The Greenwood girls and Greenville boys won tight games to claim 5A Division II Upper State championships Wednesday night in Florence.
Greenwood's girls got a basket from Tykiera Johnson near the buzzer in overtime to down Greenville, 49-47.
The Eagles play Berkeley Saturday at 4pm.
Greenville's boys took the lead with about 20 seconds remaining in regulation on a bucket from Roman Cooley and denied Fort Mill's attempt at a late shot in defeating the Yellow Jackets, 46-44.
The Red Raiders face Goose Creek Saturday at 6pm.

'It's to protect the lives and well-being of every Greenville resident in light of this growing crisis. … we cannot stand by and let violence rip through our neighborhoods. Red Sox center field prospect Miguel Bleis belted two home runs to lead High-A Greenville 7-2 over Rome on Thursday. Bleis drove in three runs and scored three runs. Bleis entered 2023 ranked No. 88 on Baseball America's Top 100 list. But surgery in June 2023 for a left shoulder subluxation limited him to just 31 games that year. Advertisement He entered 2024 spring training in great shape, gaining 33 pounds of productive weight and muscle during his rehab but he batted just .220 with a .303 on-base percentage, .354 slugging percentage and .657 OPS in 95 games (429 plate appearances) between Low-A Salem and Greenville. Bleis is still young. He turned 21 on March 1. He struggled early this season but he now has his slash line up to .253/.331 /487/.818. He's tied for second among Red Sox minor leaguers in home runs with nine. He also has six doubles, one triple, 11 steals, 35 RBIs and 33 runs in 40 games (169 plate appearances) for Greenville.
