Mexico City's AXE Ceremonia Festival Cancels Sunday Lineup After Two Killed in Crane Collapse
Mexico City's AXE Ceremonia music festival canceled its Sunday lineup — which included scheduled performances by Tyler, the Creator, the Marias, and Massive Attack — after a crane collapse at the fest Saturday killed two people.
'With deep sadness, we confirm the passing of the two people who were injured during today's incident,' AXE Ceremonia said in a statement Saturday. 'We are deeply heartbroken by this loss. We are reaching out to their families to support them during this incredibly difficult time and to provide them with all our care and solidarity. The safety of our community has always been our priority, and we continue, as from the very beginning, to maintain close collaboration and complete transparency with the authorities.'

According to authorities, a wind gust toppled a crane that was holding a decorative metallic object, Billboard reports. The crane fell on 'two people who received pre-hospital care at the scene, and were later urgently transported to the hospital, where they unfortunately passed away' The two people were later identified as photgraphers Miguel Angel Rojas and Berenice Giles.
While the festival continued on Saturday following the accident — including headlining sets by Charli XCX and K-pop band Tomorrow X Together — AXE Ceremonia organizers and the local mayor's office announced the cancelation of Sunday's festivities.
'The teams from the Miguel Hidalgo Government and Legal Affairs, along with the borough's Civil Protection department and the Administrative Verification Institute of Mexico City, completed the inspection and placed suspension seals at the entrances to AXE Ceremonia in Bicentennial Park,' the mayor's office said. 'Therefore, the event this Sunday, April 6, is suspended.'
AXE Ceremonia organizers added in a statement, 'Following the unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday, we inform you that the activities scheduled for today have been suspended, following the guidelines of the relevant authorities. Our sympathy and support go out to their families and love ones during this difficult time.'
Organizers added that refunds would automatically be issued to festival goers.

Lou Christie, ‘Lightnin' Strikes' Pop Crooner, Is Dead at 82
Lou Christie, who with his heartthrob persona and piercing falsetto rode high on the mid-1960s pop charts with hits like 'Lightnin' Strikes' and 'Two Faces Have I,' while transcending teen-idol status by helping to write his own material, died on Wednesday at his home in Pittsburgh. He was 82. His family announced the death on social media, saying only that he died 'after a brief illness.' With his perky doo-wop-inflected melodies and his gymnastic vocal range, Mr. Christie was at times compared to Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons. Like Mr. Valli, Mr. Christie hit his stride as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the other guitar groups of the British Invasion were starting to shatter the handsome-teen-crooner archetype personified by the likes of Fabian and Frankie Avalon. 'They started disappearing,' Mr. Christie once said of such singers in an interview with the site Classic Bands. 'It was so interesting that I kept going. I hit the end of that whole era. 'I've always been between the cracks of rock 'n' roll, I felt. The missing link.' Even in changing times, he held his own, thanks in part to the songs he wrote with his songwriting partner, Twyla Herbert, who was two decades his senior. The songs they created together had more emotional complexity than the standard odes to puppy love. While his debut album, released in 1963, failed to make a splash, two of the singles featured on that album climbed the charts. 'The Gypsy Cried' reached No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963. 'Two Faces Have I,' a showcase for Mr. Christie's signature falsetto, climbed to No. 6 a few months later. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Morgan Wallen ‘I'm the Problem' Tour Setlist Unveiled Early
Morgan Wallen fans are getting an early look at his setlist ahead of the opening night of his upcoming I'm the Problem Tour on June 20 at NRG Stadium in Houston, thanks to Apple Music Country. More from Billboard Hatebreed Guitarist Exits Tour Following Diagnosis of Brain Tumor Oasis to Launch Pop-Up Merch Stores Alongside Reunion Tour Dates in U.K. & Ireland Suge Knight Says Diddy's Peers Have Been Silent About Sex Trafficking Trial Because 'They Are So Scared' The 27-song playlist features not only many of Wallen's earlier hits, such as 'Whiskey Glasses,' 'More Than My Hometown,' 'One Thing at a Time,' and 'Ain't That Some,' but also many songs from the tour's namesake album, last month's I'm the Problem. Among the new songs on his tour setlist are 'I Got Better,' 'Love Somebody,' 'Kiss Her in Front of You,' 'I'm a Little Crazy,' 'What I Want,' 'Superman' and '20 Cigarettes.' To Apple Music Country, Wallen said, 'There's a bunch of songs on there that I'm excited to play,' noting that he's excited to sing 'I'm a Little Crazy' ('I love singing that song,' he says) and 'I'm The Problem' ('I already see how well it's doing,' he says). He also said it's 'the energy' that marks a major difference between hearing a song and seeing the artist perform it live in front of thousands of fans. 