Bills WR Keon Coleman on rookie year: 'You got to be better, simple as that'
The Buffalo Bills and receiver Keon Coleman want to see more from the young pass catcher in his second season as a pro.
"You want to know exactly what I see?" Coleman said of his thoughts while looking back at the film from his first year with the team. "You got to be better, simple as that."
In 2024, the team's offense ranked No. 2 in scoring, was top-10 in rushing and passing yards, and yielded an MVP season for quarterback Josh Allen.
Coleman finished second among Bills receivers in passing yards in an efficiency-based distribution offense called by coordinator Joe Brady, yet he realizes he left a lot on the plate in his rookie campaign.
The 33rd overall selection in last year's NFL draft, he showed flashes of his abilities, but also missed four weeks due to injury during the second half of the season and didn't quite bounce back fully to have the potential impact he could have.
He realizes he needs to make the most of his opportunities in this offense when he gets them.
"You gotta be more efficient here. You gotta get out of this break. You got to stack your DB. You got to give Josh more room to throw the ball. You gotta catch that. You gotta make that block. You got to get that extra effort on the touchdown block, so if Jimbo (James Cook) breaks it, he's up the sideline. Just different things like that. Calling out everything that you're doing wrong to make it right."
He's shown improved strength and conditioning going into year two, and looked good on routes and in his connection with Allen during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills at mandatory minicamp, but also had some occasional drops and decision-making mistakes.
Nonetheless, Coleman appears committed to the growth and progression, which is important for the 22-year-old as well as for his quarterback.
'We've had a couple of conversations and he knows that he wants to be better,' MVP Josh Allen said in April, via WGR 550. 'He sent me a couple of long texts of wanting to be better, and we're going to continue to work extremely hard to try to get on the same page. He's got so much ability, he's so athletic, he's already put on some weight and he's gotten a little bit stronger, so I'm excited to see his progression and he's still so young, so he's still got a long ways to go in terms of learning the nuances of the wide receiver position, so I'm so excited for his future because of the ability that he has, it's off the charts.'

Latest Trade Proposal from Media Sends Micah Parsons To NFC Rival
Latest Trade Proposal from Media Sends Micah Parsons To NFC Rival originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Micah Parsons has been the lifeblood for the Dallas Cowboys defense since arriving at The Star four years ago. Few players league-wide on either side of the ball have the same tangible impact as Parsons on the field. Advertisement The time has come for the defensive star to get his first of likely multiple major pay days in his career. This did not sneak up on the Cowboys, but they are clearly in no rush to get this deal done. That's the norm for the Cowboys as frustrating as it may be. The same plot played out last season with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb with Prescott's extension not coming until hours before kickoff. Parsons' loyalty to the Cowboys is unquestioned. Amid these contract disputes with the team he has remained around the team and participated minimally at mandatory minicamp this week. But until the ink dries on that piece of paper – gearing a salary we bet is now going to be in excess of $40 million per year – fans will continue to speculate about what his future looks like. That's why the latest proposal from Anne Erickson at Heavy has him headed to an NFC rival in the Detroit Lions. Advertisement The Cowboys would return a second- and fourth-round draft pick in this theoretical deal. A pairing of Micah Parsons and budding star Aidan Hutchinson would test the limits of the best offensive lines in the league. But that's more likely to happen at the Pro Bowl Games or on a Madden video game. We can argue that there is not a price that can be put on a player who provides production, leadership and wants to stay put. No amount of wish casting will change that reality. But as insider Mike Fisher notes: 'A 2 and a 4? This is peak silliness.' Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has work to do on his end, specifically in amending the relationship with Parsons' agent. But the player and the owner maintain a strong relationship, so those personal conversations are ongoing. Advertisement This waiting game will likely cost the Cowboys once again, but there's hardly any reason to believe No. 11 will not be suiting up for Dallas through the coming years. Dodgers' Dave Roberts reveals next pitching plans for Shohei Ohtani
The post Dodgers' Dave Roberts reveals next pitching plans for Shohei Ohtani appeared first on ClutchPoints. Two years ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed Shohei Ohtani to a record-breaking 10-year, $700 million contract. Then, $680 million was deferred for a decade, with Ohtani earning $68 million yearly for the next decade. The contract was record-breaking and unique because he is a 'unicorn' with what he can do on a baseball field. He is the best hitter in the MLB and has also shown the ability to be among the best pitchers. Advertisement The Dodgers were able to absorb Ohtani's absence from pitching last season due to elbow surgery, and he still won his third MVP award. He finally returned to the mound in a recent game against the San Diego Padres, where he started, but only pitched one inning. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was easing Ohtani back into pitching and decided to play it safe, and only had him go out to pitch once. The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya, who covers the Dodgers, said that Roberts told the media that he expects Ohtani to pitch against the Nationals on Saturday or Sunday, depending on how he looks in a bullpen session upcoming. Ohtani dominated behind the plate last season with the first-ever 50-50 season with 54 home runs and then 59 stolen bases, culminating in his third MVP award. He did all of this without stepping on the mound once. The Dodgers' talent on the mound allowed them to be extra cautious with his recovery, and neither Ohtani nor Los Angeles needed him to rush back out on the mound. However, now that he's back to pitching, adding that extra level to his game will make him even more dangerous. At 44-29, Los Angeles is third in the NL behind only the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs. The difference between the Mets and the Dodgers is 1.5 games. Adding Ohtani to the mound does two things: it makes the Dodgers more dangerous while also helping a pitching staff that has dealt with its fair share of injuries in the first half of the season. Advertisement The Dodgers now have this extra dimension with the best player in baseball in their back pocket, which should scare everyone in the MLB. Ohtani is best behind the plate, but he's still great as a pitcher, so gently moving him back to pitching is the best thing the Dodgers can do moving forward. Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Begs for Jalen Ramsey to Return
Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Begs for Jalen Ramsey to Return originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The latest drama in the Dolphins' Jalen Ramsey situation came from receiver Tyreek Hill earlier today. At Fanatics Fest, Hill said he's going to get Ramsey back in a Dolphins' jersey. "I'm going to hangout with Ramsey today, so I'm going to get him back. Full-court press, I'm getting him, Ramsey, back in a Dolphins jersey," Hill said. "I don't care what they say - tampering, whatever - we need Ramsey. He's a dog. He's one of the best corners in the league, man. Great leader, great teammate too, though. That's what he doesn't get a lot of credit for. We just need him on the Dolphins man." Advertisement Ramsey and Dolphins mutually agreed to find a trade partner early in the offseason. However, Ramsey remains a Dolphin with less than a month until training camp begins. This week, multiple reports and hints came out of where Ramsey landing spot could be. Ramsey followed multiple Steelers' players on Instagram, potentially indicating him ending up in Pittsburgh. Adam Schefter reported yesterday that Ramsey has interest in playing for a West Coast team, either the Chargers, 49ers or the Rams. The Rams have been heavy in the Ramsey conversation since the beginning, with the cornerback playing four years with the Rams and winning a Super Bowl. Many believed a reunion would be the perfect landing spot for Ramsey. Advertisement However, Sean McVay said it would take a lot of work to figure out a way to bring Ramsey back to the Rams. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty as to where Ramsey will be playing in 2025. According to Schefter, it'll be on the West Coast. But, Hill is going to do his best to keep Ramsey in Miami for now. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 21, 2025, where it first appeared.
