Kesari 2 opened with a decent Rs 7.75 crore on its first Friday, but gained momentum over the opening weekend, collecting Rs 9.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 12 crore on Sunday. Despite the predictable weekday drop, it managed a respectable first-week total of Rs 46.1 crore. The film's gripping narrative, coupled with strong performances by Madhavan and Panday, fueled word-of-mouth, allowing it to hold reasonably well in its second week.
In Week 2, the film added Rs 28.65 crore, with solid weekend numbers — Rs 4.05 crore on Friday, Rs 7.15 crore on Saturday, and Rs 8.1 crore on Sunday. While weekday numbers dropped as expected, they stayed steady enough to keep the film's momentum alive.
As of its third Saturday, Kesari 2 has amassed Rs 77.90 crore at the India box office, with early estimates suggesting Rs 1.90 crore on its 16th day. Going by the business one can expect the film to cross the Rs 80 crore mark by Sunday night; a commendable feat for a niche courtroom drama competing against commercial entertainers.
Madhavan delivers a nuanced performance as the resilient Kesari, while Ananya Panday surprises in one of her most grounded roles as a young lawyer fighting alongside him but it is Akshay who holds the film together.
Director Karan Singh Tyagi, leveraging his legal background, crafts a taut, authentic narrative without resorting to excessive melodrama. The film's success proves once again that well-made, content-driven cinema has a loyal audience.

Sitaare Zameen Par box office Day 1: Aamir's film starts decent, earns Rs 11.5 crore
Aamir Khan's 'Sitaare Zameen Par', touted as the spiritual sequel to his 2007 classic 'Taare Zameen Par', released in theatres on June 20 to largely positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Despite the favourable buzz, the sports drama had a modest start at the box office, collecting an estimated Rs 11.5 crore on its opening day, according to industry tracker 'Sitaare Zameen Par' couldn't surpass the Day 1 collection of Aamir's previous film, 'Laal Singh Chaddha', which earned Rs 11.7 crore on release day in 2022, despite ultimately underperforming in the long run with a lifetime collection of just Rs 60 crore. Comparatively, 'Taare Zameen Par' had opened to Rs 2 crore on Day 1 back in per Sacnilk, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' registered a 21.43 per cent occupancy in the Hindi belt, with night shows drawing the highest footfall. While the opening numbers may not be record-breaking, the film's strong word-of-mouth, compelling performances, and emotional storytelling could boost its performance over the weekend. Watch the trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par here: India Today rated the film 3.5 stars, praising its heartfelt simplicity and humour. An excerpt from the review reads: 'The beauty of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' lies in the fact that it isn't trying to be anything it's not. There are no hidden metaphors or layered messages to decode. It is what it is - not a flawless portrayal of emotion, but a story with its heart in the right place. And oh, when it makes you laugh, it really makes you laugh. It puts to shame all those so-called comedies built on crass humour and sexist jokes.'Alongside Aamir Khan, the film stars Genelia Deshmukh and marks the debut of ten fresh faces in Hindi cinema. With the weekend ahead, all eyes are on whether 'Sitaare Zameen Par' can turn its promising start into a box office Watch

'Kuberaa' box-office report: Dhanush's 2nd Telugu film struggles at box-office despite stellar reviews
Brimming with expectations and supported by a star-studded cast including Dhanush , Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, Kuberaa was hailed as one of the most anticipated cinematic releases of the year. Audiences and critics alike offered a warm reception to the film, praising its storytelling and particularly applauding Dhanush's performance in an unconventional role as a destitute man. Yet, despite its critical appreciation, the movie's commercial performance did not reflect that enthusiasm at the box office . Opening Collections Fall Short of Expectations According to data reported by Sacnilk, a popular platform known for tracking movie earnings, Kuberaa generated close to Rs 13 crore in revenue over its first two days in theatres. Specifically, the film raked in ₹12.98 crore on its debut day. While not a disastrous opening, the numbers were slightly below par when compared to Dhanush's previous theatrical venture, Raayan, which had achieved a more robust ₹15.7 crore on day one. This comparison has sparked discussions among trade analysts, given that Kuberaa had the advantage of a strong cast and simultaneous Telugu-Tamil release. About the Film: A Crime Saga Rooted in South India Kuberaa is a 2025 Indian crime thriller helmed by acclaimed director Sekhar Kammula. The screenplay was crafted by Kammula in collaboration with Chaithanya Pingali. Jointly backed by production houses Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, the movie was simultaneously shot in both Telugu and Tamil, aiming to cater to a wider audience across South India. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like IELTS Cheat Sheet: Grab Your Free Tips! The supporting cast includes Nagarjuna in a pivotal role, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and veteran actor Dalip Tahil. Critical Acclaim but Lukewarm Box Office Momentum Although Kuberaa has been appreciated for its performances, layered narrative, and grounded realism, its initial earnings suggest that the movie might face an uphill climb to become a commercial success. With word-of-mouth and weekend numbers being critical in determining a film's trajectory, all eyes are now on how the crime drama performs in the coming days. Whether the film manages to pick up pace or fizzles out remains to be seen.

‘Kuberaa' box office collections day 1: Dhanush-Nagarjuna thriller opens strong with Rs 13 cr; Dominates Telugu market
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Dhanush and Nagarjuna's much-anticipated thriller drama 'Kuberaa' has opened to a strong start at the box office/ The movie has collected an impressive Rs 13 crore (India net) on its first day. Kuberaa Movie Review According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the multilingual film has performed especially well in the Telugu-speaking regions, giving it a solid launchpad for the weekend. Telugu version leads the charge 'Kuberaa' saw a remarkable occupancy rate in its Telugu version, registering an overall 57.36% occupancy across theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Hyderabad recorded an outstanding 67% overall occupancy, with night shows touching 88% across 530 shows. according to the reports. Kuberaa Review: Dhanush & Nagarjuna Deliver Fireworks | Rashmika's Surprise Act | Fans React Moderate response in Tamil and low in other languages The Tamil version of 'Kuberaa' recorded a fair overall occupancy of 33.73% on Friday. While morning and afternoon shows were relatively lower, night shows picked up with a 47.46% occupancy, particularly in Chennai. The night occupancy reached 89% in Chennai. However, the film's reach was limited in other languages. In the Kannada version, the film saw only a 6.54% overall occupancy, and the Hindi version saw a slightly better 6.73%, with night shows reaching just over 10%. The Malayalam version recorded minimal traction with an overall occupancy of only 2.32%. Positive signs ahead The film's pan-Indian release strategy appears to have paid off, at least in the Telugu and Tamil belts. Strong nighttime occupancies and buzz around the star power of Dhanush and Nagarjuna suggest 'Kuberaa' could see a significant jump over the weekend. If the momentum continues, Kuberaa might just become one of the surprise box office successes of mid-2025. ETimes gave the movie a rating of 3.5 stars and our review reads, "Where Kuberaa falters is in its pacing. The first half takes its time to build the world—perhaps a little too slowly."