'I spend months at this point getting ready to get on tour, just getting in shape,' he says. 'I don't have to be in any kind of crazy shape to record in the studio. With how big my stage is, how much I run around, and how much effort that me and the guys put into it, I don't think you would know that by just listening to the record.' Wallen's I'm the Problem Tour comes just over a month after the release of his I'm the Problem album and the launch of his Sand in My Boots Festival. The trek will conclude with two shows on Sept. 12-13 in Edmonton, Alberta. Artists set to open various shows on the tour are Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Koe Wetzel, Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley and Anne Wilson. Who Will Morgan Wallen Walk Out With For His I'm the Problem Tour Debut? Here's His Six Best NFL Cameos
When Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem tour kicks off Friday (June 20) at Houston's NRG Stadium, all eyes will be looking to see if he continues his trend of walking out to the stage with local pro athletes. It's become a highlight of the shows and the walk outs — broadcast on the venue's jumbotrons — pump up the audience as much as they do Wallen. More from Billboard Kelsea Ballerini Calls Noah Kahan 'a Joy' to Perform With Steve Ray Ladson Wows Crowd (and Catches Mel B's Eye) With Original 'Blackgrass Brothercana' Anthem 'Back of My Truck' Caroline Jones Etches a Roadmap to Personal Freedom on 'No Tellin'': 'I Think There's a Big Cultural Shift Around This Conversation' NRG Stadium is home to the NFL's Houston Texans and the team doesn't report to training camp until Sunday, June 22, so our bet is on All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. making the walk with him. Wallen told Apple Music Country last week that he's been in training himself, getting ready for the 20-date football stadium outing which will hit 10 cities through Sept. 13. Among his opening acts are Koe Wetzel, Miranda Lambert, Brooks & Dunn, Ella Langley, Gavin Adcock and Thomas Rhett. 'I spend months at this point getting ready to get on tour, just getting in shape,' he said. 'I don't have to be in any kind of crazy shape to record in the studio. With how big my stage is, how much I run around, and how much effort that me and the guys put into it, I don't think you would know that by just listening to the record.' Wallen remains on top of the charts, as I'm The Problem stays at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for its fourth consecutive week since its May 16 release. Below are six Wallen walkouts from the 2023-2024 One Night at a Time tour with NFL greats. We'll also be looking to see if the walkout music has changed from 'Broadway Girls,' his 2022 collaboration with Lil Durk. For his three hometown shows at Nashville's Nissan Stadium last May, Wallen was cheered on May 2 by Tennessee Titan wide receiver DeAndre Watkins, who is now with the Kansas City Chiefs. They were accompanied by Wallen's pal and podcaster Theo Von. Dallas's AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas exploded on July 26, 2024 when former Cowboys QB Troy Aikman walked out with Wallen. Aikman may have been relatively reserved compared to some of Wallen's other walkout buddies, but it didn't matter to the legend's fans. On Aug. 2, 2024, Wallen walked out with three members of the Kansas City Chiefs, the then-reigning Super Bowl champs at Geha Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Wearing kicker Harrison Butker's No. 7 jersey, Wallen was flanked by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and defensive tackle Chris Jones. For his Sept. 22, 2024 show at Knoxville, Tennessee's Neyland Stadium, Wallen brought out the big guns. Manning is, of course, a pro football legend from his time with the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos, but it all started at University of Tennessee with Manning as QB in 1994. He donned his UT uniform to get the crowd extra hyped. They weren't alone; they were joined by current UT football coach Josh Heupel and then-UT wide receiver Bru McCoy and QB Nico Iamaleava (who has since transferred to UCLA). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield made the long walk with Wallen on Oct. 4, 2024 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., along with pro wrestler Hulk Hogan. Mayfield returned to sing 'Whiskey, Whiskey' with Wallen on stage. The GOAT, Tom Brady, helped get Wallen pumped as he joined him for the walkout Aug. 9, 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Of course, Brady played for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, who play at Allegiant. They were joined by boxing GOAT, Mike Tyson.
