In a town like The Big Apple, one had better master the art of performing well under the bright lights. It's a byproduct of trying to a make name for one's self in this great country's largest media market. Win or lose, the New York Giants are always part of Gotham's discussion, but this next statement doubles as 'stating the obvious'. When they lose, there is always more to talk about.
That expensive offensive line just hasn't gotten the job done. Brian Daboll is supposed to be the offensive genius, and Big Blue's offensive attack hasn't gotten much done under his tenure.

And, what about those draft choices, particularly Kayvon Thibodeaux? When is he going to reach his potential? No one knows the answer, not even Thibodeaux himself, but that hasn't lessened his confidence, not one iota.

Kayvon Thibodeaux again sets his sights on Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt's NFL sack record
New York isn't a town for everyone. Take those bright lights that were mentioned earlier. They are enough to blind even the most talented stars. Their heat can wilt someone if they aren't quite ready for the attention.
Lawrence Taylor became a legend playing under the spotlight. Michael Strahan blossomed. Big Blue's fans hoped that Thibodeaux would embody some of the best traits from both of them.
But, it's year three. Time has flown, and the Super Bowl glory delivered by both Taylor and Strahan seems to be eluding Mr. Thibodeaux. In fact, the target seems further away than he was drafted fifth overall in 2022.

Kayvon is no stranger to being vocal about what his goals are. Well before taking his first NFL snap, he insisted he wanted to "average at least one sack a game or contribute five to ten tackles a game."
If the math is correct, that would have landed him around 85 tackles and 17 sacks. He finished his rookie campaign with 49 tackles and four sacks. His second season was his best to date. He notched 50 tackles and 11.5 sacks. Shortly thereafter, he decided to set the bar high for himself.
He announced he wanted to break the NFL's single-season sack record, one held by Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt and the aforementioned Michael Strahan. The following season, he suffered an injury.
He suffered a wrist injury, one requiring surgery that placed him on the shelf from his trip to the injured reserve on October 12, 2024 to his activation on November 23.

He finished his third season having notched 28 tackles and 5.5 sacks during 12 starts, but alas, another promise has come. Kayvon met with the New York media during the first day of minicamp and again set his sights on breaking Strahan and Watt's sack record.
"Every time I come out on the field, I want to have more sacks than I ever have, more tackles than I ever have. I'm still going for the record, I'm going for the record every year."

And, with that, the clock is restarted and has begun ticking again. Time has flown. It's year four of the Kayvon Thibodeaux experience in the big city.
No one has forgotten the goal. Trust and believe it will be mentioned again if unmet, but here's the obvious question. How is he going to be able to do this while sharing snaps with Brian Burns and rookie Abdul Carter?

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels upsets Eagles' fans again
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels had one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history last fall. You could argue that Daniels' rookie season rivals any in professional sports history. In addition to individual success, Daniels led the Commanders to 12 wins and an appearance in the NFC championship game. It was Washington's best season in 33 years. Washington's division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, also had an impressive rookie class last season. First-round cornerback Quinyon Mitchell and second-round corner Cooper DeJean led the Eagles' rookie class. Mitchell finished second in the voting for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. Advertisement On Saturday at Fanatics Fest in New York City, Daniels was asked about the toughest cornerback to face. He was asked about Mitchell, but said he was most looking forward to facing Denver's Patrick Surtain II in 2025. Surtain won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in only his fourth season. Of course, Eagles fans found some way to be disrespected by Daniels' saying he was most looking forward to facing Surtain. The Commanders will play the Eagles twice, and the Broncos are on Washington's slate this season. Why were Philadelphia fans mad? Just read the comments, if you choose. Since the Commanders came back late in the fourth quarter to upset the Eagles in Week 16 last season — a game in which Daniels threw five touchdown passes — Philly fans have had an unhealthy obsession with Daniels. Despite all the Eagles' success, some Philadelphia fans turn their attention to Daniels, even when he's not involved. Advertisement Why? Because they know Daniels is special. The Commanders having Daniels also means that Washington is no longer a pushover. The old NFC East rivalry is back. Kansas City Chiefs Week 14 opponent recalls last season's divisional matchup
The Kansas City Chiefs were a victory away from completing the first three-peat in NFL history. They fell short in Super Bowl LIX but got past talented teams in the AFC, including the Houston Texans. Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. attended Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud's appearance at Fanatics Fest NYC, speaking on a panel called 'Franchise Faces' with Peyton and Eli Manning, Caleb Williams, and Bryce Young, hosted by Kay Adams. He opened up about his sophomore season and falling short in Kansas City. "So for me, when things come up, or like last season, not having exactly the season I wanted, but you know, still going to the playoffs, still, won another playoff game. There's still positives in that, and there's still a lot of learning," said Stroud, "I'm only 23 years old, I believe I'm one of the youngest quarterbacks, and that's no excuse or pat on my back." Stroud passed for 244 yards and two touchdowns against Kansas City but also threw two interceptions in the divisional-round loss. He was also sacked eight times but is determined to bounce back in 2025. "I have a lot of learning to do, and to be able to get so close to winning two divisional games or not, the first in Baltimore (Ravens) got us pretty good, but to be in the game with Kansas City (Chiefs) all game," said Stroud, "Playing in that atmosphere and learning, I know, if you know God ordains that for us to be back in that position if we do what we need to do, the experiences that I've had in the past will help that on what it takes to win in the fourth quarter because that's really what the game comes down to. So I can't say that last year was a good or bad year, in my opinion, but internally, my expectations for this year are probably higher than a lot of people's outside expectations." Stroud would continue his stay at Fanatics Fest NYC, greeting fans and participating in the many on-site activities. One of the festival's many activities includes the Nike and LEGO Group Play Arena, an active basketball-themed experience open to all attendees. Guests participated in various activities, including games on a Nike x LEGO basketball court, an Athlete Studio experience where attendees created personalized LEGO jerseys and trading cards, and an MVP Tunnel Walk.
