Craig Daitch's BLD DRV Releases "Recovery," an Unflinching Look at the Quiet Hell of Staying Clean

DETROIT, June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit-based artist Craig Daitch, the voice behind alternative rock project BLD DRV, has released a powerful new single titled "Recovery." The song blends atmospheric, melodic alt-rock verses with crushing post-hardcore choruses, digging deep into the emotional weight of addiction and the daily effort it takes to stay clean. The track features production by Justin Tamminga (Assertion), a longtime collaborator who also appeared on BLD DRV's recent singles "plus+one" and "Broke Promises." Together, they deliver a sound that's both emotionally unfiltered and sonically intense. "This one was hard to write," says Daitch. "Addiction is a disease, but too often it's treated like a moral failure. People living with it carry an invisible weight—one that doesn't just affect them, but the people who care about them too. Recovery is about learning to live with that weight, showing yourself compassion, and trying to rebuild trust where you can—even if that trust starts with yourself." Daitch's musical roots trace back to West Michigan's alt-rock scene of the mid-90s, where his previous musical endeavors led him to open for bands such as Orange 9mm, Chicago's Catherine, and Menthol. He recently reemerged by collaborating on an EP with the post-hardcore band In Dark, which included members of Ettison Clio. BLD DRV builds on that legacy with a more reflective and personal lens, exploring themes of loss, resilience, and renewal. To support others on their recovery journey, proceeds from downloads and streaming of "Recovery" will be donated to SAFE Project, a national nonprofit dedicated to ending the addiction epidemic through education, prevention, and support services. "Recovery" is available now on all major streaming platforms. Race Across The World 2025 cast now: Months on from filming, here's where they are today

After eight, very intense weeks, Race Across the World came to an end last night (11th June) on BBC One, with this year's winners reaching the finish line at Kanniyakumari, India. The five pairs endured homestays, all kinds of odd jobs and sleeper buses over the course of the series, as they competed for the prize fund of £20,000. In the end, mother and son duo, Caroline and Tom, beat this year's runners up (Elizabeth and Letitia) by approximately 19 minutes, with teen couple Fin and Sioned coming in third place. Filming took place for the show last year October, so some time has passed since the participants were roughing it over in Asia for the ultimate race. So, what are the contestants up to now? From this year's winners to sisters Elizabeth and Letitia, and early departures Yin and Gaz, here's what the Race Across the World contestants are up to today. Caroline and Tom have been doing a lot of press since the 2025 season aired. Tom recently shared a gallery of images from some of their cast interviews. "Had a great time doing the One show and BBC radio 2 with @realscottmills !! The final is tonight! Who is going to take home the prize?? All to play for and only a couple of hours until we find out! @raceacrosstheworld @bbctheoneshow @bbcradio2" he wrote alongside the images. Asides from the BBC One show, Caroline and Tom have planned to do more travelling together, with the pair revealing that the show has brought them "closer". "We now try and have a bit more time for each other," Caroine said after their win. "We actually make time to stop and enjoy the simple things together and we are hoping to go travelling again." She continued: "Tom is back working and we are hoping to save up and plan to go to Kazakhstan with rucksacks but obviously with a phone this time and see what takes our fancy. "It will just be the two of us because we like to walk and be impulsive and we don't mind roughing it." Since appearing on the BBC One show, Fin and Sioned have been doing some more travelling. In February, the couple headed to Australia, with Fin sharing a photo dump on Instagram of his time there with the caption: "Down Under". Sioned also shared a photo dump from their time in Australia, one of which included them jumping out of a plane. The pair have kept in contact with their co-stars, with Tom commenting: "Big boy" with a kangaroo emoji on Fin's Australia dump. In another photo, the couple can be seen attending BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend with Tom, Letitia, and Elizabeth. "A post that's actually not about the Race big suprise. Absolutely brilliant few days at BBC big weekend, and finally seeing (nearly) everyone again," Fin captioned the photos posted in May 2025. Sisters Elizabeth and Letitia just missed out on the cash prize, but are clearly winning in life. In March, Elizabeth joined Serene Wellness Retreats as a meditation facilitator. "Meet the Workshop Leaders! 🌿✨ Feeling so lucky to welcome Elizabeth to our workshop leaders team! For nearly eight years, she has immersed herself in meditation, breathwork, and energy healing, discovering the profound power of stillness. Her warmth and guidance make every practice feel like a breath of fresh air- something we could all use more of!" read the caption alongside an image of Elizabeth. Letitia hasn't shared much on her socials since appearing on the show, but has been by her sister's side during press interviews and days out with the rest of the racers. The brothers had us all screaming when they were picking up manure with their bare hands. You'll be happy to hear they haven't been doing any of that since the show ended (well, at least from what we can see from their social media). Instead, they've been doing some press, and were interviewed by The One Show's Scott Mills recently. They've also been spending some time with family, with Brian sharing a photo with his son and grandson from his and Melvyn's joint Instagram page. "Making memories tonight watching @raceacrosstheworld with my family! Three generations of Mole men ☺️. My grandson Alfie particularly loved my 🐃 💩 moment! 😁" he captioned the sweet image. Separated couple Yin and Gaz were the first pair to be out of the race. Since filming ended for them on show, the ex couple have been getting on with their day-to-day lives, with a few interviews here and there - as you do. They've been spending time together as a family going on hikes and to markets over the bank holidays, along with their daughter, Autumn, who recently turned 21. Gaz has also been enjoying himself at a few football matches and concerts, including a Sam Fender show at West Ham's stadium earlier this month. Race Across the World is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
