Former Miss India Ruhii Singh To Star In Milap Zaveri's Masti 4, Begins Comic Timing Prep
Last Updated:
Ruhii Singh joins Masti 4 as the lead opposite Aftab Shivdasani. The actress is sharpening her comic timing for the Milap Zaveri comedy. Shoot begins in London soon.
Actor and former Miss India Ruhii Singh is all set to bring her lively spirit and 'goofy" side to the silver screen, having joined the cast of Masti 4—the fourth installment in Bollywood's long-running, beloved adult comedy franchise. The film, helmed by Milap Zaveri and produced by Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria under the Maruti International banner, promises a fresh dose of laughs, outrageous antics, and all the chaos fans have come to expect from the Masti universe.
This marks a significant milestone for Ruhii, who plays one of the three female leads opposite Aftab Shivdasani, with whom she shares the screen for the first time. Determined to deliver a pitch-perfect performance, Ruhii has dived deep into preparation—particularly focusing on sharpening her comic timing and building authentic rhythm with the script.
In a candid statement, Ruhii said, 'I'm watching lots of comedy films and works of legendary comedy actors like Melissa McCarthy, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Paresh Rawal, Tina Fey, etc., to understand their comic timing and the art better. I'm also working closely with my acting teacher, Abhay Joshi from the National School of Drama, on the script and my scenes. I'm very excited and looking forward to performing with preparation."
While Ruhii is often recognised for her glamorous roles and confident screen presence, this opportunity to tap into a full-blown comedy marks a new, exciting chapter in her acting journey. Her selection also feels like a natural progression—she is, after all, the brand ambassador of the Indian Comic Association, and those close to her often describe her as delightfully 'goofy" in real life.
'Masti is amongst the biggest fun franchises in India," she said. 'To be in a space that has previously seen such brilliant talent is an honour. I feel blessed to be one among them. To say I am excited to start shooting soon is an understatement. Thank you, Milap Zaveri, for the big thumbs up."
The Masti series, which began in 2004, redefined adult comedy in Bollywood. The original film featured the iconic trio of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani, alongside female leads such as Amrita Rao, Genelia D'Souza, and Tara Sharma. With its rib-tickling humour and outrageous escapades, it became an instant cult favourite.
Masti 2 (Grand Masti) followed in 2013, and Masti 3 (Great Grand Masti) hit theatres in 2016. Each installment introduced new female leads—Karishma Tanna, Sonalee Kulkarni, Manjari Fadnis, Mishti, Pooja Bose, and Shraddha Das—who brought freshness to the franchise's recurring themes of friendship, mischief, and misunderstood relationships.
Now, nearly a decade later, Masti 4 is all set to revive the franchise with a new storyline, bigger production scale, and a vibrant cast that promises to blend nostalgia with novelty.
Production for Masti 4 is already in motion. In December 2024, Aftab Shivdasani began filming and shared several behind-the-scenes glimpses on social media. One photo showed him holding a clapboard marked 'Masti 4,' while another featured him posing with co-star Riteish Deshmukh. Bollywood veteran Jeetendra also made an appearance during the shoot's commencement, posing warmly with the cast and crew.
Although Vivek Oberoi wasn't present at the launch, he posted a humorous video from the set, featuring Riteish, and teased his return to the franchise. '#Masti4 is now officially a love story—the bromance begins!" he quipped. '20 years of madness since the first one! Sorry I couldn't make it for the launch boys @milapzaveri @riteishd @aftabshivdasani. Will see you at the shoot super soon!"
Milap Zaveri, known for his flair for commercial entertainers, seems poised to inject new energy into the franchise while retaining its signature irreverent tone. Joining forces with Waveband Productions' A Jhunjhunwala and SK Ahluwalia, Masti 4 aims to be a laugh riot with a new-age twist.
Ruhii Singh is set to fly to London by the end of this month to begin filming. The international schedule hints at a more expansive, visually grand setting for this installment, with a cast that is geared up to create comic magic once again.

Meet actor who once sold products door to door, one film changed his life, became a star, was called ‘next Shah Rukh Khan', built Rs 1200 core business, he is…
He may have entered Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varma's Company (2002), but Vivek Oberoi's biggest role has unfolded far beyond the silver screen. While many remember him for films like Saathiya and Masti, few know that this actor-turned-entrepreneur built a business empire worth Rs 1200 crore, largely without help, not even from his superstar father, Suresh Oberoi. Despite being born into a film family, Vivek's journey was anything but privileged. In a recent podcast interview, the actor peeled back the layers of his public persona to reveal a sharply honed business mind, one that took root when he was just 10. At an age when most kids were lost in video games, Vivek was busy selling door-to-door and pitching marketing strategies to his father. 'Dad would bring home a product and ask me to make a business plan. Then he'd quiz me — 'How will you sell this?' That's how I learned,' Vivek shared. But there was no silver spoon. In his own words, 'He told me, 'I'm rich. You're not. You'll become rich — but on your own.' The words stuck. By the age of 19, Vivek had already earned $3 million for his first company. He sold it four years later at 23. Today, he claims to have taken nine companies public in the Indian stock market and is preparing to launch four more. On the professional front, Vivek hasn't delivered many hits lately. His last prominent appearance was in PM Narendra Modi (2019), where he played the lead role. In 2024, he appeared in the historical action film Kesari Veer alongside Suniel Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi, though the project didn't make major waves. For now, his film calendar appears empty. But even without a blockbuster, Vivek Oberoi is far from irrelevant. His sharp pivot from screen to stocks has redefined his legacy, one built not on box office numbers but on boardroom deals.

Here's how Genelia Deshmukh left husband Riteish Deshmukh beaming with pride and joy
Mumbai: Actor-director Riteish Deshmukh couldn't contain his joy as his wife Genelia Deshmukh's latest film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' opened to glowing reviews and impressive box office numbers. Taking to social media, the actor shared a heartwarming note celebrating the film's success and expressing his pride in his wife's achievement. The 'Masti' actor, on Sunday, shared a happy photo with his wife and kids alongside a heartfelt note. Calling Genelia by her affectionate nickname. Riteish wrote, 'Waking up smiling to great reviews and box office collections of #sitaarezameenpar ….. happy & a proud husband….. congratulations Baiko @geneliad.' In the image, the couple is seen smiling with their sons in bed as they pose for a family picture. Interestingly, Riteish Deshmukh has been cheering for his wife by sharing shout-outs on social media. Even during the film's special screening, he stepped aside to let her pose with Aamir Khan, allowing her to fully enjoy the moment. A few days ago, the 'Housefull 5' actor penned an appreciation note for his wife, Genelia, on his Instagram handle. The note read, 'Please do yourself a favour — go watch the best film of the year! #SitaareZameenPar is not just a movie, it's an experience. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry — and by the time it ends, it leaves you a better human being. The true 'sitaares' of this film are the children — absolutely phenomenal performances that steal your heart and never let go.' Referring to Aamir as one of Bollywood's best, Riteish added, 'Aamir Khan once again proves why he's one of the finest actors this country has ever seen. His performance is deeply layered, incredibly nuanced, and profoundly moving.' Praising his better half, he wrote, '@geneliad is pure magic on screen. She lights up every frame with her presence — her eyes say everything, and I say this not just as a husband, but as a genuine fan of her craft.' 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' which stars Genelia opposite Aamir Khan, marked another milestone in the actress' evolving journey as an actress. The sports drama has been widely appreciated for its emotional depth and engaging narrative. The film was released in theatres on June 20, 2025.
