Mid East Info07-02-2025

In a milestone partnership uniting the worlds of luxury automotive design and high-end real estate, Vantage Developments and Vittoria Group proudly announce a strategic alliance with Venere Group, a globally renowned Italian manufacturer. In late April, a milestone event will see Venere Group unveil its prototype Italian supercar while Vantage Developments introduces a new residential tower in Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC), Dubai, featuring exclusive Italian design elements from Venere Group.
The residential tower, designed by Milan-based architects Gandolfi e Mura and developed by Vantage Developments and Vittoria Group, reimagines luxury living through the lens of Venere Group's hypercar design philosophy. With a Gross Development Value (GDV) of AED 185,000,000, the 140-unit tower draws inspiration from both the Miami skyline and Venere Group's signature automotive aesthetics, featuring fluid, aerodynamic lines and materials synonymous with high-performance supercars. Each residence—ranging from apartments to penthouses—is fully furnished with Venere Group's Italian-made furniture, blending avant-garde design with European sophistication. Starting at AED 800,000, the units cater to discerning buyers seeking a turnkey lifestyle underscored by smart home technology, energy efficiency, and a Green Building certification.
Positioned as a first-of-its-kind offering in Dubai's real estate market, the tower bridges the gap between high-quality design and mid-market accessibility. Its standout amenities include a jogging track, coworking spaces, a private cinema, spa, sauna, dog park, and app-controlled smart home systems. The project also introduces Vantage Developments' signature 24/7 concierge service, tailored for both long-term residents and short-stay guests.
Attendees at the launch event will witness the global premiere of Venere Group's prototype supercar—a strategic choice to debut in the UAE, reflecting Dubai's growing influence as a luxury innovation hub. Simultaneously, the event will showcase the tower's show apartments, where Venere Group's furniture line and hypercar-inspired design elements will be displayed for the first time. The partnership also solidifies Vantage Developments as Venere's exclusive real estate branding partner, with plans to integrate their design ethos across future developments.
Kabir Joshi, Founder & CEO of Vantage Developments, emphasised the collaboration's visionary scope: 'This partnership represents an entirely new frontier in real estate. By integrating Venere's hypercar vision into our architectural blueprint, we're creating a lifestyle that's both high-performance and elegantly livable—setting a bold new standard for Dubai's mid-market luxury segment.'
Stefano Asuni, Managing Partner at Venere Group, added: 'Dubai's ambition aligns perfectly with our brand's ethos. Launching our supercar here, alongside Vantage Developments' architectural marvel, symbolises a new chapter where engineering, art, and lifestyle converge. This is more than a project; it's a legacy.'
Beyond its design credentials, the tower emphasises sustainability with energy-efficient systems and eco-conscious construction practices. Coupled with its prime location and investor-focused amenities, the project is poised to attract a niche audience of design-savvy buyers, expatriates, and investors seeking a unique blend of productivity and relaxation.

Egypt's Beltone Leasing secures $20m from German-managed funds

Beltone Leasing and Factoring, a subsidiary of Egypt's Beltone Holding, has secured $20m in funding from two impact investment funds managed by Germany-based Finance in Motion GmbH. The funding is divided equally, with $10m from the SANAD Fund for MSME and $10m from the Green for Growth Fund (GGF), the company said. The agreement has a repayment tenor of five years. SANAD's contribution will be used to support financial inclusion for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and low-income households across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The portion from GGF will be allocated to financing renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable resource use initiatives in MENA and neighbouringregions. The company said the transaction is part of its strategy to deliver non-bank financial solutions that promote economic empowerment and environmental sustainability, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and its commitment to sustainability across its operations. Amir Ghannam, Deputy Head of NBFIs for Leasing, Factoring, and Consumer Finance, said: 'Securing foreign currency funding from institutions like SANAD and GGF enhances our ability to diversify our capital base and offer more competitive financing solutions. This funding will enable us to strengthen our support for MSMEs while accelerating green projects that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future.' Sherif Hassan, Group Treasurer and Managing Director of Debt Capital Markets, said: 'This funding reflects our strong collaboration with Finance in Motion and our commitment to channeling strategic capital to grow Beltone Leasing and Factoring. It also highlights our focus on ESG-driven financing, in line with the broader Beltone's mission to support sustainable and impactful growth.' Both funds are managed by Finance in Motion GmbH, an impact asset manager focused on sustainable development in emerging economies, in collaboration with development finance institutions, private investors, and governments.

Euro Surges Against Egyptian Pound to Over 30-Piaster Jump

Taarek Refaat The euro witnessed a notable surge against the Egyptian pound on Sunday, marking a significant start to the banking first day of the week in Egypt. The exchange rate climbed by more than 30 piasters compared to Saturday's rates, reflecting growing foreign exchange pressures amid ongoing economic reforms and global uncertainty. According to official data from Egyptian banks, the euro traded at EGP 58.09 for purchase and EGP 58.21 for sale at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). At Egypt's two largest state-owned banks—National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr—the euro climbed even higher, recording EGP 58.33 to buy and EGP 58.71 to sell. Sunday's rate spike marks one of the strongest weekly openings for the euro in Egypt this year, following a series of steady gains throughout June. Compared to early June—when the euro hovered around EGP 56.4–56.6—the current exchange rate reflects a total increase of nearly 2 Egyptian pounds in just over two weeks. 'The sharp appreciation of the euro against the pound highlights renewed pressure on Egypt's foreign exchange market,' said a senior currency trader at a private Cairo bank, speaking on condition of anonymity. 'It may be due to a mix of reduced hard currency inflows, seasonal demand, and adjustments linked to the government's ongoing economic reform agenda.' Egypt continues to navigate a complex economic landscape as it implements IMF-backed reforms. These include a more flexible exchange rate regime, subsidy cuts, and efforts to attract foreign direct investment. While these policies are aimed at stabilizing long-term economic fundamentals, they have also resulted in short-term volatility in the local currency. The euro's strength may also be tied to regional and global factors. Analysts point to tighter European Central Bank policy, geopolitical tensions, and shifting investor sentiment in emerging markets as contributing forces behind capital outflows from Egypt and similar economies. For Egyptian households and businesses, the rise in euro prices adds further pressure to an economy already grappling with inflation and rising import costs. Imported goods priced in euros—ranging from pharmaceuticals to industrial equipment—are likely to become more expensive if the trend continues. Tourists traveling to Europe this summer will also feel the pinch, as the cost of exchanging pounds for euros rises sharply. Meanwhile, Egyptian exporters and those receiving remittances in euros may find some relief in the stronger European currency.
