Stats, Odds To Watch For NBA Finals Game 7 Between Pacers And Thunder

The Indiana Pacers managed to force Game 7 in the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The two teams will face off in Oklahoma City at 8pm ET tonight. This will be the first NBA Finals Game 7 since 2016 when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors. With two young, high-powered teams on the brink and history hanging in the balance, this finale promises to be a defining moment for both franchises and a potential turning point for the league's next era.
OKC's NBA Finals Home Court Advantage

In the crucible of a Game 7, homecourt advantage can be the difference between legacy and heartbreak, and few places amplify that edge like Oklahoma City's 'Loud City.' The Paycom Center is renowned for its intensity. This postseason, that energy has translated into results: the Thunder have dropped just two games at home, continuing a trend from the regular season where they posted a league-best 68-14 record, including a dominant 35-6 mark in OKC. Now, with the franchise committing to OKC through 2053 and a $1 billion next-generation arena on the horizon, that homecourt edge is only gaining momentum. Meanwhile, the Pacers were merely .500 (20-20) on the road during the regular season. Of their 7 losses in the postseason, the Pacers have dropped 4 away from Indianapolis.
NBA Finals Game 7 Final Score
Despite boasting two of the NBA's most potent offenses, a Game 7 between the Thunder and Pacers may defy expectations and turn into a defensive slog. Oklahoma City (120.5 PPG) and Indiana (117.4 PPG) ranked fourth and seventh, respectively, in regular-season scoring, and both have continued that pace in the playoffs with over 115 points per game. But history suggests Game 7s in the NBA Finals don not follow the script of high-scoring shootouts. No team has scored 100 points or more in a Finals Game 7 since 1988 when the Lakers beat the Pistons 108-105.

The oddsmakers do not seem deterred by this Game 7 scoring trend, as the over/under for total points still reflects the offensive firepower of both teams. The Thunder are set at 110.5 and the Pacers at 103.5. These totals would diverge from the recent historical norm for Finals Game 7s. This suggests either confidence in the modern pace-and-space era breaking tradition, or a reflection of betting behavior more than predictive accuracy.
The spread is set at OKC (-7), a number that interestingly mirrors the long-term trend in NBA Finals Game 7s, where the average margin of victory is just 6.9 points. That suggests the bookmakers see this matchup not only as favoring the Thunder, but also as aligning with the historical precedent of tightly contested, low-margin finales.
MVP Odds And NBA Finals Winner
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - JUNE 13: Tyrese Haliburton #0 of the Indiana Pacers attempts a layup ... There is a clear alignment between the betting markets and predictive models when it comes to Oklahoma City's outlook in Game 7, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's MVP chances are at the heart of it. ESPN's analytics give the Thunder a 60% probability of winning the title, while SGA's Finals MVP odds of -195 translate to an implied probability of 66.1%, slightly exceeding the team's own win projection. That small gap reflects a logical correlation: if OKC wins, SGA is overwhelmingly likely to be the reason why. He's been the Thunder's offensive engine and clutch-time closer throughout the regular season and postseason. In effect, SGA's MVP odds serve as a more player-specific expression of Oklahoma City's championship chances.
Thunder Favored In NBA Finals
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA - JUNE 16: Jalen Williams #8 of the Oklahoma City Thunder celebrates a dunk ... As Game 7 in the NBA Finals looms, all signs point to Oklahoma City holding a meaningful edge. The Paycom Center's intensity, the Thunder's dominant home record, and the consistent pattern of low-scoring, tightly contested Finals deciders converge to form a perfect storm of opportunity for OKC. Add in the betting market's confidence, the narrow spread, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's MVP odds aligning with win projections. Whether they break the 100-point barrier or grind out another Finals slugfest, Oklahoma City's mix of talent, homecourt fervor, and late-game poise may be what ultimately tips the balance in their favor.

Sophie Cunningham Assigns Blame For The Caitlin Clark Incident

Sophie Cunningham Assigns Blame For The Caitlin Clark Incident originally appeared on The Spun. Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has broken her silence on coming to Caitlin Clark's defense. Cunningham, who was traded from the Phoenix Mercury to the Indiana Fever this offseason, came to Clark's defense during a recent Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun game earlier this week. The Fever topped the Sun, 88-71, but in the third quarter, all hell broke loose. Advertisement Clark was poked in the eye by Sun guard Jacy Sheldon. Clark and Sheldon then got into it, before the Indiana Fever guard was knocked to the ground by another Sun player. Multiple technical fouls were awarded. Later in the game, Cunningham took Sheldon to the ground on a fastbreak layup attempt. She ended up getting ejected from the game for the foul. Over the weekend, Cunningham, who starred collegiately at Missouri, broke her silence on the incident. She made it clear that she believes that's her role with the team. 'I think the refs had a lot to do with that. It was a build up for a couple years now of them just not, not protecting the star player in the WNBA. And so at the end of the day, I'm going to protect my teammates, that's what I do," she said. Sophie Cunningham spoke Cunningham believes that it was the referees' fault for letting things escalate to that point. She believes that other teams have gotten away with too much when it comes to defending Clark. It clearly doesn't sound like Cunningham is planning on changing anything moving forward. Meet the fan who placed third against pros in Fanatics Games

