
At least three police officers killed in Syria car bomb

DAMASCUS: Three police officers were killed and two other people wounded when a car bomb exploded near a police station in eastern Syria on Sunday, state news agency SANA reported.
"Three police officers were martyred and two others were injured in an explosion that occurred today near the police station in the city of Al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor," SANA reported.
"At exactly 07:13 pm (1603 GMT) today, an explosion occurred near the Al-Mayadeen police station," Khalil Abdulmoneim al-Ayoub, director of Al-Mayadeen city, said in the report.
"Initial investigations and an inspection of the site revealed that it was caused by a car bomb, resulting in the deaths of three members of the General Security and a number of injuries," he said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said five people had been killed in the blast, including four police officers.
"Two civilians, including a girl, were injured," it said.
According to the war monitor, the explosion coincided with the launch of a security campaign in Al-Mayadeen by the General Security, the country's new police force.

Delhi: Speeding Audi car hits bike in Bhogal area, 1-year-old girl injured

According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received around 3:20 AM at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Police Station, reporting that an Audi car had collided with a motorcycle near Bhogal Chowk. The injured were identified as Parvaiz aged 29 years old, a resident of Haji Colony in Jamia Nagar, his wife, and their 1-year-old daughter. The family were travelling across Bhogal Chowk when they were hit by an Audi car. All three were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre by the police van. Parvaiz and his wife received minor injuries and were discharged after treatment. Their daughter, who had also sustained minor injuries, was kept under observation for a while and later discharged. Police said the Audi car driver, identified as Rashit Kumar, 21, a resident of Old Rajinder Nagar, has been apprehended. A case under FIR No. 154/25 was registered at Hazrat Nizamuddin Police Station under sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The vehicle involved was found damaged at the scene. Further investigation on the incident is still underway. (ANI)

Gujarat Police arrests social media influencer for allegedly honeytrapping builder
ANI 19 Jun 2025, 10:37 GMT+10 Surat (Gujarat) [India], June 19 (ANI): Gujarat Police arrested social media influencer Kirti Patel, with a following of more than one million followers on Instagram, who had been absconding for over 10 months after allegedly honeytrapping a builder. Alok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-1, Surat, stated that an FIR had been registered for honey-trapping against Kirti Patel and five other accused, out of which four had been arrested. He further stated that the accused influencer had been arrested based on the warrant produced before the court, and added that Patel had demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore from a builder. 'In June 2024, an FIR was registered for honey-trapping, and 5 accused were there, 4 were arrested while Kirti Patel was on the run for the last 10 months. We had arrested her based on the warrant issued by the court and produced her before the court. She has demanded a ransom of 2 crores from a builder,' Kumar told ANI. The investigation is ongoing and further details are awaited. (ANI)

Uttarakhand: 2 dead, 3 injured as debris falls near Junglechatti on Kedarnath trek

Police and District Disaster Relief Force (DDRF) teams quickly reached the spot, rescued the injured, and took them to Gaurikund for treatment. In a post on X, Uttarakhand Police shared, 'Today at 11:20 AM some travellers and dandi/kandi carriers were hit by the debris that fell from the hill near Jangalchatti.' 'SDRF and police immediately rescued 3 injured and sent them to Gaurikund. 2 passengers confirmed dead. Identity to be determined. Traffic on the travel route continues under police surveillance,' the post reads. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, and the route is now under police watch.
