Meet Sachin Agrawal, brother of world's youngest female Chartered Accountant who topped CA finals exam at…, she holds Guinness World Record for…, her name is... Success in India's toughest exams—like JEE, NEET, UPSC CSE, CA, and SSC—is a journey that requires a combination of immense stress and great commitment. These exams not only test academic prowess but also test discipline, time management, and mental toughness. With lakhs of students sitting for exams every year, the path to success becomes narrower and narrower. More and more students want to clear the exam each year with the hope of success. But only a small number clear the first hurdle. As the process unfolds, the percentage drops significantly. At the end, only a handful have made it, and from there, just one candidate claims the All India Rank 1 title. In a world where passing challenging exams is a feat in its own right, only a few names pass the exams on the first attempt, while becoming stars in their own right. One of these incredible feats is the journey of Nandini Agrawal, an inspiring woman from Morena in Madhya Pradesh, who not only passed the Chartered Accountancy; she made history. At just 19, Nandini became the youngest female Chartered Accountant in the world. This is confirmed by the Guinness World Records. Nandini's inspiring journey is a huge reminder that age is no barrier to achieving greatness if you have focus, hard work, and a strong mindset. Born on October 18, 2001, Nandini Agrawal made history in 2021 by becoming ranked All India Rank 1 in the Chartered Accountancy (New) examination, a feat the India Book of Records recognizes. Nandini appeared for the final exam in July 2021, achieving the distinguished milestone at only 19 years, 8 months, and 18 days old. Nandini Agrawal's results were officially declared on November 29, 2021, and as such, she is not only one of the youngest Chartered Accountants but also one of the youngest to achieve All India Rank 1. Nandini Agrawal's story is the perfect example of how grit and concentration can help to break age-old records—quite literally. All India Rank 1 topper in the CA final exam at just 19 years old, Nandini scored a sensational total of 614 out of 800 marks. This achievement is made even more exciting as Nandini's older brother, 21-year-old Sachin Agrawal, passed the same exam, securing All India Rank 18. The sibling success story is a rare example of dedication to help one another succeed through the shared experience of working hard to achieve excellence in an academic environment. In 2021, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, also wished the remarkable siblings well. Taking to his official Twitter account, he wrote, 'Congratulations to the star siblings of Morena, Madhya Pradesh! Well done Nandini Agrawal for topping the all-India CA final exam and her brother Sachin Agrawal for securing the 18th rank. Best of luck for a bright future to both of you.' Their achievement was even more remarkable because the pandemic adversely affected the preparation of many other aspirants, gradually resulting in these dedicated siblings utilizing the time at home to study and revise for their exam. Nandini Agrawal completed her 11th and 12th grade studies in Victor Convent Higher Secondary School. She created history in 2021 by becoming the world's youngest female Chartered Accountant at the age of 19 years, obtaining All India Rank 1 in the CA Final examination by scoring 614 out of 800, which is 76.75%. When the previous results were declared, she was 19 years and 330 days old, which officially verified the Guinness World Record for being the youngest female Chartered Accountant. In a 2021 interview with The Indian Express, Sachin Agrawal, Nandini's brother, reflected on their journey together, saying, 'There were times when we fought like crazy but that only lasted for some time and we got back to normal. I would have been happy with even 70 per cent marks as I did not have high expectations but I knew that Nandini will do great. She's brilliant and deserves all the success. In many ways, she is my mentor.' Nandini and Sachin's father, Naresh Chandra Gupta, is a tax practitioner. Their mother, Dimple Gupta, is a homemaker. Nandini and Sachin attribute their success to consistent preparations and in their experience, encourage aspirants to be diligent with ICAI study material as it was key to their success in helping them to crack the exam as they have done. The statement on the official website of the India Book of Records reads,' The record for being the youngest Chartered Accountant was set by Nandini Agrawal (born on October 18, 2001) of Morena, Madhya Pradesh. She appeared for her final CA (New) examination in July 2021 and secured the 1st rank at the age of 19 years, 8 months and 18 days, as confirmed on November 29, 2021.'

Rupee recovers from two-month low level; settles 18 paise higher at 86.55 against US dollar

