Samsung is working on two new pairs of more affordable TWS earbuds
Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds FE in 2023 as its most affordable pair of TWS earbuds, and we've recently heard that they would be succeeded by the Galaxy Buds Core that are currently in development.
Today the existence of the Galaxy Buds Core has been confirmed through a deep dive into the code of the latest Galaxy Buds Controller app for Wear OS. But, intriguingly, they're not the only affordable earbuds Samsung has in the pipeline.
The Galaxy Buds3 FE are also coming, and so the Korean company's roster of earbuds will soon double in size. The Buds3 and Buds3 Pro will definitely still sit at the top of this food chain, with the Galaxy Buds Core being the cheapest, according to today's source.
So the Galaxy Buds3 FE should then slot in between the Galaxy Buds Core and the Galaxy Buds3. There's certainly a lot of appetite across the world for good cheap TWS earbuds, and Samsung seems to have finally noticed.
While we can't tell for sure when the new earbuds will be announced, Samsung's next Unpacked event is taking place in July, where it's unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 along with the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic. So perhaps that would be the best place for these new buds to make their debut as well.

MediaTek announces the Dimensity 8450 with minor improvements
MediaTek announced the new Dimensity 8450, a direct successor to the Dimensity 8400 released back in December 2024. As the name implies, the upgrades are minimal, and the company introduced mostly under-the-hood changes. Interestingly, there's already a phone running the silicon - the Oppo Reno14 Pro. The Dimensity 8450 is still based on TSMC's second-generation 4nm node with an octa-core CPU with 1x Cortex-X4 core ticking at 3.25 GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 cores running at 3.0 GHz and 4x Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz. The GPU is Mali-G720 MC7 with 7 cores and it's clocked at 1300 MHz. If it sounds familiar, that's because the Dimensity 8400 runs on the same exact hardware. However, the newer chipset boasts gaming and ISP optimizations. The GPU, for instance, now uses the StarSpeed Engine, improving real-world gaming, while the improved ISP has live-stream optimizations. The ISP is capable of handling 320MP sensors with zero-lag HDR imaging. The NPU 880 receives some love too with Agentic AI Engine that allows support for on-device GenAI and LLM workloads. Lastly, the Dimensity 8450's 5G modem gets a new power-saving feature, UltraSave 3.0+, to reduce energy consumption. There is a very good reason why you should hold off buying the iPhone 17 Air for a couple of years
It sounds unbelievable, but the unveiling of the new iPhone 17 series is only about two and a half months away. The spotlight will be on the rumored new ultra-thin iPhone model that has been dubbed the iPhone 17 Air. This model reportedly will be powered by the A19 application processor (AP), not the A19 Pro AP. The iPhone 17 Air will also challenge the 11-inch M4-powered iPad Pro which is 5.3mm thin. Being so thin, we expect the iPhone 17 Air to be a little shortchanged in the battery department since the device has limited internal space for a larger battery to fit. So those looking to purchase the iPhone 17 Air this year do have to consider the possibility that their iPhone 17 Air units will be handicapped as far as battery life is concerned. In fact, a new report out of Korea suggests that those thinking about purchasing the iPhone 17 Air this year should try to hold off until 2027's iPhone 19 Air. The report says that Apple is looking to add a new low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) organic light-emitting diode (OLED) to the iPhone 19 series expected to be released in 2027. What this could do is reduce the battery munching ways of the display. Apple hasn't decided yet whether to use this new technology. This decision will be made during this year's third quarter and most analysts expect Apple to use the technology on the iPhone 19 Air.
