA atmosphere — from pundits to talent evaluators to players — believed Indiana to be vastly inferior. The Thunder, after all, steamrolled the NBA to this point (except for the Nuggets), winning 68 games in the regular season before going 12-4 in the Western Conference playoff bracket. They have the MVP, the league's best defense, the advantage of youth and depth. They were supposed to pummel the Pacers with these tools, but Game 7 is now booked for Sunday because Indy curb stomped OKC in Thursday night's Game 6, 108-91. It'll be the first Game 7 of the NBA Finals since a 73-win team from Golden State was stunned at home by Kyrie Irving and LeBron James in 2016.