(Credit: Getty Images) NEW YORK — For anyone who looked at the Fanatics Games' final leaderboard Sunday afternoon, there was only one question to ask: Who the hell is Matt Dennish? Fanatics Games final championship leaderboard: Tom Brady, 399.1 Justin Gaethje, 345.4 Matt Dennish, 325 Advertisement Dennish is now the answer to an age-old question: Can an average Joe beat the Pros? Matt Dennish more than held his own against the pros at the Fanatics Games. (Credit: OBB Media) Dennish is a 39-year-old high school teacher at his alma mater, Red Lion High School in York, Pennsylvania. He was one of 50 average fans who got the chance to compete against the pros for the top prize of $1 million, and he finished in third place to win a 2003-04 LeBron James rookie chrome refractor card, last valued at $250,000. Dennish later traded the card to Brady for $250,000 cash, plus a signed Brady card and jersey. Brady said he would give $5,000 to every fan who competed and donate the rest of his earnings to charity. Advertisement Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady added to his trophy case by taking home the initial Fanatics Games title and the $1 million prize. UFC fighter Justin Gaethje placed second and won a 2025 Ferrari 296 GTB. Six of the top 10 finishers were average fans. Dennish was clearly one of the best athletes in the competition. He stands 6-foot-6, was a standout cross-country and track runner and a basketball player in high school. He ran a 4:08 mile his freshman year at East Carolina, and he said his recent accomplishments included hitting a half-court shot at a Philadelphia 76ers game and working himself down to a two handicap on the golf course. Advertisement Dennish beat out such pros as Kevin Durant, Eli Manning, Dwight Howard, Rob Gronkowski, Denny Hamlin, Russell Wilson, C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young and Julian Edelman. Contestants were scored in eight contests, and the lowest two numbers were dropped. Dennish came into Friday's competition most nervous about the WWE Superstar entrance since he isn't a fan of wrestling. "A friend who is a fan convinced me to do Joe Hendry," Dennish told cllct. "I got a belt that our high school women's wrestling team bought and took off my shirt." Dennish got 70 total points in the WWE event, good for 10th-best score of the day. The MLB pitching accuracy was next. Contestants were given six pitches to score as many points as they can by hitting targets. The top and bottom corners were worth five points. The middle strike zone was one, and all the rest were three. Dennish shined, hitting four five-pointers, a three and a one. No one did better. Next he hit the NHL washer-dryer puck shooting contest, an area he knew would be difficult. He's not a hockey guy. Given 12 shots, he failed to knock in one, only lifting the puck successfully once. Advertisement In the NFL QB skills, Dennish was impressive. He went 3-for-5 in the 10-yard toss and the 20-yard toss and missed the golden ball, a 30-yard toss, by a foot or two. The top three best contestants in this skill were not surprisingly: 1. Stroud, 2. Brady and 3 (tie). Russell Wilson and Eli Manning. Dennish came in a respectable 11th. Dennish also finished 11th overall in the UFC striking challenge, hitting the punching bag for a total of 75.5 points. The FIFA goal-scoring was a strategy game for Dennish. He hit six out of eight in the bottom corners for five points each, but then got greedy by trying the top corners for 10 points and missed them all. He came in sixth. Streamer Adin Ross finished with Friday's best score. Advertisement In the last event, the Dick's closest-to-the-pin golf contest, Dennish knew he would be among the best. And he was right. "It's basically all I do these days," he said. The challenge? The contestants had five chances to get the ball on the green at a 105-yard par-3 hole, simulated from Oakmont Country Club, the site of last week's U.S. Open. One point for the green, two points for within 15 yards. Dennish came away with a respectable four points, placing three on the green and one within 15 feet. Brady finished first, and Dennish was fourth, one spot ahead of Manning. After competing, Dennish sat around eating some pizza and reloading the scores. Before he headed home on his train back to Pennsylvania, he saw he was in third place behind Brady and just ahead of Manning. Advertisement Although he dropped to third Sunday after Gaethje passed him, Dennish managed to hold onto the third spot and finish on the podium.
