South African dancer Hope Ramafalo showcases the power of passion in dance
South African dancer Hope Ramafalo, also known as King Maestro, is making waves in the amapiano dance scene.

Multi-talented artist Hope Ramafalo, also known as King Maestro, is taking the world by storm with amapiano dance.
This July, Ramafalo will be headlining the BeAfrika Amps international afro dance camp in Montpellier, France, alongside Bontle Modiselle and other renowned dancers from across the globe.
Her international takeover won't just stop in France; soon after, she will be on a dance tour performing in Amsterdam, Spain, Barcelona, Paris, and the United States.
The dancer never thought she could build a career from dance, but she is now living in the reality that it is possible.
'A dance career was never encouraged enough; if anything, people never understand when someone wants to be a dancer, but by God's grace, I found my passion and purpose through dance,' she said.
Sharing a message for the youth who may feel uncertain about careers in the music and dance spaces, Ramafalo encourages them to follow that fire.
'Your path doesn't have to look like everyone else's. We weren't born to play it safe; we were born to move, create, express, and inspire.
'Your gift has a purpose, even if the world hasn't seen it yet. Keep showing up for it.'
The choreographer and dancer won the Social Media Personality of the Year award at the 16th Feather Awards.
With viral dance challenges like Hamba Ha, uMkhukhu (MKK), and Zula ka Strata inspiring millions across the globe, her music has also gained significant traction, with her song "Areyeng" trending on TikTok.
Ramafalo has firsthand experience with the impact of social media on a person's career. There are no auditions, gatekeepers, just a stage without borders.

Nandi Madida celebrates 100 episodes of Africa Now Radio and reflects on her journey in music and motherhood
Since 2023, Nandi has led a sonic tour across Africa, interviewing the biggest and best acts, and shining a spotlight on the superstars making waves both on the continent and around the world. Image: Supplied/Rageinc Productions For the past two years, Nandi Madida has hosted Africa Now Radio on Apple Music 1, and on June 20, she reached the 100th episode mark. Apple Music celebrated the milestone by surprising the 'Black Is King' actress with an intimate dinner. Instead of a normal dinner with her Apple Music bosses, Madida was greeted with her husband Zakes Bantwini's face and select media. "It feels like such an honour," beamed after receiving a 100-rose bouquet in celebration. Previous Africa Now Radio hosts include Nigerian DJ and musician DJ Cuppy, Nigerian presenter Dadaboy Ehiz and South African presenter Luthando 'LootLove' Shosha. "To be honest, the time has flown by because it's been so much fun. I've simply been a voice for what has already been happening. This is Africa's natural trajectory,' she shared in our interview. 'It's seamless because the musicians are so incredibly talented at what they do. I just get to represent this amazing movement." The world is looking to us, this beautiful continent, the cradle of humankind and music. 'Of course, the world had to come back here, to see how we do this music thing. It's amazing that Africa is now the benchmark.' On Africa Now Radio, Madida has interviewed some of Africa's biggest stars, Afrobeats star Oxlade, South African amapiano DJ and producer DBN Gogo and Nigerian rapper ODUMODUBLVCK to name a few. Reflecting on the state of Afro music today, she urged young creatives to think beyond trends and commercial appeal. "Afro music is its entity, it deserves to be viewed as more than just another commercial genre or podcast soundtrack. 'My whole career has been about that. I've always gravitated towards creating new ways, paving new roads for the next generation. I want people, especially young ones, to know they can do things differently and still succeed. 'There's a quote I love: 'Who was she and what did she do? She was herself and she did it all.' That's what I want to stand for. I've enjoyed a unique, beautiful career simply by trusting my gut and following my own path." These days, Madida's life is filled with motherhood, podcasting, and intentional living. But fans have noticed a quiet pause in her music and acting projects. Her husband, Grammy award-winning musician Zakes Bantwini, was quick to correct her when she spoke of her music career in the past tense. 'I've been so honoured to do music, to act. My husband often reminds me, 'No, no, you're still doing music, even if it's in-house.' 'It's great to have a partner who supports me fully, especially in a society where we're still unlearning certain patriarchal ideas. He believes in me doing it all.' Her husband is her biggest cheerleader. Another one! DJ Khaled backs Sundowns for Club World Cup win
DJ Khaled is backing Mamelodi Sundowns for another victory at their second Fifa Club World Cup game this weekend. The South African team will take on Germany's Dortmund on Saturday, 21 June. Earlier this week, the 'Brazilians' beat South Korea's Ulsan 1-0. Can they claim another victory and make it out of the group stages? In a video posted by Roc Nation, DJ Khaled showed love to South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, who are playing at the Fifa Club World Cup, currently taking place in the US. The music producer – who is signed to Roc Nation, and has a notable role in their sporting company – had a special message for the local club. 'Sundowns, congratulations on your big one. Another one, again. Let's go!'. The post was liked by over 50 000 Instagram users, with Springbok captain Siya Kolisi being one of them. The music mogul – real name Khaled Mohammed Khaled – is a longtime supporter of the 'Brazilians', as part of his affiliation with club sponsor, Roc Nation. However, many South Africans doubt whether he personally knows any of the Sundowns players. It remains unclear if DJ Khaled will be watching from the stands to support the South African team. On the same day Sundowns beat Ulsan at an empty Orlando Stadium, the US superstar flew to the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida to watch another team – Real Madrid – play instead.
