Looking for a new bourbon? Here are 6 new Kentucky bourbon, whiskies to try this month
Kentucky's distilleries are constantly launching new products and April is no different.
Buzzard's Roost Whiskey has released its latest batch of Toasted French Oak Bourbon, Old Forester launched its new expression in the 117 Series, PGA Tour pro Max Homa teams up with Elijah Craig to create a one-of-a-kind bourbon and more.
Here are six new bourbon products to try this month:
Buzzard's Roost Whiskey has released its newest batch of Toasted French Bourbon, Batch 2. Batch 2 of Toasted French Oak Bourbon takes a slightly different approach than Batch 1, using French oak staves that were precision-toasted to coax out the most appealing flavor.
'We think Batch 2 is even more delicious than our first batch,' Buzzard's Roost co-founder and CEO Judy Hollis Jones said in a news release. 'Batch 1 was a favorite of many of Buzzard's Roost customers, but with a brand mantra of 'Innovation Within the Bounds of Tradition, we always look for new ways to create outstanding flavors."
Three important differentiators between French oak staves and whole barrels were considered before creating this new release:
While French oak barrels can only be toasted for very short periods of time, French oak staves can be toasted for as much as 18 hours, allowing the heat to tame extra tannins that are present in French oak.
French oak has a greater concentration of hemicellulose than other types of oak, resulting in more sugar molecules for caramelization.
The ability to toast French oak for a longer time leads to greater concentrations of flavor producers.

Batch 2 of Toasted French Oak Bourbon has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. The secondary maturation with French oak staves resulted in flavors of vanilla cupcake with light caramel frosting, dried apples, powdered cinnamon and a touch of sweet oak.
It is 100 proof with a suggested retail price of $85. For more information visit, buzzardsroostwhiskey.com.
PGA Tour pro Max Homa has teamed up with Elijah Craig to create a one-of-a-kind bourbon expression.
Homa has said Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel is his 'hands-down favorite.' So when the opportunity arose to collaborate on a private barrel pick, he jumped at the chance.
The process begins with Elijah Craig's Small Batch Bourbon, which is then elevated by a second, custom toasted barrel. This step gives the bourbon an additional layer of sweet oak complexity, creating a rich, full-bodied profile.
For Max's signature sip, the team followed the same finishing process, but with a unique twist, working with single barrels that were uncut and bottled at barrel proof. After sampling four carefully curated options alongside Elijah Craig Master Distiller Conor O'Driscoll, Homa selected a standout 8-year-old bourbon, which begins with the aroma of toasted oak and sweet caramel. The finish is warm, with lingering hints of chocolate and baking spices.
"Since the beginning of my partnership with Elijah Craig, fans have been asking for a barrel pick," said Homa, a six-time PGA Tour winner. "All of the barrels I sampled were delicious which made the decision very difficult, but in the end my Toasted Barrel pick ultimately stood out with its rich creamy notes of butterscotch and vanilla alongside the classic oak smokiness and spice Elijah Craig is known for.'
This Bourbon is 126.6 proof and will be released in limited quantities, with less than 200 bottles available.
Sign up to be the first to know when the release will be available by visiting the Elijah Craig website and providing contact information to receive an exclusive email with limited opportunity to purchase the product. Joining the list is not a guarantee of purchase and product will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
Kentucky Senator Bourbon released its sixth small batch of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, The John Edwards.
Named after John Edwards, Kentucky's second-ever U.S. Senator and a resident of Bourbon County, this exclusive release continues the brand's legacy of honoring distinguished statesmen while delivering an exceptional bourbon experience.
The small batch bourbon is aged for seven and a half years and bottled at the signature 107 proof with a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley, offering a rich and balanced flavor profile that bourbon enthusiasts have come to expect from the brand.

Maker's Mark has announced the next release in its Wood Finishing Series, The Keepers Release 2025, inspired by the warehouse team who ensure every barrel of Maker's Mark matures consistently to the founders' taste vision.
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series is a collection of one-of-a-kind expressions that use an innovative wood stave-finishing technique to enhance distinctive characteristics already present in the brand's iconic bourbon. Bite club: Half sweet, half spicy: Olla Olla Crepes brings bold flavors to Capitol
If you're looking for something sweet, savory or a little of both, a crepe restaurant near the Capitol is just the ticket. State of play: Olla Olla Crepes, which opened its brick-and-mortar restaurant at 17th Avenue and Van Buren Street last May, serves "French sweet & savory crepes with a Mexican twist," per the restaurant's website. Flashback: The eatery's origins date to 2017, when founder Lyndelle Sanjuanero Puente and a friend started selling crepes to fundraise for their sorority. Puente decided to turn the venture into a full-fledged business in 2019, but she put things on hold when the pandemic hit. After struggling with personal hardships, she launched her business in 2022, selling crepes at the corner in front of her sister's house at 53rd Avenue and Camelback Road. The creperie shared spaces with other businesses until she officially put down roots last year. Zoom in: Olla Olla Crepes has a variety of unique offerings, including dessert, breakfast and even pizza crepes. There's also a selection of decadent drinks, like red velvet coffee and strawberry horchata with whipped cream. Best bites: I couldn't decide whether to go sweet or savory. Fortunately, this restaurant appeals to my indecision because they let you go halfsies. On one side I went with a classic, which has strawberries, bananas, lechera and Nutella. On the other, I got a green enchilada crepe. The classic was familiar and delicious, a conventional but delectably sweet treat. More unusual, but still great, was the savory side, which had the spicy zing you'd expect from a good enchilada.

