Convicted child killer mom kicked out of Arizona court room by judge: 'Take her out'

Hindustan Times07-06-2025

A 51-year-old woman, Lori Vallow Daybell, who is already serving time for multiple murder convictions, was removed from an Arizona courtroom on Friday after a heated exchange with the judge during her ongoing attempted murder trial, reported the New York Post.
The woman, known as the 'Doomsday mom,' is representing herself in the case and is accused of conspiring to kill her niece's ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux. The incident reportedly took place on Oct. 2, 2019, when Boudreaux said he was shot at while driving home in Gilbert, Arizona. Prosecutors allege Vallow Daybell and her brother, Alex Cox, plotted the attack, with Cox firing the shot that narrowly missed Boudreaux's head.
Tensions escalated in the courtroom when Vallow Daybell attempted to argue for an additional hearing to present character evidence in her defence.
'Do we get a hearing on what 404b (character evidence) can come in,' Vallow Daybell asked, as reported by East Idaho News. 'If I opened the door, do I get a hearing do we stop the trial and I get a hearing?'
Judge Justin Beresky responded sharply, stating a short hearing could be held but warned that such evidence would allow prosecutors to bring up her past murder convictions.
'If you are going to introduce how you have great character and good character we will have a short hearing on what evidence they can bring in to rebut that character which could include that you have been convicted of four murders,' Beresky said.

During the back-and-forth, Vallow Daybell accused the judge of raising his voice.
'You do not need to talk to me like that, I'm being very courteous to you,' she said.
Judge Beresky then ordered court security to remove her.
'Take her out, take her out,' he said. 'You have been nothing near courteous to me during the course of these proceedings.'
The courtroom went into a 15-minute recess as Vallow Daybell was escorted out. Beresky warned that her right to represent herself could be revoked if her behavior continued.
'Ms. Daybell, if you continue to ask lines of questions where I've sustained an objection, into areas where I've sustained an objection, if you continue to speak over me or the prosecutor … I may be forced to revoke your pro se status,' he said, as reported by KSL.com.
Vallow Daybell had previously chosen to invoke her pro se status before the trial began. The proceedings started with jury selection on May 30. On the second day, proceedings were paused when she claimed to be ill. She later appeared in court in a wheelchair on June 2, crying and stating she felt nauseous.
However, Judge Beresky found no medical documentation to support her claims and ordered the trial to continue.
During her cross-examination of Boudreaux, Vallow Daybell questioned him about their relationship and her character. Boudreaux testified that they often argued and did not have a good relationship, according to KSL.com.
Vallow Daybell was convicted in 2023 of the murders of her two youngest children, Joshua 'JJ' Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16. Their remains were found on the property of Chad Daybell, her fifth husband. Both were also found guilty of murdering Chad's former wife, Tammy Daybell, in October 2019. The couple had led a 'doomsday cult' during their time together.

Kol cops arrest 3 Zimbabwean nat'ls from Mohali for cyber fraud

Kolkata: After a dramatic cross-country chase between cyber fraudsters from Africa and Kolkata Police, three Zimbabwean nationals were arrested from Mohali in Punjab for allegedly orchestrating a sophisticated cyber fraud that duped a senior pharmaceutical company official of over Rs 1.1 crore. The accused — Tinashe Gadzikkwa Praise (22), Malvern Matumgamire (25) and Nyamhunga Lenon Kudakwashe (23) — were held from different locations in Mohali's Kharar area early on Saturday following a brief chase involving the cops, helped by Punjab Police. The arrests, by Kolkata Police's cyber cell, came following a complaint by Sandip Guha (53), a resident of New Town, this May. The suspects allegedly created fake email addresses and documents bearing the letterhead of a top UK pharmaceutical company and the World Health Organization to lure Guha into a fraudulent kola nut trading scheme. Kola nut is used in medicines that are used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The scammers expanded their communication to WhatsApp, using multiple international numbers, primarily from the UK. They introduced Guha to alleged kola nut sellers from northeast India, and, to gain his trust, also "delivered" small quantities of the same. "Convinced by these initial transactions and the professional appearance of the operation, Guha transferred a total of Rs 1,10,41,250 through multiple RTGS transactions to various Indian bank accounts," recalled an officer. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Adidas Three Combo Short With 60% Discount So Hurry Up! "The arrests are significant as it exposes an international cyber fraud ring operating from Indian soil," said Kumar. "We are investigating possible links to other similar cases across the country," he added. The accused would be brought to Kolkata for further investigation and more arrests were likely, an officer said. The case had been registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and BNS, including sections related to fraud, impersonation and cybercrime.

'Democratic Party corrupt': Indian-origin county judge KP George announces switch to GOP; Republicans say they don't want him

Indian-origin county judge KP George announces he will be joining the Republican Party. Indian-origin judge of Fort Bend County, Texas, recently announced that he will be switching from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party and will run as a Republican in his 2026 re-election bid. But the Republican Party of Texas said they don't support George's attempt to rebrand himself as a Republican as George never supported the principles of the party and is only switching the party as he is facing money laundering charges. George made history when he was first elected in 2018 as an Indian-American. 'Today, I'm making an all-important announcement that I am officially joining the Republican Party. For the past few years, it has become very clear to me, and also many others, that the Democratic Party has become one of corrupt and radical political ideology and positions that simply do not reflect the values of Fort Bend County families, small businesses and hardworking residents of Fort Bend County,' George said as he announced his decision. 'I have always believed in the foundational American principles of faith, family and freedom, And I realize that the Republican Party champions these values,' George said. Judge George is facing an indictment on a misdemeanor offense and has consistently maintained his innocence, calling the charges against him a 'political witch hunt.' The Democrats have demanded he resign. In his press conference, George said prosecutors offered to drop the felony charges if he agreed to resign. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scam Exposed: What They Won't Tell You about zero trust! The Republican Party said in a statement that the charges against KP George are rooted in documented allegations of unethical and possibly criminal behavior. "KP George has never supported our platform, principles or priorities," party chairman Abraham George said. "While we are not in the business of telling people they cannot become Republicans, we are also not going to stand by while someone tries to hijack our Party's good name to escape the consequences of their actions," KP George said he does not expect everyone to embrace him. "I am looking forward to prove it to them. I'm going to be a better Republican than anybody in the coming months," he said. Born in India's Kerala, KP George studied in India. He immigrated to the United States in 1993 and started working for a financial firm in New York. Then he settled in Texas, earning certifications in finance and becoming a certified financial planner.
