The stage is all set for the dazzling finale of the 69th edition of Eurovision Song Contest. Nearly 26 acts will be battling it out in an extravagant display of music, costumes, and national pride. After Switzerland's Nemo bagged the prize in 2024, the show is now being held in Basel and has drawn thousands of fans from across the globe.The Eurovision Village became a cultural hub with fans bringing their flags and dancing to the classics at the EuroClub ahead of the much-anticipated finale on Saturday.
Among the top contenders at the Eurovision 2025 is Sweden's Kaj, a trio of Swedish-speaking Finns. Their playful tribute to Nordic sauna culture, titled Bara Bada Bastu is one of the most-streamed songs on Spotify. They have the highest chances of winning the contest.
According to a Metro report, France and Austria, with submissions by Louane (Maman) and JJ (Wasted Love), respectively, can secure the second and third spots. Miriana Conte of Malta, meanwhile, is soaring in popularity following her intense semi-final performance, even if the lyrics to her song Serving were changed due to controversy.

Eurovision 2025 Finale lineup includes acts from returning favourites like Ukraine, Italy, and France. It also features newcomers like Luxembourg, which returned to the contest in 2024 after a long hiatus.Twenty other finalists will be joined by automatic entries from the Big Five—France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK—as well as the host nation, Switzerland. Even though the audience enjoyed their performances, countries including Slovenia, Australia, Ireland, and Czech Republic were left out.

Reportedly, as per the latest Eurovision 2025 odds, Sweden emerged as the frontrunner with a strong 42 per cent chance of winning, followed by Austria, which stood at 21 per cent, and France at nine per cent.The Netherlands and Finland are trailing at five and four per cent, respectively. Meanwhile, Israel, Estonia, and Switzerland each share a three per cent likelihood of victory.Albania followed with two per cent, while Malta, the UK, Italy, Germany, and Spain are all tied with just a one per cent chance each.As ever, Eurovision has not been controversy-free. Israel's involvement has attracted protests amid continuing tension in Gaza.
This year's representative, Yuval Raphael, is a survivor of the Nova festival terror attack, but had to steer clear of political lyrics for his song under pressure from organisers. Malta has also been under the spotlight because of the song Serving, which originally contained a Maltese term that sounded similar to an English profanity. Italy's Codacons brought a complaint against Estonian musician Tommy Cash's lyrics, charging they reinforce disparaging Italian stereotypes.

Meanwhile, the fans are still speculating that Céline Dion, the winner of Eurovision 1988 for Switzerland, might make a cameo appearance. The singer, who has just performed at the Paris Olympics while fighting a constant battle with stiff-person syndrome, has expressed her interest through a video message this week. Organisers claim, though, that there are no plans set, stressing her health as the priority.Eurovision 2025 Grand Final will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 3 pm ET and will be broadcasted on Peacock channel in the United States. Moreover, audiences all over the world can vote through the official Eurovision app or website, but no country can vote for its own entry. Kuberaa box office collection day 2: Dhanush-starrer earns Rs 30.75 crore in India, with Telugu version leading. Dhanush's latest film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-starring Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, is off to a solid start at the box office. The multilingual film has earned an estimated Rs 30.75 crore net in India within just two days of release, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. On Saturday, the film brought in around Rs 16 crore, slightly up from its opening day collection of Rs 14.75 crore. Despite strong reviews and audience word-of-mouth, the growth in collections has been modest. However, Kuberaa is holding strong, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions. The Telugu version of the film recorded a solid 66.19% occupancy rate, outperforming the Tamil version by a noticeable margin. The film's earnings are comparable to other recent releases. It is neck and neck with Dhanush's Raayan, which made Rs 27.04 crore in two days, and has edged past Suriya's Retro, which earned Rs 27 crore in the same time frame. With a steady pace at the box office and positive word-of-mouth, Kuberaa looks set for a strong weekend run. The film's success hasn't just been limited to the box office. Kuberaa has also sparked significant buzz around its digital release. According to a report by OTT Play, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for a staggering Rs 50 crore.