Netflix analysts turn heads with stock price target updates
Bonjour tout le monde, comment aimez-vous Netflix maintenant? Okay, enough with the high school French. We're going bilingual because the world's largest streaming service recently unveiled a deal under which it will offer live broadcasts and on-demand content from the French broadcaster TF1 starting in summer 2026. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter "This is a first-of-its-kind partnership that plays to our strengths of giving audiences the best entertainment alongside the best discovery experience," Greg Peters, Netflix's co-CEO, said in a statement. "By teaming up with France's leading broadcaster we will provide French consumers with even more reasons to come to Netflix every day and to stay with us for all their entertainment." Chris Ratcliffe/Bloomberg via Getty Images TF1 reaches 58 million monthly viewers through its broadcast channels and serves 35 million users on its TF1+ streaming service. The company's CEO, Rodolphe Belmer, who sat on Netflix's board from 2018 until 2022 before taking the helm at TF1, said the alliance would "enable our premium content to reach unparalleled audiences and unlock new reach for advertisers within an ecosystem that perfectly complements our TF1+ platform." Last year, Netflix partnered with France's Newen Studios and TF1 to co-produce the streamer's first-ever daily drama series for France, "Tout Pour La Lumière" ("All for Light"), which is set in the world of music and dance, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "This is a very innovative deal" with "nothing of the sort elsewhere," Enders Analysis analyst François Godard said. "It pivots Netflix into aggregation." More Streaming: Walt Disney offers new perks for Disney+ membersBank of America sends strong message on NetflixNetflix has a genius plan to find its next hit show Scott Galloway, a New York University professor and a podcaster, noted recently that by expanding production globally, taking advantage of broadband technology, and capitalizing on inexpensive funding, Netflix was able to make large-scale investments similar to Amazon's (AMZN) strategy, leaving competitors unable to keep pace. Craig Hallum analyst Jason Kreyer said that Magnite (MGNI) , the world's largest independent sell-side advertising company, struck an agreement with TF1 just nine months ago to bolster programmatic demand, according to The Fly. Programmatic advertising uses software and algorithms to buy ad inventory in real time, often through auctions, rather than through manual negotiations between advertisers and publishers. Craig Hallum said that this relationship represented a ramp in its monetization potential with Netflix by bringing an influx of live content to the Netflix ecosystem, where Magnite remains the exclusive supply-side platform. The firm said that it expected a seamless transition to monetizing this inventory on Netflix. Craig-Hallum said its checks from Cannes in France have noted a material increase in interest and active discussions between these broadcasters and both publishers like Netflix and tech partners like Magnite. The firm sees this trend adding yet another set of tailwinds to the Magnite story. Craig-Hallum has a buy rating and a $14 price target on Magnite's shares. Netflix shares are up 38% this year and up nearly 82% from this time in 2024. Pivotal Research raised its price target on Netflix to a Wall-Street-high $1,600 from $1,350 and affirmed a buy rating on the shares. Related: Veteran trader turns heads with Netflix comments The investment firm said it moved from a year-end 2025 to a year-end 2026 target price and increased its multiple based on earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, citing increasing confidence in the company's "dominant market positioning." Netflix remains underpenetrated globally, Pivotal said. The Los Gatos, Calif., company offers an "extremely compelling" price-to-entertainment value, boosted by its advertising-supported offering, which should enable it to continue to generate solid growth in subscribers and average revenue per user, Pivotal said. The firm continues to view management's aspirational goal of a $1 trillion valuation by 2030 as reasonable. It's currently a bit more than half that at $520 billion. Wells Fargo raised its price target on Netflix to $1,500 from $1,222 given its opportunity path, while affirming an overweight rating on the shares. High-value short-form content could be Netflix's next big move with exclusive creator deals, WFC said. Wells Fargo estimates incremental engagement at an attractive return on investment. It's a third pillar of growth after sports and ads, the firm said. Netflix, scheduled to report quarterly results on July 17, said in May that it was testing a short-form-video feature. In 2021 the platform rolled out a TikTok-inspired feature called "Fast Laughs," which focused on funny clips, Tech Crunch reported. This new test aims to reach a broader audience beyond just comedy fans and will be more personalized. The new mobile-only vertical feed enables users to easily scroll through clips of its original titles. Within this feed, users can tap on buttons to watch the entire show or movie immediately, save it to their "My List," or share it with friends.