At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic currency opened at 86.65 and traded in a narrow range of 86.55-86.67, before ending the session at its intra-day peak of 86.55 against the US dollar, registering a gain of 18 paise from previous closing level. A robust sentiment in domestic equity markets further supported the local unit, according to forex traders. Mumbai, Jun 20 (PTI) The rupee snapped its three-day losing streak and settled with a gain of 18 paise at 86.55 against the US dollar on Friday, buoyed by a massive inflow of foreign capital, retreating crude oil prices and a weakening greenback. The rupee had lost 30 paise to close at an over two-month low of 86.73 against the dollar on Thursday, logging a combined loss of 69 paise in the past three sessions. According to Maneesh Sharma, AVP – Commodities & Currencies, Anand Rathi Shares and Stock Brokers, the rupee gained on Friday but declined a little over 1 per cent this month so far, 'with a large portion of its decline occurring after Israel attacked targets in Iran last Friday'. Dilip Parmar, Research Analyst, HDFC Securities, attributed the rupee's resurgence to 'a revitalisation in the domestic stock markets and a subdued greenback, which receded following reports of President Donald Trump postponing a decision regarding an Iran strike'. Additionally, Parmar said, lower imported commodity prices lent additional buoyancy to the local rupee. 'In the near-term, the spot USD/INR pair faces resistance at 87.10 and finds support at 86.45. The overall bias for the USD/INR pair remains favourable,' he added. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading 0.30 per cent lower at 98.60. In the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex surged 1,046.30 points to settle at 82,408.17, while Nifty soared 319.15 points to 25,112.40. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, declined 2.36 per cent to USD 76.99 per barrel in futures trade. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased equities worth Rs 7,940.70 crore on a net basis on Friday, according to exchange data. The latest weekly data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday showed India's forex reserves rose USD 2.294 billion to USD 698.95 billion during the week ended June 13. However, government data showed the country's eight core sectors' growth slowed down to 0.7 per cent, lowest in nine months, in May 2025 against 6.9 per cent in the same month last year. In April, the growth in output of these key infrastructure sectors were recorded at 1 per cent. PTI TRB HVA This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. What new Registration Bill says, why it was introduced

The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has invited suggestions on the new draft Registration Bill 2025, which seeks to replace the 117-year-old Registration Act of 1908. The Bill, the MoRD says, will digitise the registration of property documents, enhance transparency, and maintain digital records. Can it deliver? The Registration Bill, 2025 was introduced to establish a modern framework for registration of land documents, and a more citizen-centric approach. Some key features include: Online/offline registration: End-to-end registrations, from the presentation of documents to their submission, can either be done at the office of the Sub-Registrar or via electronic means. Identity verifications will be carried out via Aadhaar or through an offline verification process (Section 29 (3)). No person can be denied registration of their documents if they do not possess an Aadhaar number (Section 29 (4)). Expanded list of compulsory docs: The Bill expands the list of compulsory registration of documents under Section 12 with the inclusion of agreement of sale, power of attorneys (POAs), sale agreements, mortgage by deposit of title deed, and merger and demerger of companies under the Companies Act, 2013 (Section 12(f-j)). The Bill also provides for simplified optional registration under Section 13 that Section 12 does not cover but fails to specify which documents come under this category, leaving it to wide interpretation. Introducing new positions: In addition to the post of Inspector General of Registration, the Bill introduces Additional and Assistant Inspector Generals of Registration. Section 4(5) states: 'The appropriate government may prescribe the terms and conditions of service, and the duties of the officers appointed under sub-section (4) and authorise them to exercise all or any powers and duties of the Inspector General of Registration.' Reasons for refusal/cancellation: Section 58 of the Bill lists the reasons upon which a document may be refused for registration, including documents submitted without true translation, erasure of content from the documents, documents submitted after the prescribed period of four-months (this is not applicable on wills), or if the person concerned is a minor, mentally incapable or deceased. Section 64(3) states that the Inspector General of the Registration is vested with the power to cancel any registration that appears to be made based on false information, in breach of the provisions of the Act, or if the document was made on a transaction that was found to be conducted against the law. Such reasons must be recorded in writing before passing an order. An appeal can be filed against such an order within 30 days. Reduced imprisonment: The penalties prescribed in the current Act are seven years imprisonment with a fine or both, whereas the new draft bill reduces the imprisonment to three years, along with a fine, or in some cases, both. Why did the current Act need reform? The pre-Independence Registration Act, 1908 provided for registration of various property-related documents. Citizens needed to visit the registration office and submit documents to the Sub-Registrar for the registration process. These documents were required to be presented by persons themselves or their appointed agents. With growing technological advancements and hassle-free methods, 'several states and union territories have already introduced innovations such as online document submission and digital identity verification under the existing 1908 Act,' the MoRD says. As the role of the registered documents increased in both public and private transactions, parallel systems had to be designed to sustain the growing demands. This necessitated an updation of the Act itself — which the Registration Bill 2025 seeks to do. What are some concerns surrounding the Bill? The Bill aims to digitise processes of registration, reduce the risk of title fraud, improve approval rates, and reduce disputes. However, with the maintenance of digital records, important information with regards to e-signatures will be maintained in a digital archive, which may require more robust cybersecurity systems. The Bill may also delegate the registration functions to the Common Services Centres (CSCs). Allowing CSCs to facilitate processes that involve valuation of stamp duty, transfer of title, etc, processes that require legal implications, may create procedural gaps. The portal for suggestions on the draft Bill remains open until June 25.
