WWE LFG confirms renaming of Troy Yearwood in his maiden Evolve appearance

WWE Star Troy Yearwood has received a change in his in-ring name after his debut at the WWE LFG: Legends & Future Greats Season One. This development followed his maiden win at the WWE Evolve show, which was held and taped at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, on June 11, 2025.
Fans at WWE Evolve witnessed Troy Yearwood in action, but under a brand-new name. WWE has confirmed the change of his name, and from now on, he will be known as Jamar Hampton. The name change is quite common in WWE as it represents WWE's strategy to reset his image and potentially elevate him within their system.

The name change was revealed during a recent taping of WWE Evolve, where Yearwood made his in-ring debut under the new identity.
The rebranded WWE star not only introduced himself with a fresh persona but also secured a victory over fellow competitor

with his wrestling prowess and skills.
Previously, Hampton announced the name change in a promo ahead of the match, in which he stated that it was time to begin a new chapter in his career.
The change proved to be successful, as Hampton picked up the win in his WWE Evolve debut.
According to Cagematch.net, Hampton's debut comes after a month of filing a trademark of 'Jamar Hampton' on April 27, with last night's Evolve being taped two days before then on April 25.
It is to be noted that Troy Yearwood was a member of 'Team Mickie James' during LFG Season One, however, this did not last long as he was eliminated from the men's LFG Tournament in the first round by Chris Island.

The June 20th edition of Friday Night SmackDown took place at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The show saw the first semi-finals of the King and Queen of the Ring take place, with two WWE superstars making their way to the finals. At the end of the show, John Cena stood tall and took one of the most important pages from CM Punk's playbook after beating him down. Opening segment with LA Knight — WWE (@WWE) LA Knight opened the show and talked about his feud with Seth Rollins and his faction, and called Rollins out. Instead, Paul Heyman came out to have an exchange with him. Heyman told LA Knight to leave the city, but he refused and wanted to fight him. As he left the ring, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed came down to the ring and launched a 2-on-1 attack on him. They had the upper hand for a bit before LA Knight brought in a chair to even the odds. This was followed up with multiple Tsunamis, from the top rope by Bronson Reed. John Cena vs R-Truth This was the main event of WWE SmackDown this week. The heated foes locked up and engaged in a heated battle that spilled all over the ringside. John Cena delivered a compelling showdown while R-Truth brought his newly found aggression. Cena attempted to leave the match, but Truth tried to stop, only to be nailed by the champion with his Undisputed WWE title belt, causing a disqualification. CM Punk arrived to brawl with him, but Cena got the upper hand using a low blow. He then laid him out with a belt shot and AA through the table. Cena delivered a promo similar to CM Punk's infamous pipebomb in 2011 and left as Punk lay lifeless in the ring.
