The popular presenter looked around the room in shock and then stared down at the mic in front of him.

man was quick to shut down the rumours with a sarcastic video posted to his own Instagram page.

The star wrapped up his comical response to the clip by saying: "Just so there is no confusion, I will be putting my name forward to take over from Joe Duffy, I hope this clears things up."
