Mason Graham or Jalon Walker for Jaguars? Todd McShay makes his pick

Mason Graham or Jalon Walker for Jaguars? Todd McShay makes his pick On 'The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny,' NFL draft analyst Todd McShay was asked to pick Mason Graham or Jalon Walker for the Jaguars at pick No. 5.
On the latest episode of 'The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny,' NFL draft analyst Todd McShay was presented with two options for the Jacksonville Jaguars at pick No. 5. He could select Mason Graham or Jalon Walker.
Without hesitation, McShay picked Walker.
"I've got physical guys up front," said McShay of the Jaguars' defensive line. "My run defense was really bad last year, but you know what was worse? My pass defense. Last in the league.
"I need another pass rusher on that defensive front. I can kick Travon Walker inside in certain situations. I've got guys that can two-gap and we can improve in that area, and I've got to be better versus the pass. I'm going to take Jalon Walker and utilize his versatility. He's such a dynamic, explosive athlete. For some reason, I just feel like that's the play if you want to take a significant step next year."
Along with Kimes and McShay mentioning Walker at pick No. 5 for the Jaguars, Adam Schefter did as well recently.
Walker played both off-ball linebacker and pass rusher in the Georgia defense. To maximize that versatility, NFL.com's Lance Zierlein wrote in his scouting report utilizing Walker as a linebacker on early downs and a blitzer or pass rusher during obvious passing situations.
Then, as McShay said, on those passing downs, that would then allow the Jaguars to move Travon Walker inside, with Jalon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen at defensive end.
Along with what Walker would add to the Jaguars' defense on the field, also mentioned in Zierlein's scouting report is that his leadership is "famous in the Georgia building," which is important to note, given that we've frequently heard GM James Gladstone discuss the importance of bringing in "intangibly rich" players.
In Anthony Campanile's defensive scheme, where versatility and the ability to adapt will be important elements, Walker's ability to play multiple roles could be quite valuable.

Bill Belichick-Jordon Hudson drama revealed in new emails

Emails obtained by WRAL show Bill Belichick addressing the controversy over his romantic and professional relationship with Jordon Hudson. The relationship between the legendary coach and the 24-year-old model has drawn national scrutiny after a controversial "CBS Sunday Morning" interview. Hudson declared, "We're not talking about that" when Belichick was asked about how the couple met. Belichick claimed in one email that CBS "secretly" had a camera focused on Hudson despite the model requesting to sit off camera. "Secretly, CBS had a camera focused on Jordon where Lead producer Gabe instructed her to sit," Belichick reportedly wrote. Belichick elaborated on why the question of how they met was not answered. "I met Jordon randomly on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021. That is no secret. Jordon was not dodging the specific question regarding how we met, but rather was preventing the interview from continuing to probe into personal matters," the email said. Belichick also addressed why Hudson was present at the interview to begin with. He believed the interview would be focused on his book, "The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football." "Jordon was present at the CBS interview because David Kass, the Simon & Schuster publicist, was not there," Belichick wrote, referring to the publisher of his book. "I included Jordon in the book acknowledgments because she was a creative contributor to the book, including having the idea for formatting the 4 special pages in the book." In another email, Belichick addressed reports that he requested to have Hudson copied on every email sent to him. "Jordon and I have both a personal & professional relationship," Belchick wrote in the email. "This is not a secret. Jordon assists me with my personal media, which is why I asked UNC to forward media requests (E.G. CBS 60 Minutes) to her. Jordon has zero involvement in the UNC football program, beyond the degree that my personal media intersects with it." Belichick released a statement saying he was "surprised" about getting the questions about his relationship and that when Hudson had stepped in, she was doing her job. He went on to accuse CBS of creating a "false narrative" with so-called "selectively edited clips." CBS responded, disagreeing with Belichick's version of events. In a separate interview with ESPN, Belichick insisted Hudson is not involved with UNC football. NFC West quarterbacks fall into 2 tiers entering 2025

Find out where CBS Sports puts Matthew Stafford, Brock Purdy, Kyler Murray and Sam Darnold in their 2025 QB tiers. The NFL is done with all offseason work and it is the time of year where we get lists and rankings of all sorts. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin ranked and tiered all 32 projected starting quarterbacks for 2025. The tiers? Arizona Cardinals fans will have interest in seeing where the quarterbacks in the NFC West fall? While we did focus on Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray already, let's see about all four starters in the division. NFC West quarterback tiers The four starters in the division fall into two categories: Borderline stars Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams and Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers fall here, and they are fairly tiered. Stafford has been elite talent for much of his career, but now he is a little less consistent and needs his playmakers to do more, while Purdy, after MVP-type production, saw his play level out after he missed top offensive players. Volatile veterans Murray probably should be up in the borderline star tier, but he hasn't looked like that since 2021. He isn't necessarily volatile because, at his worst, he plays at a league-average level. Seattle's Sam Darnold is the face of volatile veteran. While his 2024 season showed the level of play he could reach when he was drafted third overall in 2018, he has been wildly inconsistent in his career, prone to turnovers. he won't have the weapons he had in Minnesota, so he will have to prove himself again with the Seahawks. Saints Make Roster Move At Running Back On Friday

Saints Make Roster Move At Running Back On Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New Orleans Saints have waived running back Xazavian Valladay on Friday. This was first reported by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network on Friday afternoon. Advertisement The 26-year-old Valladay had shown some impressive flashes through New Orleans OTA sessions and minicamp this offseason. With the recent signing of veteran back Cam Akers, however, the position had become crowded and the Saints needed to make a move to create roster space. Akers joined a room that already had starter Alvin Kamara and returning veterans Kendre Miller and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The Saints also signed Velus Jones earlier this offseason and added two rookies in Devin Neal and Marcus Yarns. During his one season with the Sun Devils, he led the Pac-12 with 16 touchdowns and had 1,192 yards rushing. The Houston Texans signed Valladay after he wasn't selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. He was released midway through preseason and picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but released again before the start of the 2023 regular season.
