SpaceX Falcon 9 mission delivers new batch of Starlink satellites
SpaceX
successfully launched 26 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into
low Earth orbit
on Monday evening, June 16, as part of its Starlink 15-9 mission. The launch occurred at 8:36 p.m. PDT (11:36 p.m. EDT, 0336 UTC) from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at
Vandenberg Space Force Base
in California.
The mission represented the 200th orbital launch from SLC-4E. SpaceX used Falcon 9 rocket booster B1093 for this operation, marking the booster's third flight. B1093 previously supported the Starlink 11-11 and Starlink 15-5 missions.

Approximately eight minutes after liftoff, the Falcon 9 booster landed successfully on the droneship 'Of Course I Still Love You' positioned in the Pacific Ocean. This marked the 137th landing on this specific recovery platform and the 463rd booster landing in SpaceX history.
Vandenberg site sees milestone in SpaceX operations
Of the 199 orbital launches preceding this mission from SLC-4E, 131 were Falcon 9 rockets. The launch pad has a long operational history, beginning in May 1964 when it hosted Atlas-Agena rockets shortly after the activation of the Air Force Western Test Range. The pad later supported numerous Titan rocket launches until 2005.
Live Events
With increasing launch frequency from Vandenberg, SpaceX is undergoing the review process to acquire neighboring Space Launch Complex 6 (SLC-6). The company intends to use that site for additional Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy missions, expanding its launch capabilities on the West Coast.
The Starlink 15-9 mission continues SpaceX's broader plan to provide high-speed internet access through its Starlink satellite constellation. The new batch of V2 Mini satellites will contribute to the growing global network designed to serve remote and underserved regions.

Strait of Hormuz: Oil supply not an issue for India; 'pricing is a bigger concern,' what experts say
Oil supply through the crucial Strait of Hormuz is unlikely to be affected, even though conflict in the Middle-East continues to escalate and crude prices continue to rise. The region remains tense after the recent US strike on Iran, but there is hope that oil supply routes will continue to operate without disruption, experts told ANI. Former HPCL chairman MK Surana said India has reduced its reliance on oil from this region, but warned that any disruption could still push global prices up. 'Any disruption in the Straits and Middle East supply will definitely affect crude oil prices globally. Therefore, for India, pricing is a bigger concern than the availability,' he said. Any immediate disruption to oil supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz is unlikely, adding, 'General understanding and hope is that the supply chain through the Straits of Hormuz will not get blocked in reality and Iran will not precipitate actions that will damage any oil infrastructure in the neighbouring countries.' As long as these two situations are maintained, crude prices are unlikely to go above the $80 range, though there may be occasional spikes depending on news flow. However, in case these two conditions become reality, prices will rally sharply, he said. Surana noted that under normal supply-demand conditions and without the current geopolitical tensions, crude oil prices would typically range between $60 and $ 65 per barrel. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! IC Markets Start Now Undo Energy expert Narendra Taneja said that the Strait of Hormuz has never been closed before and any move by Iran to block it would invite strong international backlash. 'Almost 39 per cent of our oil import tankers pass through the Strait of Hormuz. So, the impact on India would be there, but our biggest worry is the price, not the supply or availability. If Iran is allowed to succeed in blocking the Strait, oil prices may go up to USD 150 per barrel.' Bank of Baroda's chief economist Madan Sabnavis said short-term price hikes won't hurt India much, but prolonged surges above $100 a barrel could slow the economy. 'A 10 per cent increase may not have much of an impact on the economy where the fundamentals are robust. But if it is over USD 100 for a prolonged period of time, it would mean virtually a 25 per cent increase over the base case assumption and can have a major impact on these variables." Ajay Srivastava of GTRI warned that India is highly exposed if the Strait shuts, with two-thirds of its oil and half its LNG passing through it. In case the Strait is closed, it could spike prices, inflation and government spending. Union petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri, however, assured that India is prepared. 'We had diversified the sources of supply. Out of the 5.5 million barrels of crude oil that India consumes daily, about 1.5 to 2 million come through the Straits of Hormuz. We import roughly 4 million barrels through other routes,' he said. He further added that the oil marketing companies have sufficient stocks, with most having stored for up to three weeks. Another company was reported to have a supply sufficient for 25 days. 'We can increase the supply of crude through other routes. We are in touch with all possible actors.' With tensions in the Middle East persisting, India and global markets are keeping a close eye on the situation, hoping the crucial Strait of Hormuz remains open to prevent a steep surge in crude oil prices. Nightlife getaway at Palayam-Ayyankali Hall to open
1 2 3 4 T'puram: The vibrant stretch between Palayam and Mahatma Ayyankali Hall is all set to be transformed into a premier nightlife hub, as part of the Smart City Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (SCTL) initiative. The infrastructure upgrade, valued at approximately Rs 2 crore, is scheduled to begin in Aug, by adding parklets, smart lighting, accessibility features and cultural spaces. The project includes interactive lighting installations designed to create a dynamic evening ambience while parklets will provide greenery and seating. Accessibility was a priority, with ramps, tactile indicators and signage ensuring an inclusive experience. "The work has reached the final stage and we can open it in Aug itself. In addition to basic amenities, we integrated disability-friendly features at every stage," said a senior SCTL official. "By combining parklets, smart lights and performance spaces, we aim to make this stretch a cultural heartbeat after sundown," he said. The smart amenities include EV charging stations, modern public toilets and automated vending kiosks. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Top 25 Most Beautiful Women In The World Articles Vally Undo LED interactive floor tiles, bicycle points, bollard lighting, planter boxes, wheelchair-accessible provisions, cobblestone flooring with casual seating, signage and landscaping works are also included. Utility cables were rerouted underground to avoid the common visual clutter seen commonly across older urban corridors and to create a clean skyline. Roads were relaid and energy-efficient LED street lamps were installed for safer nights. A new performance stage and open-air area will host music, street theatre and community events, blending tradition with modern urban beat. The Palayam-Ayyankali road is already being recognised as the city's second "nightlife hotspot" after Manaveeyam Veedhi. These upgrades echo a larger push by SCTL: Renovating 24 key stretches across the city with smart road infrastructure. These include dedicated pedestrian walkways, cycling lanes, underground utility ducts and modern drainage — parts of which were highlighted during the chief minister's inauguration of the smart roads project last month. SCTL officials said the Palayam-Ayyankali hub exemplifies the city's charm of retaining cultural richness while embracing modern amenity standards.

Kumar Mangalam Birla said the company aspires to build India's first portfolio of billion-dollar brands in the fashion and lifestyle segment . It sells brands like Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen and Louis Philippe. "Over the next five years, we aim to more than double our scale and more than triple our cash profits. This growth will be strategic, disciplined and powered by strong cash flows," he said, adding that it targets to double in revenues as well. Dikshit said the last two years have been difficult for the industry, adding it was cyclic and the company has seen many such turns in the last 25 years of its existence. On the investments front, he said the company has a capex plan of Rs 300 crore per year. "A large part of it is going through the expansion of the retail network, a small part towards the internal capabilities and technology," Dikshit said. It is aiming for a three-fold jump in the profitability over the next 3-5 year period, he said. The company does not have any immediate plans for acquisitions at present, Dikshit said, pointing out that the Reebok brand and Van Heusen's innerwear can be major growth drivers going ahead.
