A FRENCH woman has been arrested after her husband and daughter were found stabbed dead in their hotel room in Iceland.

The incident took place in a room on the fourth floor at the five-star Edition Hotel in central Reykjavik,
The victims - a man in his 60s and his daughter in her 30s - were found dead by a staff member in the room.
They had both sustained serious stab wounds.
The woman in custody is understood to be the wife and mother of the deceased.

The family had been travelling together with a return ticket home for last Saturday, June 14, when the bodies were discovered.
Staff members called the police at around 7.14am (8:14am Irish time) that day to report that "an incident had occurred".

The French embassy has been contacted by the Metropolitan Police in order to make contact with the victim's family members.
