Peter Andre weighs in about 'drama with exes' after Katie Price's surprising comments about his wife
Peter Andre has offered his thoughts about navigating drama with exes after Katie Price raised eyebrows with her recent comments.
Earlier this month, Katie revealed what she really thinks about Peter's wife Emily, noting the fact that she and Peter always used to step out with the whole family, while Emily 'doesn't do all that' for him.
Although Peter did not address the comments, he opened up on his thoughts about navigating exes during his latest new magazine column.
Addressing Zara McDermott 's ex and new boyfriend coming face to face recently, he shared: ' Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson were both at Soccer Aid together for an incredible cause. The fact they've both been involved with Zara McDermott at some point is secondary for me.
'I think people will always try to make a fuss about dramas with exes, but we don't know what happened, and having been part of Soccer Aid in the past, I know people just focus on the game and the cause, everything else is left off the pitch. That's how it should be.'
Peter and Katie split in 2009 after meeting and falling in love on I'm A Celebrity five years prior.
Katie addressed her thoughts on Peter's new wife during appearance on comedian Katherine Ryan's What's My Age Again Podcast, admitting their daughter Princess was left baffled by his new relationship.
The mother-of-five recalled: '[Princess] says, "You're just so nuts mum. When I see you and Emily, you're just so different. I can't imagine you and dad."
'I said, "I was with your dad six years. Trust me, we had a laugh and bantered together, we did."
'She said, "I just can't imagine dad being like that." I said "But he was, he was like that. We had a laugh."
'And you know, she can't believe that whenever he went anywhere or me, we were together with the kids. And we'd go as a family.
'Emily doesn't do all that for Pete. Me and Pete just did it all together as a family. If we'd got you kids, you would come with us.'
Yet she did have kind words for Emily, with Katie adding: 'I'm glad he's with Emily. She seems like a proper lady. I think it'd be weird if he went for someone like me.'
Katie - who has revealed she and Peter don't talk at all anymore - recently opened up about the real reason for their divorce.
It had long been rumoured that the glamour model and her ex split over her close relationship with her dressage rider Andrew Gould.
During an appearance on Paul C Brunson's podcast We Need To Talk, she said: 'We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I've never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.
'But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, "That's it. I've had enough. I've had enough". It got to a point where I went, "Well f***ing divorce me". And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids.
'That day, I'm at the airport, it's all on Sky News, it wasn't mutual at all. And then I released a statement saying I don't want to split with Pete, it's Pete that's splitting with me. Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.
'It's all through lawyers. I've never sat down with him, we probably would've sorted it out but we were kept apart.'
After they announced their split, Peter said he was 'gutted' that Katie had taken their children to the Maldives villa where they had honeymooned in 2005.
He told the Daily Star: 'Being apart from my kids is just breaking my heart. It's destroying me - I'm absolutely gutted.'
Katie added that it is 'the most difficult thing' to co-parent, saying: 'But I realised you get to know what people are really like, and I've had it tough. But yeah, it is sad.'
The TV personality and her ex-husband were honest about their jealous rows and were regularly seen arguing on their reality show, Katie & Peter.
However, it came as a shock to their huge fanbase when they decided to go their separate ways - and seemingly to Katie, too.
Revealing it wasn't her choice to split at the time, she said: 'Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together, and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life.
'This is not what I want, and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete.'

Nettle Eating: World Championships returns to Bottle Inn
The Stinging Nettle Eating World Championships has been revived at a Dorset pub, with the winner chomping through leaves on 74ft (22.5m) on nettle stems. The bizarre but popular event returned to the newly renovated Bottle Inn in Marshwood, Dorset, on Saturday, after a six-year hour-long competition involves eating the leaves from 2ft lengths of stinging nettles before the empty stalks are counted. Michael Hobbs was proclaimed men's champion while first-time entrant Lucy Dimody won the women's competition, munching her way through 68ft (21m). Tessa and Julian Blundy, who have been renovating the 16th-Century pub, restarted the competition, with entrants restricted to 40 Bottle Inn first hosted its nettle eating contest in 1986 and the tradition almost died out when the pub closed in 2022, it was revived by Dorset Nectar Cider Farm, which ran it for three years while the Bottle Inn was closed. This year's event also saw a nettle-growing competition, won by Jamie Giles who produced a 8ft 8in (2.6m) stem. Mr Giles, a landscape gardener, said he had a patch of nettles in his garden of "prestigious length""We're blessed to live in one of the most beautiful parts of Dorset with clay-based soil and lots of sun."He described the return of the championship to its original home as "a great comeback story"."Its a great local endeavour and a great event for Marshwood. A really fun event which the whole village got behind." You can follow BBC Dorset on Facebook, X (Twitter), or Instagram.

Jersey Opera House's new chair rejects 'poison chalice' concern
Jersey Opera House's interim chairperson says she does not see the role as a "poisoned chalice" after becoming the third person to take it on in Robertson took on the position at the St Helier venue on Thursday, 24 hours after the resignation of Cyril Whelan, who stepped down two months after taking over from Dave venue - which has undergone a £13m renovation - has also been dealing with other resignations, with interim director Andy Eagle stepping down in April and Bruno Santos-Costa also leaving his role as a board Robertson said all the resignations were due to personal reasons and a lot of hard work was ongoing to get an exciting programme on at the venue. Ms Robertson said she was "desperate" to get a strong programme of shows and looking forward to being the interim said: "I'm certainly not personally viewing the job as a poisoned chalice."Why I joined the board in the first place 18 months ago is because the building is the first real experience I had of theatre as a kid."When Cyril chose to leave for his own personal reasons, having been on the board for 13 years, which is an amazing stint, I really wanted to help push us into the new, exciting chapter for the opera house and get the community back in there." Ms Robertson said the venue was facing some technical challenges ahead of its reopening, but its managing board was facing those head added the venue was committed to making sure it had everything it needed to provide an exciting programme of shows."We'll be making some technical upgrades to things like lighting and sound in very short order so we can keep delivering what the public would like," she said.
