Liverpool ‘encouraged' over Alexander Isak pursuit
Liverpool have been given encouragement in their pursuit of Alexander Isak with contract talks between the forward and Newcastle having failed to progress. Newcastle are aware of interest in Isak from the Premier League champions and are keen to tie the Swedish striker down to a new deal. Isak has scored 62 goals in 109 games for the Magpies and is regarded as one of Europe's best number nines.
