Research conducted by CyberSafeKids in 58 DEIS and non-DEIS schools found that 53% of eight-year-olds at DEIS schools own a smartphone compared to just 22% in non-DEIS schools. The study surveyed 5,000 children. The research found that 93% of eight-year-olds from DEIS schools have created a social media account, with almost a third of 8- to 12-year-olds in DEIS schools having posted videos of themselves online.

The Big Tech Show: What Apple announced for iPhones, Macs, iPads and Watches at WWDC, and its minimalist position on AI
Adrian is currently in Cupertino at Apple Park, California, where Apple just showcased their latest product upgrades. There were three main areas of focus; iOS 26, Liquid Glass and AI features. CCS Insight analysts, Ben Wood and Leo Gebbie, joined Adrian to discuss the new suite of Apple updates. The conversation began on the topic of AI. Both analysts pointed out that Apple's platform based approach to AI which centers on privacy is behind the other main players in the artificial intelligence space but that the typical Apple customer may not be buying hardware based on its AI capabilities. Major mobile network is giving FREE data even if you're not a customer and you don't need to switch provider
VODAFONE is extending its popular offering of free data to more customers around the country. Last month, the major mobile network 3 Vodafone is giving away a free data deal Credit: Alamy 3 People can get a free eSim for 7-days Credit: Getty Non-Vodafone customers in Belfast, Sheffield, Liverpool and Watford can now access the 'try before you buy' deal. The seven-day offer is open to people geo-located in the above cities and have eSim supported mobile phones. To get the deal, people need to scan a QR code found in the above cities or visit the Vodafone website to sign up online . From there , customers will need to install the eSIM through the My Vodafone App . vodafone eSIMs are digital SIMs that don't require a physical SIM card to be installed. Most modern smartphones support eSIMs, so you can have two SIM services running on your device simultaneously. Vodafone came up with the seven-day deal as a way to lure Brits to the network and lure them into switching if they experience first hand a performance boost. "As London's Best Network, we pride ourselves on connecting this great city to the people and things they love," said Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director for Vodafone UK when the offer launched in London. But the deal cuts the UK's four main network operators down to just three, with the new joint business competing with BT/EE and Virgin Media O2. The tie-up was first announced in 2023 but faced a probe by the competition watchdog, which was worried about the negative effect on consumers.
