Conor McGregor links up with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in Ibiza days after 'punch' incident

McGregor has been pictured linking up with Celtic manager Rodgers in Ibiza, just days after the former UFC champion was allegedly involved in a nightclub altercation Conor McGregor has been spotted rubbing shoulders with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers in Ibiza. The UFC star - who previously claimed he has held discussions to become a Celtic shareholder - took to social media on Friday evening to post a photo of himself alongside the Hoops boss, who was cradling a baby in the image. ‌ "LEGENDARY DOUBLE CHAMP LINK UP! NEXT YEAR, TREBLE! GOD IS GREAT! @CelticFC @ufc Congrats to the Rodgers family on the new addition to their family," McGregor captioned the picture on his social media platforms. ‌ This encounter between Rodgers and McGregor occurred shortly after the latter was reportedly involved in a scuffle at an Ibiza nightclub. The Sun published footage early Tuesday from Pacha nightclub, which purportedly shows McGregor leaning down to speak to an unidentified man on the dance floor. Seconds later, the 36 year old seems to launch two punches. Following the incident, the man was seen hitting the ground, prompting witnesses to share their accounts of what transpired. One eyewitness told The Sun that it seemed there were no repercussions for the ex-dual-weight UFC titleholder. "The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," they reported to The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor." Another recounted: "About five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken." They continued: "About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club. ‌ "It was right before close anyway," they added. "There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy." Since then, McGregor has shared that he was in Ibiza after treating his football teammates to a trip to the Spanish resort. The UFC star has been playing in an over 35's league with his local pub team and celebrated their recent league victory. "To celebrate winning the league I took the @blackforgeinn football squad away on holiday to Ibiza! All expenses paid, VIP's," McGregor posted on social media along with a selection of snaps and clips from their getaway. He elaborated: "LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, BABY! Reach out, link up, join a team! Get active! For the sake of your mental health you will thank yourself! #ibizapartyisland." Three years ago, McGregor stated talks took place with Dermot Desmond about his shares to provide financial backing for the Parkhead side.

How to feel like you're in a movie in Dubai

We all deserve to live our best main character lives. Despite the fact that not everyone will become a Hollywood star or an on-screen favourite in their lifetime, it doesn't mean the day to day can't feel like a movie. If you like this: The movies you have to catch this summer (and where to watch them) Whether it's the dramatic action of the desert or a view that's almost too good to be true, head to these unmissable places in Dubai and you'll be giving main character energy in no time. Explore the Green Planet to feel like you're in Avatar (Credit: Supplied) For an afternoon out on Pandora, explore the incredible indoor rainforest that is Green Planet Dubai. From Dhs129 (resident offer). Open daily 10am-6pm. City Walk, Al Wasl, (800 2629464). Grab a coffee at EL&N to feel like you're in Barbie If Barbie's dreamhouse had a coffee shop attached, it would be EL&N London (in DIFC). Take a tour of the dunes to feel like you're in Dune (Credit: Canva) The sci-fi adventure has now released two incredible blockbusters, both of which are mostly set on the dry sandy planet of Arrakis. You might have already guessed, but filming for both movies (and the ongoing third part) was partly done in the UAE. So it's no surprise that when you scramble to the top of a dune, you feel as if a sand worm could show at any time. For the full experience, take your headphones and listen to the Hans Zimmer sound track (and you'll immediately feel like the Lisan al Gaib himself). You can browse all of the best desert adventures in Dubai here. First up is the At The Top Burj Khalifa tour, where you can check out the views from 148 floors-up (gulp) and stare down at the glittering city below. Or if you love the adrenaline and really want to know how it feels to hang off the edge of a skyscraper, you can do exactly that at Sky Views Dubai observation deck at Address Sky View Hotel. Councillor says Glasgow should look to Primavera Sound Festival

As Glasgow's Summer Sessions concerts in Bellahouston Park get underway today, Molyneux of the Scottish Greens, has called on the city to invest in a dedicated outdoor events space to take the pressure of holding major events off public parks. READ NEXT: Glasgow Subway issues warning ahead of Glasgow Summer Sessions (Image: Image: Newsquest) Bellahouston Park will see the Sex Pistols headline this weekend, with Sting, Simple Minds, and Stereophonics to follow over the next seven days, Crowds of up to 35,000 are expected for each show. July will then see Glasgow Green fenced off for TRNSMT festival, which will run between the 11th and 13th. Councillor Molyneux said the council and commercial partners should look to the success of the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, which takes place in a purpose-built events space called Parc del Forum, which also has dedicated bus and tram connections. (Image: Image: Newsquest) READ NEXT: Spanish bar where Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons shot reopens under new name Councillor Molyneux said: "Big events bring people into Glasgow and support our global reputation as a city of music, but having to rely on Glasgow Green and Bellahouston Park to host them does have an impact on citizens who have huge swathes of their parks fenced off for weeks at a time and then have areas that are badly damaged afterwards. Bellahouston is also slap bang in the middle of a residential area and the events put big strain on public transport as well as dozens of road closures. "The set up for Primavera Sound is totally different. It is in a purpose-built space which combines both indoor and outdoor venues that are able to support a wide variety of events all year round. "Something similar could be done using the land around the SEC, including its massive surface car park, all the way up to the Riverside Museum. If not there, then Glasgow is not exactly short of unused land, some of which is not suitable for building on, and this could also be integrated into plans for Clyde Metro. "If we believe parks should serve local communities as well as wanting to keep Glasgow on the musical map, I think this is something the Council and city partners should give consideration to."
