Who is Katseye's Megan Skiendiel, who came out as bisexual? The K-pop group, featured on Netflix's Pop Star Academy: Katseye, now has 2 LGBT members and is about to drop second EP Beautiful Chaos
Pride Month just got even brighter. Katseye's Megan Meiyok Skiendiel publicly confirmed that she is bisexual during a live Weverse broadcast last Friday, making it the second public coming-out within the group following fellow member Lara Raj, who revealed that she's queer earlier in March.
'Guys, I'm coming out, I'm bisexual,' Megan announced during the joint livestream with Raj. They immediately celebrated the moment, jumping up and down with joy in front of fans. 'I'm like scared now,' she added and laughed again.

Megan first hinted at her bisexuality a month ago during a live chat. 'Why is everyone asking if I'm –' then she subtly mouthed the word 'bi' and nodded her head, later adding, 'Yes, I am.'
Katseye is now one of the only K-pop groups with openly queer members. In Korea, coming out as LGBTQ is still a bold and risky decision, as it can be met with strong disapproval from fans, which can jeopardise one's career. Only a handful of idols have ever made such a move; Holland, widely known as 'the first openly gay K-pop idol', came out during his debut as recently as 2018.
Here is everything you need to know about Megan – and Katseye.

Katseye is a multinational group under the Korean entertainment powerhouse
Hybe and American label Geffen Records, formed in 2023 during the talent show The Debut: Dream Academy. Based in the US, the group has five other members: Lara (Indian-American), Daniela (Venezuelan/Cuban), Manon (Ghanaian and Swiss-Italian), Sophia (Filipina) and Yoonchae (Korean).
Katseye refers to the cat's eye gemstone, which displays a range of colours depending on the direction of the light. The team leader,
Sophia , said in an interview with InStyle that the group name represents the talents and different backgrounds of each member. 'We are all very different girls with our own charms, personalities, [backgrounds] and what we represent,' she said.
Since the release of their debut single 'Debut' last June, Katseye has become one of the world's most popular girl groups, with over 3 million followers on Instagram at the time of writing.
The hit single 'Touch' from their debut EP Soft Is Strong has been played around 300 million times on Spotify so far. The Netflix reality series Pop Star Academy: Katseye, released last August, also boosted their exposure. The group will return later this month with their second EP, Beautiful Chaos.

South Korean ‘alternative K-pop' collective Balming Tiger on Hong Kong and having fun
For 'alternative K-pop' collective Balming Tiger, 'having fun' is what matters most. That is why the group is returning to Hong Kong – its members fondly recall how the enthusiastic crowd pelted them with 'shoes and slippers' during their first performance in the city at the 2023 Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival. 'The energy that Hong Kong people brought to the festival was something else. They were hyped and going crazy,' says frontman and rapper Omega Sapien. 'Usually, we get that when we're in the US or Europe, not in Asia [where] it's calmer. I really loved the energy there. It was quite unforgettable.' Balming Tiger brought out a wild side of Hong Kong two years ago but has been loved worldwide since June 2018, when the group debuted the single 'I'm Sick'. Its energetic music video was nominated for best of the year at the 2019 Korean Hip-hop Awards and has garnered more than 4.7 million views on YouTube. The Seoul-based collective is known for a creativity that crosses musical genres. Their quirky visuals and choreography defy the immaculately polished image of the South Korean entertainment industry. Balming Tiger have collaborated with K-pop giants such as singer-songwriter IU and BTS' leader RM, as well as British rapper Little Simz.

He claims his father, William Saputra, is the seventh richest man in Asia and owns highly profitable companies like bottled water giant Danone Aqua.
